I just wish everyone, regardless of race, age, ethnicity, or social class would realize that we are all human and be kind to one another and not lose themselves to fear.
The world is either amazing and terrifying. We can make the change in our lives by recognizing what’s wrong. There’s no doubt everyone wants something different, but that’s where common sense has to be applied. That’s how the human kind has been able to survive (homo sapiens, which are capable of knowing any kind strategies, not like the neanderthals). Religious conflicts, recreational drug use, ecological disputes and every sort of evil should not be what human kind has to go through. This reminds me of the battling of issues of trust in the original Star Trek. Pretty much what I felt what the nature of the future human beings would be: explore the universe and search for ultimate unity, take real care of the space with healthy agreements, which nowadays seems kind of impossible.
I think building a society around a human science other than economics would be interesting. Imagine how a civilization that puts more emphasis on psychology would operate.
sadly, like Niccolò Machiavelli (the father of political science) says, "man tends to forget more easily the death of their father than the loss of their money"
I've thought about it for a while now, and between "if you were a world dictator" and "if you were a god", there is a difference in possibilities. If I could change one thing without any limitations, I would give all humans a great deal of empathy towards all life. That would remove the negative aspects of modern society like people having to work multiple jobs for bosses that make most of the money because we'd be able to just share and trade without being greedy, while leaving the good things like healthcare (and for everyone, please!), shelter from the weather, and science that we could use to work towards a more sustainable lifestyle.
I got goosebumps reading this because yes. You're right. We'd need this one thing and the whole world would be a so much better place for all living beings.

I think if we got rid of or limited social media, especially fast paced media like tik tok. We would have more people who think for themselves and less likely to be influenced by fake news (that being from a company or individual). Reducing a lot of false hate that has kept us more controlled.
The problem with hunter-gatherer civilizations is the immediate lack of food, therefore smaller max population sizes. If we were to transition into this sort of living, we'd be seeing sub-billion global population in a few years due to lack of food. Same goes for the anti-agriculture and anti-mass-livestock sentiments. Millions, if not billions were saved from starvation from the advent of cheap and mass produced fertilizer. However, the chemical process used to get this fertiziler was also used to create the chemical weapons used in WW1 (See Haber process for more info)
if there is anything that would improve this world immediately, is losing about 7 billion or so in population.... humanity is way too good at surviving. we wont go extinct. we have if anything vastly overpopulated. the world would heave a sigh of relielf if most of us are gone, she is shaking us off right now, as we irritate her skin like lice. spending another ten million years under ice would be no sweat for the earth. shes been here for 450 billion years.

In my utopia, every able-bodied person would have a garden in their backyard. It would be more sustainable and eco friendly, and also make food cheap again. I would also seperate state and corporations, and try to abolish megacorporations. A world full of smaller businesses cooperating would be way better than a world ran by 6 trillion dollar corporations that are so evil. This would boost the economy in favor of the working class. Everybody will have equal rights, and I would make it common sense for people to judge by personality rather than interests/appearence/beliefs/lifestyle. I would also encourage more eco friendly innovations such as fusion energy, vertical crop farms to minimize land usage, hydrogen/solar/wind, cheap biologically accurate lab grown meat products, etc.
Clothing and water is easier than it seems. Food and hunting is gonna be a problem in the long term or even short term in this context. 8 billion is a lot

While you could argue that a utopia is a "perfect" version of reality, a utopia couldn't be perfect because if it was normal for it to "perfect" then society would not be able to recognize what true perfection is.

