Rachel does a great job at directions and descriptions of locations. It makes a huge difference.
Well we appreciate that! If you could go to one of those locations which one would you do first?
@@NickandRachel Hard to say. I love the Smokies and I have enjoyed every place I’ve been there. I thought the abandoned town was interesting and also the very sad plane wreckage. I enjoy all of it really.
The plane crash is really crazy to see! I've been up there three times and it never gets old. Everything is just so beautiful up there though 🌲
I like the Pearl Harbor tree because it was planted in my birth year 1941. I was about 9 mos. old. Lol Thanks Rachel really enjoy your commentary.
Yeah the Pearl harbor tree really is special 😊 well that's awesome! Glad you enjoyed it we always have a good time making these videos we get to learn so much!

If you haven't already considered subscribing we upload videos like this weekly. Appreciate you watching ❤️
Loved seeing the courthouse rocks! I love seeing Native landmarks and hearing how they were used. Hope you didn't get too wet!
Yeah that was really interesting to see! Apparently there's some old carvings up there from the settlers in the area we missed we'll have to go back up there again one day! We weren't too worried about getting wet we just didn't want to have a tree fall on us the winds picked up so bad it was crazy!
Share this video with a friend if you think they'll enjoy it as well. Appreciate the support!
Thanks guys for sharing these gems! Lots of new places to check out the next time we head to the Smokies!
Oh yeah, tons of awesome spots up there! If you could visit only one which would you do first from this video?
I love these videos, you guys are so lucky you have all of this beautiful nature and history you can see and explore. Thanks for sharing!
Well thank you! We have to travel about 4 and 1/2 hours to get to the Smokies but it's definitely worth the drive! We really enjoy putting together those videos 😊
Awesome video guys!
Thanks man we appreciate it! Hopefully you can come up there with us one day and we can show you around
Nice video. The waterfall looked very interesting. 😎
Yeah it was pretty cool! Falling into a cave like that. Would love to know where it came out from!
I really love these videos! My favorite spot in this one would have to be Avent Cabin. In the other videos probably House of the Fairies and Browning Knob plane crash. Those were both pretty interesting to see.
We really enjoyed all of those locations! The cabin was really fun to find and a beautiful hike there as well!
Good job , love it this video, you explained so great ,,
Thank you glad you enjoyed it 🙂 please share it with a friend that you think might enjoy the video as well. Which one was your favorite?
Those look like some great spots! These are a great series of videos that y’all have done in the Smokies. Hopefully videos tourists will click on for years to come!
Oh yeah, enjoy it all those locations! We always have a really fun time tracking down these hidden spots!
Which one would you go to first if you had the chance?
@@NickandRachel I’m all about waterfalls lol

This ought to help be a guide for those adventure seekers that look for a little extra on their hiking trips. Very nicely done.
Well thank you appreciate it! Hopefully one day we can all go up there together and we can show you around to all these cool locations!
@@NickandRachel sounds like a good idea to me!
Yeah you guys will really enjoy!
I recognize that rain storm in the video of Courthouse Rock. We were the other family on that trail that day. Pleasure meeting you both!
Awesome! The full video of our hike will be coming out pretty soon and you guys will see your cars parked down there on the road lol
That wind storm got crazy at the top when we were on the way down we practically ran down the mountain until we could see the parking lot.
Pleasure meeting you guys as well!
This has been a great series, guys! Always so well-researched and narrated; so many hidden gems! Enjoyed watching this from start to end.

@@NickandRachel courthouse rock i want see that one in person yall have really inspired me to stop just working then tv i got out on our property hiked back to two different creeks and little water fall and i must say i have got fat and out of shape .
Thank you i hope you both have a blessed day
Courthouse Rock was really cool wish we had more time but a really bad storm blew in on us really fast! Trees are falling down and it was pretty crazy we had to practically run down the mountain.
Awesome! Get out there and keep exploring!
Awesome 👏
😁
I love the story line of your video
We definitely had a great time filming this one! Glad you enjoyed it 😊 if you haven't already check out part 1 and 2 we explore a bunch more hidden gems all of them are pretty awesome!

