The Only attacks in my opinion that need to be nerfed 1. The Speed of the final boss’s cleaver attacks, only just a little though. 2. Commander Gaius’s charge window of roll should be higher. It’s very inconsistent

@@fortniteMan48 I'm using ancient dragon great catana +10 (for some I used keen uchiganta +23 tho), two handing sword Talisman, dragoncrest +1, crimson +3, sacred tree +1 (263 more hp and 12 stamina), physick is the slow healing + opaline crystal tear for tankiness and always crab meat for free damage reduction. Against Bayle, I also used exalted meat, bloody meat, golden vow item (can't use the incantation due to not having any faith) and the perfumer item that raises attack and negates damage one time. With RL200 & scuda tree level 17, I reached almost 2k AR and killed Bayle first try (and also most of the other bosses, but I didn't use the additional buffs there).

I was really hoping to see Commander Gaius charge hitbox changed. I hated and loved that boss. Some of his combos were really cool and gratifying to dodge through successfully, yet some of the charge abilities were absurdly goofy and awkward.
Glad it's not a big change, for the final boss to be as difficult as it is makes it a very satisfying sendoff to an amazing game, still stoked I was able to beat it before the buffs. It as well as Messmer and Bayle were probably my favorite fights in all of the Soulsborne genre besides maybe Isshin.

Difficulty isn’t the issue with this DLC. That’s what makes the game great. The lack of emphasis on new weapons and gear being stronger and needed made it boring. Most people beat the game with original game weapons.
For real I didn't use a single upgrade until I got very stuck on Rellana. The side bosses might hit hard but you can still do great damage if your build is optimized. Build matters more in Elden Ring than any other of these games.
Overall I don't think it's anything major. Seems like a pretty balanced way of doing it because some of the early bosses had way too much HP like Rellana. It's kinda lame that it makes gathering them somewhat less interesting after 12 though. I don't think they thought that part of it through.
I’m going through it with the last boss. Bashing my head on the wall for hours with a Dex faith build just not having fun. Hopefully this helps, if but a little. Like I feel like a unga bunga strength build, or some bleed arcane build is almost required

