Love your music; also your genuine it’s hard to explain to impatient people. You have a love for what music becomes once the creativity brings it to birth.

Thanks for this marvelous video, I love Tom Scholz guitar sound, he was a master using those distortions in that era

ty I don't claim these are authentic but at least in the ballpark.

Great video again man. Like you said, the Boston sound is just ballpark, Tom did improve and change it over the years, and the sound he still uses he perfected to the Walk On-album, Third Stage was still sounding more like early 80's album despite using Rockman amps at that point (spend too long time alone in the cellar perhaps haha). He didn't use the dry sound as much in later years as you demonstrated here, instead, he opted more deeper sound for rhythm guitars and mode mid-tone sound for lead guitar parts. That's how I see it.

You could still run your horn through this setup and get a boston Guitar solo sound For your horn! Heh. Might sound cool.

@@TruthSurge you have a point...never thought of that...but i used to have a Digitech pedal id run my horn through. It was fun...had octaves...phaser...flanger and wah wah!!! 🤘

@@JK-js2td yeah, it's fun once in a while to use some effects on sounds. It's like spice usually. Too much and you ruin it or get bored. I love the idea of "what if" and that maybe there is something new someone has not done yet or discovered. Not that I'll discover it but it's nice to think there is something maybe I personally haven't done that would be fun to try. I should try to see if I can get this GR-55 to track properly. I bought it but never used it cuz I couldn't get the thing to spit out just the notes I played. It spit out tons of noise and MIDI garbage as well but then I had it set for BASS instead of GUITAR because.... wait for it... I had NO IDEA the damn thing had a SWITCH on the back for guitar or bass. :( who would have guess that with a name GR-55 (it's a GUITAR SYNTH, not a BASS SYNTH). anyway... such is life.... :)

Tom sholtz actually in the late 80s early 90s had a effects box it was called Rockman effects plug in and it was Boston sound, it was a awesome effects about 10"x2" .

@@jimcogswell824 I know he made a few things to emulate that Boston sound. I just never bought any so I made my own sounds using plugins. I also enjoy turning knobs and seeing or HEARING things happen. thx

Man, get to the point. You don't need to tell the story of the universe to describe how to dial in a sound in guitar rig.