agreed. ER speaks from a privellaged point with most of his reasoning based on personal experiences, rather than taking a step in anyone else's shoes. Its much like a conservative refusing to let a young girl get an abortion due to SA, because its "morally wrong", or letting an adult get trans care yet letting them own guns, because its "weird and wrong".
My utopia would be having everyone's basic needs met for free. Free healthcare, free food, free housing, you just have to be productive. If you aren't capable of being productive, you get put in a facility that can care for your needs. Being productive just means contributing to society. You can be an artist, a craftsman, a doctor, whatever you want provided you prove to be competent. It's a classic idyllic view, but I share it.
My first big change is bringing back all of the cut down forests and finding alternative ways to make paper and other useful resources without having to deforest and ruin the climate.
If I were to change the world I think I would make it so that people weren’t so obsessed with money. Money would still be a thing, but it wouldn’t be so hard for people to get ahold of it so they could survive and so that people that have a lot of it didn’t hoard it to to the extent that the did
Hate to be a realist, but an obsession of money in society is important. Humanity's obsession with money is similar to a hunter-gatherer's obsession with finding food to survive on. If we all had enough money to live off of, then no one would be motivated to work for society. Money would be worthless. If we had no money, then we'd have no way of common trade, and economies would fall apart, unless you had an important skill or item to trade off/use, such as hunting, crafting, etc. No economy = No government, No governments = No safety without Police, doctors, etc. No safety = Mass plagues, mass deaths, mass warring for goods, until true human extinction.
@@femboypanties I think they were saying that everyone would have the bare minimum to live, but just that, unless they worked for more. If I could ban one thing, and there are so many things I and the world could do without, but I'll choose one I believe we could agree upon: Ads on RUclips. If you want to look one up, it'll be its own video. Otherwise, no ads before/interrupting/after videos. Ever.
I agree. Except for an exception. The ONLY time I am happy to watch ads is from creators who rescue animals. They need the money SO BAD. So I can watch ads all day just to give them money to help.
well if there were no ads, creators wouldn't get paid, and no one is going to pay creators for videos, even ASMR, we all know that. most ppl want their entertainment cheap/free. so...
Yeah, that's the trade-off. Unless one agrees to a sponsor and does a creative ad of their own to match the tone of the video. Those I don't mind so much.
Going full Anarcho-primitivist on us, Paul. Okay, well I can see what you mean by hunter-gatherers being 'peak humanity' - after all, that was the ecological niche to which we are actually evolutionarily adapted, and the modern world leads a lot of people to nihilism because it is missing a lot of the meaning, connection with one's environment, and agency over one's own life that the prehistoric world would have had. However, I can't agree that their lives were simple. The life of a hunter-gatherer was fraught with constant peril, as are the lives of wild animals today. If it's not a predator that's coming after you, then it's an infection brought on by a seemingly insignificant wound that you have to worry about, or else it's the fact that one of your teeth has become impacted and you can't access any sort of medical care, which would be extremely painful and debilitating. I don't know where you get the idea that there were no bosses, either- populations of humans always naturally arrange themselves into hierarchies. Tribes have chieftains. Since then, the developments in farming, medicine, social organization, education, and hygiene have made life far more comfortable and allowed us to fulfill more of our potential in other areas than hunting and gathering, such as art, science, and technology. In this way, humanity has collectively found a new and in many ways MORE meaningful ecological niche: we are the part of the Earth which recognizes itself. Think about how incredible the development of global civilization has been, when you see it for what it really is - the Earth essentially waking up, 'switching on', and recognizing its own existence through us. We can peer into the Earth's ancient past, or into the stars above us, or into the world of microbes invisible to ancient man. We can split the atom and beam information across this globe in seconds through the unified web of all human knowledge and desire that is the internet. We are, of course, altering the environment in harmful ways as a consequence of our development as a species, which may even end up being lethal to our civilization in the long run. But that's life, isn't it? The Earth has always gone through cycles of generation and flourishing, followed by desolation and destruction, followed by a new cycle of creation. And you have to admit that the mass extinction we are currently causing is a bit more interesting and elaborate than the last one that happened one Earth, when a giant rock from space randomly smashed into us, killing off the dinosaurs in a years-long starvation brought on my impact winter.
Of course all of these "advancements" favor humans, but not much else. I'm neither for or against humans. Maybe a little more against because of the negative impacts. But if we are going to truly talk objectively: the universe, the earth, don't give a shit about humans and their technology, if they are primitive or advanced. The only organisms that care about us, are us.
@EphemeralRift Yes, I agree with you. In fact this is precisely what makes humans so special among everything else. The ability to give a shit, the very consciousness of what it is to exist, and therefore the meaning of life, are localised pretty heavily within our brains right now. Of course, there are animals with extraordinarily complex brains who probably are self-aware, such as elephants and dolphins. That's why I do not say that the meaning of life is localised ENTIRELY within us, because it's not. And who knows? Maybe soon that spark of sentience will become far more localised in artificially intelligent minds than in biological ones, if the technology gets that complex. Maybe they will inherit the Earth afterwards, in an entirely new paradigm of consciousness on this planet.
Hey man, it's weird that you imagine a world full of hunters that regulates personal vices, but not game populations. I suppose if we're dreaming big, we can just imagine a larger planet with infinite game to hunt, but at that point why not imagine a world where drugs are always good for you and brains that don't get addicted to things. Just another perspective to add to the pile. ;)
i hear you. there's only so many things to talk about in an hour, to go over every single aspect from every single angle the video would be like 10 hours lol
Basically this is, "The industrial revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race." I fundamentally disagree with this sentiment. As Victor Frankl said, "suffering is like a gas, it fills up whatever vessel it is in." Even if you have everything in the world, the slightest inconvenience could seem like a world-ending situation. While I could possibly be relatively happier in a technology-free society, and so might others, I don't think this would make the "average happiness" any higher. Loneliness and boredom might go down, but it will be replaced by other things as a result of the human psyche, which we try but inevitably fail to surpass. While it's hard to accept, I think mitigating human suffering is futile due to our design, which is to remedy that which is not "ideal" around us. Even accepting dogmas such as Buddhism which aim to decrease desires are just bandages on a gaping wound. To heal this wound is to completely reconstruct the human mind into something complacent and accepting. Perhaps the only ones truly happy are those entirely incapable of adaptation. And those are doomed not to last.
and with that pet thing atleast here in norway in the more rural areas cats run free basicly so when my cat wants out she goes out and when she wants to go in for heat or cuddles or food she comes back in and when she wants to hunt she goes outside