Won't spoil it but the last boss needs a bit of a rework or nerf. The only boss ive genuinely believe needs a nerf. Before you spam get good i beat it no summons, it wasnt fun.
Miyazaki literally said word for word that he wanted to push the limitations of what players can handle and that difficulty is what makes these games feel alive He's not going to get nerfed and he's definitely balanced you just need to master his kit The fact people can no hit him and are uploading it by the dozens it seems proves he's balanced
@spaceman10th31Radahn nerfs were reverted because they were accidental when they did some stuff to Malenia apparently, the only thing that’s different now are the hitboxes aren’t as janky
@@MourningSin yes but there's a point where it starts to become unreasonable. With his ridiculous damage even with max blessing with the flashbang attacks it will only become frustrating which isn't good design at all. When I did the fight no summons I experienced janky hitboxes, blinding attacks I couldn't even see and one shot moves. Point is trying to make a difficult boss is fine but there's difficult and then unreasonable
Some of the enemies need to be nerfed as well, Imo. It's not so much the damage, as it's their behaviours. Like how Gaius (or that hippo boss) will charge at you as soon as you walk through the fog, with VERY hard to avoid attacks that can pin you to the fog gate and screw up the camera. That just isn't a good time. Also the overuse of fast, uninterruptible, attack chains that advance across any distance to hit you and/or stay on top of you, forcing you to dodge/block. This one isn't so much a difficulty thing... it's a fun factor thing. We get so many kool new spells and weapon arts. The problem is we get animation locked for WAY too long to actually use them against bosses that spam these fast, uninterruptible, attack chains. I play a mage build, for example and would really like to use Rellana's Twin Moons at some point in the game lol. When the boss uses the Twin Moons, what makes it good is that 1) when she casts it, she floats high in the air out of melee range 2) the AOE is huge. When we cast it, we get animation locked on the ground for around 5-6 seconds and the AOE is melee range. When in the hell does any boss give you 5-6 seconds in melee range to do anything? Even if I poise break the boss, I still don't have enough time to safely get that spell off. And that spell is just one example of many spells and abilities that are practically unusable because of the overuse of fast, uninterruptible, attack chains that bosses love to spam in the DLC.
@@2DFightergaming They probably arent going to change the attacks but the hurtboxes need to be looked at, So many times fighting Romina wwatching my weapon go directly into that boss and do no damage because of intentionally broke hitboxes, infuriating boss design as always.
Good. I was honestly getting annoyed with the DLC because of the ridiculous amounts of hp enemies had. I felt like I had to cheese enemies a lot of the time by putting on every talisman and buff I can to just kill them at a reasonable rate. I hate having to swap around weapons armor and talismans just to have a better time fighting an enemy that is placed in between other enemies that I feel like I need to change my equipment for as well. I hate this having to min max every time just to be able to play the game. Last time I experienced this was in Shadow of War where I constantly had to go through the slow menus to change my abilities so I can exploit weaknesses on the nemesis orcs attacking my stronghold in groups of 4 or more at a time. I don't want to spend more time swapping around equipment than actually playing the game.
Well I can tell you things became way easier as I hit around lvl 12. Boss that kicked my ass are now manageable. It feels like old Elden ring now. I’m not getting boned every time I fight something. Now with the buff I might even feel OP again. Gotta wait till I get off work and see.
Reach a boss, does the boss two shots me with basic attacks? get at least two more upgrades and come back. Reach the final boss? Wait for Fromsoftware to nerf it because it's currently unbeatable for people with average reaction times.
fun fact: if u think you don't have enough strength to fight a boss. find another blessing they don't need to spoonfeed you on how strong you think you are, you're an adult human being capable of knowing when to do certain things
In case you guys are wondering at 19 shard level the "buff" is a 2% physical resistance increase. The dlc is not going to be any "easier." This likely has to do with diminished returns on resistances.
Yeah I already had a high level blessing before the changes and I didn't see much of a difference. The people just starting are affected the most, for sure.
I feel like this was overkill... I am not good at this game. I've never beat mallenia without summons, rellana and divine beast dancing lion both took me like 20-30 tries (pre-patch). I got to Bayle and Messmer post patch and defeated Messmer in one try and Bayle in 2. I felt OP, idk what's happening. I haven't gotten to radahn yet, so we'll see.
The way it should be done. I don't agree on the idea of nerfing bosses when it's already possible to defeat them naked. Nerfing should never be the solution. Everyone should get better together. 💪
Nah fam, the final boss’ second phase has way too much going on. It drops your fps to like 10, he teleports around more than lothric, and gets AoE spam, and has more stamina than a rabid hollow. Fuck that boss, nobody should be forced to respec to bloodfiend arm or the busted thorns spell to beat a boss. Or use the perfume exploit.
Not everyone has the time to spend 200 hours to learn a boss’ moveset. The game can be difficult but if it isn’t fun people won’t bother. Games should be fun not just difficult for the sake of being difficult. So some fat nerd can claim he is the ultimate gamer cause he beat elden ring
I definitely like this change - the scaling is what it should have been like in the first place and is somewhat reminiscent of how flask strength upgrades worked in DS3 and base game ER. Early upgrades are worth more while later upgrades have diminishing returns. Still worth getting them all, but it's not detrimental for those who don't. Appreciate the matter-of-fact coverage on this.
meh.. they should nerf those. I don't even have any sorceries or incantations to buff my character, but with just using a few consumables I reached almost 2k AR on my great catana. Killed Bayle solo first try.. not sure if thats the "challenge" people are talking about
I just wished they waited for another week or 2 to do this. I was just starting to get good on patch 1.10. Oh well. Ill beat it faster so I can go through it again. Even though I think this patch is good for everyone else overall. The DLC is awesome. The base game is one of my favorites ever.

They need to increase the punish window for bosses so it doesn't feel like I'm rolling for 15 minutes while it dances around the arena spamming AOEs before I can get a poke in.
No. They don’t need to change any move sets or damage values to accommodate your inability to learn the game. I’m sick of you crybaby mfs ruining the game. I was looking forward to playing this DLC and seeing what the hype is about, but it already got an “easier” version before I could play. Yall ruin everything. Same thing happened in the base game with Rhadan, but i was at least lucky enough to beat pre-nerf version.
The graphics settings thing doesn’t help me at all, I’ve never had ray tracing enabled once and I’ve checked before and it never turned itself on or anything, still laggy frame rate though
I’ve literally been doing my first play through without even using any of the fragments so I suppose there’s not much change for anyone else doing the same
I really don't like that they did this now. Two weeks after the dlc is out sure, but at least give the people who want to beat it at the original difficulty some time before you nerf it.

