Hisuian Decidueye is a new version of Decidueye! Pokemon Legends: Arceus gave us a new toy and it coming to Scarlet and Violet! In this video I give a competitive look at Hisuian Decidueye and Triple Arrows in Competitive Pokemon and why it will be really good in future games! Hope you guys enjoy! I think it's kind of an interesting choice to make the Hisuian version able to hit the normal version with fighting moves.
From a Ghost to a Foresighter, clever.
It's ancestors used to fight spirits, eventually they became one with the spirits as hunters in nature

Imagine you use triple arrows and it crits, flinches your opponent and lowers their defense simultaneously
Fr tho. I can see poketubers making it some sort of challenge to fish for all three effects and they’ll call it the triple arrows challenge or something like that😂

@@asierrv I‘d assume it‘s not like that, since Triple Arrows effects don‘t correlate to one another. Tri Attack can cause one of three status conditions, of which a Pokemon can only have one at a time. Triple Arrows on the other hand has flinch, stat drop and higher crit chance, which are three separate things, so I‘d assume they can all happen at once. Can‘t the elemental fangs also cause flinch and status condition at the same time? 🤔

This guy was awesome in my playthrough of Legends, definitely expected it to be good in actual competitive

Being base 60 speed, you could do a Brave nature, -Spe,+Atk, and he'd be a phenomenal Trick Room Sweeper
Damn it looks like most of the Hisuian starters will be VGC threats. Tailwind H Typhlo and Trick Room H Deci will dominate. H Samurott will have fun invalidating taunt and just wallbreaking with Sharpness.

It actually also causes Focus energy, I gave him a razor claw and he has an almost 100% rate to crit with leaf blade if he’s used Triple Arrows beforehand
I remember when PLA was first revealed and before Hisuian forms were revealed, I was set on picking Decidueye. Then the Hisuian forms leaked and my first impression on H-Decidueye was that it was ugly. Then, I looked at the design more and realized it was actually pretty good, then I picked it as my starter and it grew to be my favourite Hisuian form. I'm especially glad it's initial HA of Long Reach was changed because it was looking pretty mediocre.
I like to think that Alolan Decidueye is an arboreal owl, with Hisuian Decidueye being a burrowing owl

Decidueye is actually based on some extinct owl native to Hawaii (I forgot what it's called) which is why it has the long legs and ghost typing
Decidueye is a Stilt Owl. As someone above mentioned, its an extinct species of owl native to Hawaii

Triple arrows has to be the most amount of affects for a move in pokemon.

@@superguyperson Tri Attack only lets you have one of those effects tho. Triple Arrows can do them all on the same turn

I’m still surprised to this day that a Gen 7 Pokémon was given a regional form, especially a starter Pokémon that’s really popular!
I honestly think Hisuian Decidueye's speed being lower is better because before it had a middling speed making it hard for it to take advantage of trick room, but this pretty low speed stat makes it easier for it to take advantage of it.
I love Hisuian Decidueye. I love normal Decidueye, too! Probably my favorite Pokemon.
Apparently to this guy every dlc hisuian Pokémon is gonna make a splash in the competitive scene.
It still has roost and defog too so you can even use it as a support mon who gets to clear hazards while threatening gholdengo

Legends Arceus has so many Goldhengo counters I wouldn’t be surprised if it drop out of usage
Between them, scarf lando-t, and spdef heatran, gholdengo is in trouble. Definitely wont drop out of OU, but definitely wont be top 5 anymore

Yo… Hisuian Decidueye is a Pokémon used to hunt spirits… it’s scrappy ability lets it hit ghost types… Hisuian Zoroark is a Ghost/Normal type that looks like a spirit with its crazy hair… if Decidueye hit it, it would be super effective because of the Normal typing… yo…. YO… THEY WENT EXTINCT? I WONDER WHY
Would love to see the potential of Hisuian Zoroark next, ik it gets no new abilities but that typing is incredibly good with Stab Hyper Voice
3 immunities on an illusion pokemon is huge too. Especially when those include ghost and fighting: stab types for the 2 top mons in the meta rn

