He is Prince Siegfried's mentor and confidant, a member of the royal family's staff.
So of course he runs into the woods. Of course! 😄

I know what you mean. Yeah, it's iconic. Yeah, all classical dancers want to win their spurs in these roles. But this point, I've seen it more times than I actually need or want to in one lifetime. Nutcracker: same, times two.