The Only attacks in my opinion that need to be nerfed
1. The Speed of the final boss’s cleaver attacks, only just a little though.
2. Commander Gaius’s charge window of roll should be higher. It’s very inconsistent
1. the 1 2 x slash? If so then yeah, its timing is just a little bit too tight, otherwise it's fine
2. yeah no, there were times I dodged that and he still hit me and I was like "what the fuck?"
@@sataniccerealyeah, it’s to the point where either light roll or bloodhound step is basically required for you to be able to fully dodge the charge from gaius. Medium and above and you don’t have enough I-frames to fully get through him it feels like. Also should make the charge not invincible, at least to spells. The amount of times I had a ranni’s dark moon phase right through him cause he decided to charge is pretty not ok.
Agreed, even if you dodge right as the pig hits you, it'll still sometimes hits and it's so BS. I don't personally use spells but I can see how that could be aggravating, especially if there's absolutely no reason they shouldn't hit. Hope they fix him soon, he's a decent-ish fight, reminds me of horse dude from Sekiro but with magic.
The bossfights in general would be perfect if they balanced it a little more it feels to fast for Elden ring gameplay it’s like bloodborne or sekiro speed. The tracking is a little bit over the top and the heal catching is just brutal.
@@jayyaj I personally love the speed, it's challenging and keeps you in the edge of your seat and makes you make every move count, I had to start using openings on rellanna to heal instead of just doing it in the open, for example. Rather than trying to play the game like I did in the base game, it got harder so you adapt. To me it was just more Elden ring and I loved it... Gaius is still a prick though
Getting a near 20% damage increase at level 15 is pretty nice!
Good thing it came before I've reached the final boss and bayle
VILE BAYLE!!!
Last boss is a beast, took me hours to beat
@@jaguarjosh24 Yeah, final boss took me more than 5 hours. Never spent that much time on a boss after playing all souls games. I looked up a cheese a few times but stopped myself lmao
@@NailTeeth It was the only boss that I actually just straight up started blocking his entire moveset for. Got the Moore shield to +10 and just tanked with 90 Guard Boost. Still barely won and had to get somewhat lucky.
Makes me happy I just beat Bayle yesterday before the buff. I put him off for a bit to get more blessings, but he might be my favorite boss fight in Elden Ring. That was so much fun.
Of course, my top two bosses in ER are Blackblade Kindred (Caelid) and Ulcerated Tree Spirit, so take that for whatever it's worth.
Ahh, souls community overreacting and crying about a minor buff to a thing they aren't even forced to use, all while shouting "git gud" as a cheap way to dismiss any criticism towards their flawless, perfect game bestowed upon us by none other than our Lord and Saviour Fromsoftware, no matter how valid these criticisms might be. Classic.
if anyone ever cries a about a game being hard it's 100%, and if you don't like the bosses, just don't play it, simple as that
Too bad they didn’t add any cutscenes to the dlc…. 😒
Story trailer completely missing and kind of misleading. Story just ends. Done, you did it.. no end cutscene, no credits, just silence.
Spend 40 hours to just stand there with a stupid look on your face as everyone is dead, u stand alone, and no conclusion but ur own thoughts…. Oh and a 10!second cut scenes that gave no new context to ANYTHING, just “Promise me Brother” which we already had a sense that they conversed together anyway… we really didn’t need that and it was pretty pointless… Very disappointing end
Reading the reactions to the number changes reminds me why I hate Souls fans. So embarrassing. "I didn't beat it in the original way..." So cringe and embarrassing
Just beat it yesterday hours before the buffs. Feels good.
This is a good change because all the bosses just have a billion HP
all the ones Ive found so far are literally melting
@@w4tch0ut10 really good build
Good. The whole DLC was just forcing you to cheese everything before
Genuinely curious why anyone is upset over these changes? Ive seen those struggling being told to use the tools the game gives. Now that those tools ars a little stronger, the world is ending or something? Lose the ego, nobody cares if you are good at the video game. The fact that the community is quicker to insult the players struggling than help them out is cringe.
lmao of course just after i beat the final boss we get a patch. lol cant tell if im annoyed at what I dealt with or proud of my self
In fairness this doesn't change the final boss much at all unless you missed a whole bunch of fragments
Both sides of defense comparisons say pre patch
Right side is current patch. My bad
Scadutree blessing were a decent idea to put everybody on the same playing field, but yeah it was a bit tedious to get some of the later buffs past +12.
I kinda wish they did the following:
1. Give us a beast eye equivalent that tells us if there's a fragment nearby.
2. Made the catacombs or gaol rewards include a fragment. Why are they still just handing out spirit summons that we'll probably. never use
Am I the only one mad that they did this before I got the chance to beat the DLC? Imma just play offline mode and not update, because this is some BS.
I don’t mind this because it’s up to the player if you want to make it easier or not
Great changes imo, but people will still complain on both sides Im sure.
Dang I only had two rememberence bosses left and was at scadu 14. This is going to really up jump me and I may be able to just beat the boss I’m now with the extra damage.
For those curious what the difference is. At +13 blessing, I went from 1599 AR to 1704. My main weapon is +10 Rakasha Great Katana.
What build are you running because I feel like I can only dream of numbers like that my highest AR are rellana twinblades at 1127 but I’m int/faith

