True, and it’s bc she is the main character in this story, even though he is the one who suffered the injury. It sucks to say, but without her, he would not be nowhere near to where he is at now, physically, mentally and emotionally.

This is everything. I hope more people watch this. That someone who is feeling hopeless like he was sees that so much is possible. My best friend was in a wheelchair and nothing stopped her. Nothing. I never remember having a single moment of doubt that we would find a way. May this beautiful couple keep enjoying every day together. They just made mine 😊❤.
What an extraordinary couple. I pray that she has strength for her entire life and takes care of her back as she lifts him the way she is. Otherwise, she may injure herself. I say this in the most respectful manner because I care so much about my brothers and sisters. I never want to see anyone in pain.

When you feel like God sent you an angel it really changes you. Like "How did I even deserve this person". My wife puts up with my disability and STILL thinks I'm a good husband, even when I break down and feel like a burden. That is amazing love.

What a beautiful and amazing couple.
She is exactly like my sister in law who never see limits. My brother in law just started his police man career and get a heart stroke at such a young age…having a peace maker machine is something he see like a limitation. He was in a dark place. But he meets her and she see nothing but a second chance in life. She trains with him until he is back on his feets and go back to work. He had a second heart stroke recently and we were so fortunate that he choose to keep the peace maker coz it save him!
Special kind of lady right there and he has tremendous courage to move forward in life. They also make a cute couple 😊

He said he dove in with his arms down. I'm assuming he hit his head first on the bottom and it resulted in a spinal injury

I really like that the inspirational message here isn't to strive to 'overcome' physical disabilities and become able-bodied again. I know it sometimes happens, but it's normally not possible for people. What i took away from this is that you can also be courageous by letting love into your life even if you feel broken, and by accepting help even if it's hard. And how we can help each other be more accepting of ourselves and live happier lives right now, in the middle of our struggles, even if our lives aren't how we'd like them to be.

He really found an Angel. I'm not sure most people these days would sign up for that. You know, men have to be 6+ feet tall and millionaires etc.
Statistically it is way more likely that a disabled man finds or keeps a spouse - most women with male partners lose them after becoming disabled. So this narrative of "women expect too much" really doesn't check out without taking a long hard look at men and their expectations.
What a lucky man to have such an open minded woman.
If that woman stays with that man for life, she is a friggen Rock Star without compare. I've been married 2x and my first wife left after 14 years to find herself, my second wife left after 17 years married and 5 years after my accident. I was not paralyzed at all. My pain was keeping me awake and sleeping at very radical hours, after 5 years she left me. My sleeping hours had been getting more stable. She said it doesn't feel like we are a couple anymore. It is 13 years since she left and I have been sleeping regular hours for the last 7 years.
I'm 66 years old and single, I'm glad I'm not tied to women like my previous wives. Good ridance.
I'm so sorry. That scares me... I have a broken circadian rhythm, and my sleep schedule is wacked, while my husband is regular as clockwork. I try to climb into bed every morning just before he wakes, so that he still feels that couple connection, because I know that years of living separate schedules might turn romance into roommates.

When you were in the hospital you were not ready to see the world from this perspective. You needed to grieve the loss of life as you knew it before you could embrace life as you know it now. You have such a beautiful life now. One that is richer than you could have ever imagined. You are a far stronger man as a paraplegic in a wheelchair than you would ever have been as an able bodied boxer/fighter. Isn't life amazing!❤❤

Ditch the wheelchair bro..use your legs again..crawl, slither, roll whatever but don't use your wheelchair..at least in your home coz your body will be dependent on it n forget to heal..try DDP yoga too..I see many success stories there. Good luck..
It appears to me the man has a Spinal Cord Injury-a severed (cut in two, the cord never gets repaired). He is not making a choice to use a wheelchair instead of “trying really, really hard to walk again.”