Popped over from Nicole Hikes A lot. New Subscriber and Supporter from GA.
That's crazy I just looked at this comment and I'm actually watching her newest video now just started it lol
Well thank you for coming over and checking out the channel ☺️ we're from Georgia as well!
Man another great group of things to check out!! Of course the storm whips up when you're up in a high exposed area!! Awesome rock formation!! I didn't know there was an Indiana bat species! I presume they are native to Indiana or something!? We've had several caves in state parks closed off to protect bat populations!! Thanks for putting these together!!
Yeah it was crazy it pretty much blew in out of nowhere! Practically ran down the mountain lol
I'm not sure if they're native to Indiana or not maybe! Glad they take precautions and protect them they're valuable to the ecosystem!
Thanks for checking it out !
Love it and great tips and series! Safe Travel!
Thanks! What was your favorite gem out of the three videos so far?
@@NickandRachel all of them really but I was suprise that Ghost Town in the Sky was open because I thought it was close.
It's still closed they're talking about reopening it
@@NickandRachel oh
When I saw your backdrop scenery, I knew you had to be in Cades Cove before you even mentioned it.
What a magical place.
Thank you for taking the time to take us there with you!
It is beautiful there 🙂 the opening and closer is from The visitor center in Cherokee.
Another beautiful spot.
Glad you enjoyed the video we really have fun making these! If you know anybody who might be interested in it please share it with them 🙂
I knew about all of these except the Pearl Harbor tree. Thanks for the info, I'll go check it out next time I'm in Cades Cove!
No problem! We did a detailed video on how to find that Pearl harbor tree on the channel if you want to check that out. Thanks for watching!
So fun!! I love all the places y’all find in the Smokies! I can’t wait to visit with the kids and find some of them this summer! I think my fave so far was the troll bridge, the one that’s pretty easy to get to. We’ll definitely be taking the kids to that one! 💕
We love finding all those cool places! Your kids will definitely love the troll bridge also the abandoned tunnel is pretty easy to find as well kids love it because you can go in there and yell lol
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Absolutely beautiful ❤️ such a hidden treasure it looks beautiful with all the flags and I loved the rock too. The falls were stunning. that slave cemetery was absolutely incredible to see. Oh man. Loved the cabin too Great directions and historic facts on all these hidden gems guys. Great job Rachel 👍❤️
It was awesome to see you coming up that hill! The Pearl harbor tree was a special place for sure 😊
The cemetery was differently need to see and I never thought I would see coins on a grave in the US! I'm glad they have preserved it in the park and I hope anyone who visits treats it with respect.
Hope you get to check out some one day! Thanks for checking it out 🙂
Loved Mingus mill!! Wish we had this video wen we visited so that we could have seen the graveyard??
Well now you got something to look forward to next time!
Loved this series! I’ve been to the slave cemetery, and was only a few hundred yards from Mayna’s cabin once, and didn’t know how close I was so I turned back.
Awesome I'm glad you enjoyed them! More than likely will do another one in a few months!
Well now you definitely got to go back and check it out we'll be putting out a full length video on how to find the cabin here pretty soon.
I just joined your community I found you watching Nicole Hikesalot
Well welcome to the channel 🙂 thanks for coming over we appreciate it! We upload videos every week so don't be a stranger 😝
@@NickandRachel I sent you guys a message on your Facebook page
Just received it! Will be sending you a sticker out tomorrow!
@@NickandRachel thanks guys
I'm heading up towards the end of May get busy uploading the full videos :-)
Thanks for watching! Well if they're not all out by then you can always email us and we will be happy to tell you anything you need to know!
I’m not use to Rachel having her hair down. I only speak in 5-10 seconds. I don’t know how Rachel can speak to a topic for awhile in 1 take. The flag tree was a great idea. Castle Rock seems so cool. Love all the lore around it. The pacing of this video is like a vlog format! The 🌈 at the Falls is so cool. The gravesite section seems pretty creepy.
In the videos where she is talking a lot to the camera we do a lot of research and we actually write down a script on our phone with the bullet points and then I start shooting 📷
Try to make this video a little bit faster paced hope people like it lol
Learning all the historic facts of the places we go is definitely one of our favorite parts of the process!
Guess we better start working on a part 4 🤣
How many miles round trip to/from rainbow cave falls?
So I just looked at our trip log from the parking lot of schoolhouse Gap trail... We visited rainbow cave Falls and blowhole cave which is right beside rainbow cave Falls.... Out and back was 5.5 mi for us.
Probably a little less considering we walk back and forth filming and stuff like that so I would imagine 4. 5 - 5 miles. Out and back
