They change in game settings bro. A true speed run would take days bro, but I believe for a speed run to be authentic you cant modify the game at all, it must be default settings.
there is also a default catagory on speedrun.com where everything is on default singleplayer settings but take 20 hours plus (it least the island one does) which very few people are willing to do. these rates just make the game faster paced and the high damage numbers on allows for i guess more creative ways of shortcutting the game that default cant do to the same extent.
@@Sully_onb if your refering to the rates/shortcuts for what we call easy mode speedrunning then go to speedrun.com's ark page and on the left u will see a discord link there are people on there who can answer your questions (I will as well i just cant be bothered over youtube comments), watch the newest WR's by den and zenith for the newest meshing/shortcut strats and rates are both on the site and in the discord for speedrunning

I’m not sure I understand the dimetrodon thing, how did the drake hatch immediately? And how come you had no cryo cooldown without mods installed?
because the hatch speed and mature speed for easy runs is set to 1000000000 it instantly hatched

why wouldn't it be a thing? i dont want to sit there for 20+ hours watchin a default speed run... this is more my pace, n its fun to watch =D