If given the means to make significant change to the world, I would endeavor to use supernatural means to establish a way for people to act and provide for themselves in a need-mitigation basis rather than a need-satiation. Making base survival a given presumption rather than something that is a constant state of consumption would allow for fundamental paradigm shifts; the first being that the need for basic necessities would vanish at the rate at which this could be granted to individuals, but once in application on a large scale, removing the primary leverage of hierarchy against the lives and well-being of individuals that typically result in huge power imbalances and a need for societal structures of control in the fashion to which we are both accustomed and chafe under. Society wouldn't vanish, as we're still social creatures and there are many myriad benefits to collaboration on societal levels, but doing so would be something done For those benefits rather than on account of the metaphorical sword of Damocles that is our current organic necessity and reality. After that, facilitating a means of transit and transportation between major societal locales, as well as potentially bridging gaps between astronomical distances eventually. So I'd wanna be a global warlock patron and make a stargate system.
it seems to me the more population size, the greater inequality between the haves and have nots. back to kings, emperors, pharoaos, etc etc societies that got big enough also seemed to have much bigger societal gaps of whose needs got met and how and how much and by whom
I love the way you unapologetically say your opinions. I do disagree with a GREAT deal of the points you make I respect your opinions. If you ask me I feel like there's a few main issues when it comes to the hunter-gatherer lifestyle. As someone who loves the off-grid, woods, has been straight edge for a while, i love to hunt, plant trees, recycle, i use near 0 plastics and i consider myself a quiet physically capable person, i do NOT want to live a hunter-gatherer lifestyle. If you don't want to read it all the TL;DR is you can live the way you want you just need to adapt to the circumstances. I have quite a few problems with modern society but there are reasons why we made things the way we did. Wars stem from primitivism. A chief dies before he says who the next chief will be, boom the tribe breaks up in half and starts a war. Racism and bigotry stem from primitivism. A tribe of white Indo-Europeans sees an African tribe across the river, what do they do? They say that black people (the African tribe) are devils and that we should fear them, why? Because they don't know any better, just like most modern day racist aholes. They fear different people because they don't understand them not because they necessarily have a reason to. I think the problems are way laziness, bad diets, hatred, comfort, etc. Not money or modern society. The human characteristics are at fault. not society, not capitalism, not money, not any of those. It's not the "society" its the humans. With all that being said,I feel like even in this brainwashed society you still have a choice.
If i could change the world… pssh, man. Id change my family and my social life. Id change my video game addiction, id change the fact that im currently a loser who have yet to graduate school. I'd want to PREVENT all pollution, war, discrimination, famine, to ever exist. I'd want everyone to be healthy, for fast food to never to be invented, for the industrial revolution to never exist, but we've have learnt environmentally friendly ways of life first because we'd value Earth first. I'd just want peace, equality, a healthy planet for all with kindness to all species.