It's a scale adjustment not really a buff, and after my fight with the Death Knight i think they should have done alittle more.
It doesn’t make the final boss more fair and he still sooooo bullshit and not fun and he ruin the dlc for me

I don't know how people came up with the idea of a 5% increase. I tested these numbers on 2 different characters, each upgrade gave me 3.2% dmg and 2% defense increase, after +15 the atl went down to 2,7% and def to 1%. One is a str build, other one is a dex/faith build
Bosses dont need nerf, get good. But some items need even better buffs.
This was to address the "its too hard" crowd.
But it was too hard is good for replayability
Typical fromsoft gatekeeper elitist over here.
Commander Giaus is just broken, he needs to be nerfed, and I’m a believer that the bosses should be challenging
@@AntiSocialismo50bro I've played 15 hours without using a single upgrade. Just bc you're bad at the game or it's your first rodeo doesn't mean the core fans aren't having a blast.
@@thisisyou6450 Not everything is gatekeeping. We love the Fromsoftware games for a certain challenge and the fear that it will move too far away from that is understandable.
Difficulty isn’t the issue with this DLC. That’s what makes the game great. The lack of emphasis on new weapons and gear being stronger and needed made it boring. Most people beat the game with original game weapons.
I thought the leveling system was fine before hand. I was enjoying my explorations of the map to find each of the erdtree fragments
For real I didn't use a single upgrade until I got very stuck on Rellana. The side bosses might hit hard but you can still do great damage if your build is optimized. Build matters more in Elden Ring than any other of these games.
imo this is good for replayabilty, not that much for a first playthrough which i agree with you is perfectly fine.
real, my problems with the dlc are not doing too little damage or tanking damage. The real problem is the stupid mf hitboxes and input reads
@Jaguar689 the movesets and hit boxes for the bosses are definitely a little much. I'm all for a crazy boss fight but sometimes they just seem unfair
@@Jaguar689surprisingly I haven't noticed any input reading, at least not on the level of a crucible knight or a godskin
Youwy. I stumbled upon you early days Elden ring. And man. You helped me a lot. Not for the first playthrough (because is want to play blind) but for cool stats stuff in second third and fourth playthrough. What you are doing is really awesome and you deserve a bigger crowd.
I got a question. I'm already restless as a long time souls players. You must be times 10 as a souls content creator with all the new stuff. You took some time off? It's insane how much and thorough content you throwing at us man!! Love!
Those who beated the dlc SOLO with 0 CHEESES can rest now. Buffs or nerf doesn't matter we strong guys!
I wanted to fight the last boss at level 15, i'm currently 11. I think that's my new limit since both are 1.75x.
When is that supposed to happen? Cuz now I still don't see any update...
This new scaling system real killed co-op play, and exploring thanks to the furnace golems
People on X/twitter were immediately crying about the devs making the game easier lol...
Cool this will make my next playthrough more fun
W for replayability
Won't spoil it but the last boss needs a bit of a rework or nerf. The only boss ive genuinely believe needs a nerf. Before you spam get good i beat it no summons, it wasnt fun.
Lmao no he doesn’t
@@Oryxthetakeenking you seriously think he is a reasonable boss that's fair
Miyazaki literally said word for word that he wanted to push the limitations of what players can handle and that difficulty is what makes these games feel alive