Ngl, thank you for the incites with all the transferable Pokémon for this gen, I was thinking getting into competitive and I love the fact that you make these vids, it’s a huge help, so thank you. When I get to world champs, I’m gonna thank you man.
What's really good is how fantastic are its matchups in the current metagame. Just seeing how well breloom is currently doing, it's clear that a pokemon with the same type and more bulk will be amazing as it destroys two of the biggest breloom counters, dragapult and gholdengo. Breloom will still have the nich of having technician mach punch and spore but deciduey's better bulk and access to scrappy as well as an excellent movepool will clearly add competition.
I'm sooo happy for H-Decidueye! He's become my favorite Grass starter and this little boost just makes me so proud of the autumn owl guy! 🦉🍁
Basically, there are 2 conditions for H. Decidueye to work:
1. Set up Trick Room
2. Keep it away from Flying types
This Pokemon is what made me love Pokemon Legends Arceus so much

Gotta love how a half-dozen abilites were retconned to grant immunity to Intimidate
they finally made a decidueye that would really benefit from decidueye's hidden ability
only to change the ability
Scrappy is amazing on it though. We already know breloom matchs up fantastically in the meta. Deciduey beats the two most popular breloom counters, dragapult and gholdengo, has a much better bulk which allow it to function better as a pivot and let it use its interesting defensive typing. Without scrappy it would probably still be outclassed by breloom, especially in a meta without ferothorn's iron bards.

This clip/video made me appreciate Decidueye even more glad I chose it as my starter in Legends, didn’t use Rowlet prior to legends.
I really want to see a hisuian typhloshion explained now, I know he is not a big change unlike other hisuian pokemon, but hisuian typhloshion is sick asf
H typhlosion is disappointing tbh such a sick design just wish it had something unique about it that makes it stand out
H samurott sets up spikes while attacking with sharpness boost
H decedueye has the most u unique move in a while with 3 different affects with scrappy too
While typhlosion just gets shittier hex...I mean yea has a chance to burn but its redundant you are running hex on a mon that already has a condition you aren't using a low base power ghost move just for a slight chance to burn its trash and unoriginal running actual hex is literally better bc infernal parade is weaker as well they didn't even bother to give it a good ability not even something gimmicky but they decided to give it frisk they should of just given it flash fire it didn't have to be good but wish it was at least unique 🤦♂️

I love playing Hisuian Deci with scope lens because when I click Leaf blade or Triple arrows, it almost always crits, it’s so much fun.
You really want Pokémon legends RCS in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Arguably with Scarlet being able to look into the past and Violet being able to look into the future. It’s time we start thinking bigger about the Pokémon that will be transferable in Pokémon home.
Also, lower base speed means that it can be more effective in trick room teams. It will be a very interesting pokémon

A lot of the Hisui sig moves were tuned down a bit to be more balanced... But some intern at Game Freak fought tooth and nail to keep Triple Arrow as strong as it was in PLA
With that speed it could be a trick room sweeper

I could see a Terra fighting work holding metronome with Tripple Arrows/Filler/Knock Off/Swordsdance
I can't fucking believe his signature move kept the three effects, and H. Goodra's signature got turned into Acid Armor with half as much PP.
Also worth noting it gets defog, meaning you could force a switch on Gholdengo or keep the opponent from switching into Gholdengo and then defog to deal with any hazards on the field. Gholdengo does get both psychic and psyshock however, and to counter this decidueye-h could use Tera steel since it’s an already great defensive typing and resists MIR and any psychic moves. Overall great mon.

Hisuian decidueye helped me a lot during that final battle against volo. I made Poké satan struggle to death while decidueye ate up those attacks. Some healing items helped keep me in it and it was just funny to me

Wiat that's how triple arrows worked in legends Arceus it had high action speed (flinch) lowered there defensive stats (physical defense drop hopefully you knew that already) and pumped you up (high crit rate)
