Touring Disney's New Grand Floridian DVC Rooms Themed To Mary Poppins! Easter Eggs, Tour & Treats!

- In today's vlog we head to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort to tour the new DVC studio, one bedroom and two bedroom rooms. Thank you to Disney for inviting us out this media preview. We got to see the grand opening ceremony with some fun characters! We also got to check out the Mary Poppins easter eggs and design details in the newly renovated rooms. They definitely look more modern and clean after this refresh but still have the victorian style design elements that you know and love about the Grand Floridian resort. Then we get some seasonal treats and try them back at home with Jenn and Jackson, I was excited to see what Jackson thought about the fun flavors, spoiler alert, he loved them! The watercolor appearing artwork in the bathroom is a nod to Burt's chalk drawings that they jump into for a day at the fair. I love the room design, a definite refresh.

Y’all are amazing parents. I love how y’all speak to Jackson - like he’s an equal and not a “little kid” with silly questions. EVERY TIME he asks “why” you respond in a thoughtful and loving way. And he asks “why” a lot 😂 it’s so nice to see ❤️

I like how the new rooms are themed to Mary Poppins but for the opening presentation they had Alice and friends lol like we don't have Mary Poppins characters we could have used.
Tim I feel like that first room. In the bathroom. The painting reminds me of Mary Poppins. When they jump into the drawing. And go to the circus.
I thought that too. They went to the fair and the painting in the bathroom looks like it.
And now we know what Tim was doing while Jen, Jackson and Lynn were swimming at the Sunnyside House 😉. I think I’d like both those treats!! Yumm💚

Just an FYI. Tim mentioned that the Resort Studio was "cheaper", but I just checked the point sheets and they are the same as the Deluxe Studio, so no discount for the different rooms.

This video was a great overview of the new DVC rooms, thank you! I will say though (as a DVC member myself) that the info those people gave you regarding points for those rooms was incorrect. The points needed for the new Resort Studio rooms is the exact same as what’s needed for a Deluxe Studio in the original DVC building. They’re cheaper than 1 or 2 bedroom rooms, but the Studios have always been less. We love the Grand and can’t wait to try these new rooms. Thanks for the tour!

I had heard a rumor that there are plans to “modernize” the grand Floridian, and I hope against hope that they DON’T do that because the Victorian esthetic is so beautiful. That little show was certainly…interesting 😆
I wonder what happens to the leftover appliances??? I’m sure they still work fine when they’re taken out.

The rest of the Grand Floridian needs badly updated, especially for the price. We happened to get upgraded and stayed there. The theme was 90’s grandma’s house where you got in trouble for touching things. We walked around and just joked about all the wall hangings and decor that could be found at Goodwill. The Rose and Crown was excellently done, but only serves to more sharply contrast how outdated everything else is.
We toured last week and they said now they are moving to all the other rooms to start redoing them. It’s a stark difference how bright and airy the new rooms are in comparison

We stayed in a refurbished 2 bedroom like that one and oh my goodness it was amazing. Our view was of the monorail going by! Once in a lifetime experience for sure!

I'm a fan of Mary Poppins & I Loved going to Have Breakfast with Mary Poppins as a kid at the Grand Floridan. And, I think they should bring 1900 Park Faire back. Which I think Jackson would love!
I guess they didn’t want the whole day to be fully Mary Poppins themed, and it’s also easier for the Alice characters to be “silly” and run around. MP has mostly face characters which gets a bit boring.

Nice video! The resort studios actually are not less points than the rest of the Grand Floridian villas, the amount is the same as the studios in the existing DVC building. Only the 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms are more points.
Damn so why would people stay in the regular rooms versus a deluxe studio…. I don’t even understand why they’re trying to make more dvc acting like they’re bringing more options when it costs the same as another option and it’s all expensive as heck

Very nice. About time they updated the Grand Floridian rooms. Great theming. I'd always rather theming be stronger, but given the high-end nature of this resort, I think this is pretty great. It's not like there's any loss with the old rooms. Definitely a huge upgrade, and makes it more worth considering as a resort. (Whereas right now, it would be my last choice since it's super overpriced -- DVC and regular.)

The Christmas time I stayed in a grand room those mattresses were higher than I could climb up to get onto the bed! But nice area to stroll around in winters 🧵🪡👗
Florida Fun Fact: Florida rabbits are the only breed of rabbit that can swim! They have water-repellant fur and webbed toes.

I would potentially rent points for these newer rooms, as that might be a way for the value. I see them as regular, but newly updated, hotel rooms, not the super big DVC rooms. While jumping through the hurdles of renting DVC might be a headache I haven't experienced yet, these more classy rooms might be worth it. Especially for magic hours as well.

Kind of hard to tell from the angle you show that small piece of glass on the old Cadillac, Tim, but if you can open it so it opens to give access to the interior of the vehicle, it looks like a precursor to "wing windows". I'm not a car expert by ANY means, but I did grow up in the 60's (19660's, not 1860's! LOL), when they had crank windows, no power steering, and wing windows. Those windows much smaller than the main window, and opened sideways - giving a small amount of fresh air, instead of rolling down the huge window, especially if it was raining. We all used to use them to flick the ashes off our cigarettes if it was raining. LOL.
I would DEFINITELY have to get an accessible room in the new resort studios (as if I could EVER afford to be staying there!) because the tub/shower combo, and no grab bars in the tub area, would make it VERY challenging for me to get in/out, especially with the sliding glass door blocking off 1/2 the way in/out. I do love the color palette (my favorite color is blue) and the chandelier in the room. Nice that they do use much less points, but I'm sure the "price" is still exorbitant though, as DVC itself is. Wow - I thought the "refresh schedule" used to be MUCH shorter than 7 and 14 years, but maybe I'm mistaken. Because of the color palette, I actually like the new smaller room better than the 2-bedroom, although I do love that big shower. Again - wish there were grab bars near the tub.
The treats looked very pretty, very Insta. But I'm sure WAAAAAAY too sweet for me, and like everything else these days -= WAAAAAAAY overpriced. Enjoyed watching you all try them, especially the always-adorable Jackson. :)

Tim, the smaller Windows on the car were used to direct air into the car while having the main windows up or you could do both windows down and smaller vents open as well.
Great tour always wanted to stay at GF. Only one I haven't stayed at on monorail loop. Sorry those marshmallows didn't look good. Thanks Trackers
I am a DVC member so I pulled up a point chart. The points for standard and lake views for these new resort studios are identical to those for the deluxe studio rooms. The only difference is there is a theme park view in the resort studios, which is of course more points per night.
Yep I'm doing my research into whether we want to buy into DVC and they're the same points per night. Also from everything I've seen the new studios are actually about 20% bigger, albeit without the split bathroom and the kitchenette.
I think they'll be good for adults only, park focussed trips but I would stay in the other studios or elsewhere if it was a trip with the family.
Came here to say this. Looks like the resort studio TP view is even more "expensive" than the Deluxe Studio TP view.