The fact people can no hit him and are uploading it by the dozens it seems proves he's balanced
Good approach: don't nerf enemies, buff the tools the game gives you
Some of the enemies need to be nerfed as well, Imo.
@@2DFightergamingbro just run to the side and hide behind the jutted wall piece it stops his charge at start
@@awtodor If I play the DLC again in the future, I'll definitely try that out. Thank you for the tip.
I don’t like how the bosses just immediately rushes at u once u spawn in
I think a boss list and what amount of blessing is recommended for each of them would help people a ton.
I faced Mesmmer when i was level 12+
fun fact: if u think you don't have enough strength to fight a boss. find another blessing
they don't need to spoonfeed you on how strong you think you are, you're an adult human being capable of knowing when to do certain things
@@fortress7493 😊👍
In case you guys are wondering at 19 shard level the "buff" is a 2% physical resistance increase. The dlc is not going to be any "easier." This likely has to do with diminished returns on resistances.
Yeah I already had a high level blessing before the changes and I didn't see much of a difference. The people just starting are affected the most, for sure.
They do this the morning after I beat Radahn. I am in shambles rn

The only thing i found unfun about the dlc was the final boss. Its nothing but visual effects, 10 hit combo spam and even an attack that WILL roll catch you due to a delayed double hit attack.
I’m not updating until I beat the dlc. I’m already at the final boss was trying to search for stuff but I’ll probably hurry and beat him now.
They fixed Commander gaius' hit boxes too. He's actually a really fun boss now after being abysmal
This is the perfect answer because the people complaining were the people not using/finding scadushy blessings lol
They didn't fix any of the bugs in the DLC at all. Also tell them that I'll be back when they fix the DLCs bugs.
Kudos to those who beat the game pre. Just like those who beat Radahn pre nerf. I was neither none of those 😂 Just don't have enough time to play before they patch. Double edged sword since i am always late to the broken stuff before they get nerfed 😂😅
ok but... commander gaius dash hitbox nerf please. i want to actually roll through the attack and not be punished for being frame perfect between the boars horns
I literally had to swap my build because I was getting tired of how well I was doing with the new Curseblade’s Cirque.
Like a certain hit and run boss underground 💀
The graphics settings thing doesn’t help me at all, I’ve never had ray tracing enabled once and I’ve checked before and it never turned itself on or anything, still laggy frame rate though
Now PC crybabies can cruise from boss to boss and turn on their cheat to get every item without actually playing .. good for u guys
well it seems I wont gonna waste couple of hours on my 100% character just to find the last 2 frags I'm missing to get to tier20 blessing
Huh, so glad I turned off the network on my ps5, I was expecitng just bosses nerfs but damn
I’ve literally been doing my first play through without even using any of the fragments so I suppose there’s not much change for anyone else doing the same
Makes sense. Core path should be the focus and smooth. While explorers still get more rewards and bonuses.
Cool now I can only die in 3 hits, rather than 2
Of course after I already beat everything lol. Second character will like this lol.

They better allow for me to take off the scatree fragments. I have 7 right now and it won’t free right playing. Stop making my hard game easy
I've only seen absolute tryhards complain about this, even though players are not forced to use the fragment system
I really don't like that they did this now. Two weeks after the dlc is out sure, but at least give the people who want to beat it at the original difficulty some time before you nerf it.
Honestly good! Even having beat the DLC, there needs to be some buffs (if you want them)
a graph plot would've been nice
My biggest achievement in this game is beating bayle and sennesax, and soloing rellana before the buff.