Make the social hierarchy based on intelligence and global accomplishments instead of popularity and who is the best looking. People who discover how the world around us works and makes our world a better place go unnoticed, while someone who injects themselves with fillers and appears in some form of entertainment is apparently one of the most important people in the world.
If I could play God, I’d make a God that fixes things in the world. A true, omnibenevolent, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, God. I think humanity could benefit from that.
I think there are some parts where you raised excellent points, but other parts that I have to vehemently disagree with. Saying that we have given up our humanity and then immediately going on to say that we should remove 99% of entertainment is like an oxymoron to me. Entertainment like music, movies, art, books, athletics, the list goes on *is* the definition of humanity in my opinion. The ability to create and be creative through these outlets is what makes us human beings, and giving those things up would be giving up our humanity, again in my opinion

Nubia, historically and culturally rich, has a legacy that spans millennia. Located in northeastern Africa along the Nile River, Nubia's history is intertwined with Egypt's, sharing influences in culture, trade, and politics. The earliest evidence of Nubian civilization dates back to the Neolithic period, around 6000 BCE, with communities engaged in agriculture and trade. As the Nubian people developed, they established kingdoms that would play pivotal roles in the region's history. During the pharaonic era of ancient Egypt, Nubia was often referred to as "Ta-Seti," meaning "Land of the Bow," highlighting its reputation for skilled archers. Nubia's geographical significance as a bridge between North and East Africa made it a focal point for trade and cultural exchange. Around 3500 BCE, Nubia experienced the emergence of powerful chiefdoms and later organized kingdoms. Notably, the Kingdom of Kush, with its capital at Kerma, became a prominent force. This early kingdom engaged in trade with Egypt
I'm not sure what you are alluding to here, if anything, but it's true, there are some primitives/indigenous that end up turning into kingdoms/civilization, but not all.
If we were to return to a hunter-gatherer civilization, honestly, we'd go extinct man
if there is anything that would improve this world immediately, is losing about 7 billion or so in population.... humanity is way too good at surviving. we wont go extinct. we have if anything vastly overpopulated. the world would heave a sigh of relielf if most of us are gone, she is shaking us off right now, as we irritate her skin like lice. spending another ten million years under ice would be no sweat for the earth. shes been here for 450 billion years.

I would build Arkham sanitarium. And bury myself in Margaret garden.
Pretty much. It wall went downhill with the advent of agriculture.

The ability to create and be creative through these outlets is what makes us human beings, and giving those things up would be giving up our humanity, again in my opinion
i know that's why i even questioned the entertainment argument myself in this video.

There are Uncontacted Tribes in existence today that still remain hunter-gatherers. Is it possible that with time, every primitive/indigenous eventually becomes a civilization? Oh, plenty of indigenous tribes have done horrible things. Even the ancient Aztecs or Mayans sacrificed their own kind. But not all tribes. You'd have to do an entire video on this topic. And it's no diff than what modern humans do to each other (abuse their kids, catholic church abuse, war, drunk driving, etc.)
@EphemeralRift i agree. Love the video anyway.
I would stop world violence

appreciate the comment OP, but you're reading a bit too much into things. :)
Papa E, I've been watching your content for a long time, you are probably my favorite ASMR creator, so please understand this is coming from a place of respect for you as a person. You have no right to talk about the modern day making people lazy in the position of privilege you have. You have literally won the lottery by being able to make a living off of RUclips videos.
Edit: Just got to the part about Entertainment, Rift do you not see the massive gaping hypocrisy in what you're saying? You literally make a living off entertainment, you are calling yourself corrupt and part of the problem
its philosophy! its not meant to be set in stone. its just a way to think about ideas.
@@possumofantikka8160Its hypocrisy.
It's called philosophy, critical thinking, and being objective. Not hypocrisy.
Idk if it's meant to be hypocrisy, self questioning, or lighthearted self mocking. Seems to be a mix of the latter 2.
pretty much all of us are corrupt and part of the problem, if you look at it a certain way
I would get rid of social media, I think we’d benefit more from life without it than we do with it.
You're the man.
