The Scots Irish were Scottish covenanters who moved to the Province of Ulster during the plantation of Ireland in the 16th/17th centuries. In Ireland they ran into further persecution and emigrated to America from the late 17th century onwards. They were one of the most influential groups of people in the early history of the USA.
Luckily it hasn't spread from Scotland yet. I'm pleased that the vast majority of politicians in the UK are against this law and think it is ridiculous. It's just a shame that the current ruling party of the UK proper can't get involved - Scotland has rights to self determination like every other UK member country.

For additional context, Police Scotland is officially committed to following up each and every one of the thousands of hate crime complaints made. A few weeks ago the same Police force decided they will no longer pursue burglaries and the like, for the lack of resources.
I'm 50 and i grow up in Poland So i have experience communism first hand for 16 years, I live in UK at the moment but I'm running away from this country in next two months In a process of saleing everything I own In UK and then I'm off. UK is becoming very much communist country. When i was 15 my teacher did explain to us that main factor to control communist country is to make everyone very busy so they don't have time to think or rebel. Keep kids and young adults as long as possible at schools, keep adults working as long and as much as possible, We have that next stage is to get rid of freedom of speech which is happening now.

As someone who is Scottish, Was a firefighter and college lecturer in scotland and now live in Canada, I can't believe this... Well, I can but I don't want to. it's not about protecting certain people's feelings, it's about being able to write some new laws that enable them to arrest CERTAIN people. Remember, authorities don't have to enforce the law with every instance, but they can use it when it's convenient for them
