I always learn a lot, and enjoy your videos. I am wondering how you overcome the issue of 2-step authentication required by US banks and many governmental agencies while living in Panama? They require a US phone number to send you the authentication code to access their websites. I have heard that people who port their US phone number to google voice eventually receive an "access denied" message, Skype is also hit and miss outside the US apparently. Is their a foolproof way to have a US number in Panama without paying for a US phone plan?

One comment does have me curious...it does seem like a lot of americans who had moved overseas did come back during the "vid". I was never sure of what the reasoning was, I'm sure it varied from person to person.
Have you ever been stopped by the police in Panama and had any trouble with being asked for a bribe or anything like that? Maybe you overlooked my question below from your last video. BTW, just delete all the negative comments and focus on the good ones. You’re channel will do better!!! What location (Building, Street, Neighborhood, etc) would you recommend for Panama City for us to start with? Something maybe close to everything so we don’t need a vehicle. Like a starting place to research the area before we would decide to make it permanent.
Sure! So many will say that Panama isn’t racist and that is a more of a classist society. Money talks here. Are people targeting you because of your skin color? Not that I have seen. What I have seen is communities that have the most people of color tend not to have the best infrastructure. If I look at certain types of jobs here, I don’t really see much diversity. Many people of different races and faiths feel safer here than in the USA.
@@AbroadAbility Thank you so much! That is what I was wondering. When trying to evaluate where one wants to live these issues matter. I appreciate the thoughtful reply!
@@AbroadAbility Panama is just like any other place in the world. It is not about black, yellow, brown or white. If you strive for excellence, success will follow. I take for example Colon where most people of color live in Panama. I wonder why can't they try to improve their city. A can of paint and some nails go a long way. I am embarrassed as a Panamanian to drive thru Colon and see the people walking around, standing in corners while their buildings and houses are falling apart waiting for handouts from the government.
Hilarious alot of commenters say "America" which is ignorant as North America is 21 countries including Panama! The USA is in the America but is not America..
My entire family is from Panamá on both sides for generations. I am first generation born in the US and whenever I choose to go back home that is my business and no one can tell me otherwise. My Afro Antillean Ancestors built the Panamá Canal. The US funded it. The US also bombed barrios in Panamá, including my family’s province of Colón, murdering thousands of innocent civilians days before Christmas. I live in L.A. and this is a nightmare if you are not a celebrity or one of the elites. This state and government are creating the circumstances for people becoming homeless and mentally ill. Expecting people’s income to be 3 times these exorbitant rents is ludicrous. This country is decaying. It is crumbling from within. Illegal immigrants are being treated better than citizens, veterans and elders. I was born on a US Air Force base during the Vietnam era. I will do what/go wherever I want to. Period.
I agree with you. I'm living my best life in Panama.

We only get a short amount of time to walk the Earth and enjoy the life we have. I wouldn't want to waste all of my time fighting a system that doesn't prioritize its own citizens.
I think you and I are in the same age group. Any thoughts/ advice on living abroad with elderly parents in the US? Maybe a separate video? I enjoy your videos 👍
This is an excellent question. I look forward to the response.
lol I love your semi-snarky responses! SO glad I found your channel! Can we be friends in real life??!?
The only people who are hating on you are the people who wish they were in your shoes, but their feet are too small.
I'm asking again, do you have an office in panama, once I get to Panama.
Retiring next June, heading that way.
@@vincemurry4201 hello Vince, I do not have an office. Congrats on your pending retirement. I am working in a website where people can schedule a consulting call with me. Keep an eye out for that announcement. 🎉🎉🎉
@@AbroadAbility Gotcha , and thanks for responding, means alot. Already got a passport and I'm eyeing casco viejo.
Bachelor/6-800 a month rent.
I hope I'm in the darn ballpark.
Have a good day dear.
15:25 😢 but tru
Just like you, my haters inspire me...I left the U.S. 12 years ago, and I've lived in half a dozen countries I'd return to before I'd return there...I don't hate the U.S., there are just better places to be....
The Panamanian people did not ask anybody to build the canal or to be freed from Colombia.
Hi! Girl, I can't wait to get where you are, these people with their stupid commentaries are just laughable. Your generous gifts are great responses from you to them😆
Evidently you’re not a real black woman if you’re not struggling and “fighting” for something you should already have. I love your replies. Folks don’t want black women to be happy. Ever. And if you are happy, then it’s triggering somebody else. Lols! Instant sub!
I’ve heard it’s common and I’ll soon be driving here in PC and kind of nervous about that. Great channel been watching you for a while. Looking forward to seeing rio abajo in the next video because I was just there a couple of days ago. Keep the vids coming and f$@k the haters
Personally I wouldn't even Qualify myself to idiots will mean comments, but you do you.
Cause you could be talking about other good stuff.
No disrespect.
Thanks, Vince. No disrespect was taken at all. 💪🏽 I don’t think you are wrong. It took me years to even respond like this but I think people need to be aware of some of the mentality and push back they might receive. That said, I didn’t personally respond to these nay sayers individually, they are not worth my time or energy.
@@AbroadAbility I get it, you seem nice and real to me, Im a very social person, this is why I'm trying to get all the contacts I can before I get there.
Money's on deck , so that's not a problem.
The problem might be hanging with the wrong people.
I'll see ya when I get there , God willing.
@@vincemurry4201 you will find your tribe. It can take some time to weed people out or for most, it can be apparent right away…
@@AbroadAbility Funny you would say that Because I'm Choctaw Native American & Black
@@vincemurry4201 ha!
So you’re one of does RUclipsrs that pick and choose who to answer. Now I understand why you only have 7k subs. Please find another way to make money.
Would you expand on your comment regarding, “… there is racism in Panama - it just presents differently.”
S
The people that criticize don't even have a passport. They don't even leave the little town they call home so what can you expect from them?
Period.
