Love the early 80s kitchen....a tv, decorative copper pans on the wall, and pyrex pans for cooking.....the height of sophistication back then lol! If only Orchard Manor could have been preserved and kept as a museum to Dors. Apart from anything its my dream home!
Diana Dors was so wonderful! She had more and more charisma as she aged - gaining weight and wrinkles did not diminish her, in fact I prefer the mature, wonderful woman to the young starlet of her youth. That she died aged just 52 was a terrible tragedy - she had so much more life to live.
The year is 1983, and the untimely death of Diana Dors aged 52, was the following year, on May 4, 1984, midway between the deaths of Tommy Cooper on April 15, and Eric Morecambe on May 28.
I was a child at the time, and well recall all those sad deaths of much loved British entertainers (I was watching the TV variety show that Tommy Cooper collapsed and died on - ironically called 'Live From Her Majesty's'). The world of showbiz was much diminished by their loss. It is a reminder to us all, that people are unique, and utterly irreplaceable. God bless.
Tragic that Jason would die aged 50 - even younger than his lovely mum. Let's hope they've been reunited, along with Alan Lake. Such a tragic premature end to all of their lives.
How lovely to see Diana at home cooking in her kitchen - apparently that was when she was happiest, wearing a comfy track suit with her hair pulled back into a ponytail cooking supper for her husband and their teenage son. The quaint leaded windows of Orchard Manor reveal a hint of the fabulous, warm and welcoming home it was.
It is unbelievable to think that Diana was dead within two years of this TV am clip ?. The only I personally think that has only slightly resembled Diana in out more modern times for stunning looks and glamour was the late Anna Nicole Smith who too died young.

Lmao the beginning where the man promised all the gifts if his wife lost the few pounds she gained is ridiculous... men always want women to look a certain way but they let themselves go and never pick back up they start to bald no hair lines beer belly sex drive is slowed all that and we can't complain we just gotta adapt but when it comes to us women its if you do this ill do this but if you don't either we stay in a miserable marriage or im going to leave you for the next lmao I don't care if your a great mother home maker wife or friend the fact that physically I lost attraction over something shallow as weight is crazy... not to say that it isn't understandable if you met me at 125 pounds and I went to 200 plus obese weight then its understandable I just feel like as much as you might want someone to work on themselves you also have shit to work on but some men they don't try to even see that btw this isn't for all men
She was aging, it's not a crime. And she would have loved to age more, but tragically cancer took her soon after this was recorded. Don't be afraid of growing older - it's far better than the alternative!
@@karenweger6314 If you believe the late great Diana Dors was a man you not only need a psychiatrist - you need an optician, lol! I won't even dignify your other, poisonous slander with a response. Safe to say you aren't fit to clean this fabulous woman's stilettoes. Bore off cretin!
@@davidtomlins9759 No, sadly they are referring to Diana Dors. A few years ago Diana's youngest son Jason dated a woman with mental health issues, who sued him for domestic assault. In court, he gave evidence that she claimed to have been sexually assaulted by both his mother and his father Alan Lake, when she was a child. Which rather begs the question of why he was dating her (or she him) at all! That totally unfounded, malicious slander then made its way into the national media coverage of the trial. And a few idiots have swallowed it wholesale and repeat it on public forums like this one. Diana Dors was a great lady and it saddens me to read nonsense like that.
Absolutely adore her , always have & always will.

So unfair, she should've had so many more years.
