It’s great that you’re doing reviews on these Leica mount new product options
I don’t really believe the new equivalent original Leica lenses offer a huge improvement, but their cost is getting unaffordable for many

Hi Matt, nice video, quick but it says a lot.
Great to hear you are in contact with Peter, I am a long time follower of his channel and in the past I mentioned Voigtlander lenses to him and I am glad he tried at least one.
Love Peter's approach to shooting in studio, , big fan, the whole lighting setup, then camera set up and his (pre) edit.
His trick with his hand next to the screen to see wether the sharpness of a shot is realistic to his own hand was a huge eye opener for me.
I even made an action preset with his curves manipulation to get a silver kind of look, he likes so much.
I never miss a YT video.
Hope you guys can benefit both from your contacts.
Meanwhile keep doing great stuff, nice weekend, thanks for sharing

Glad to see you discussing this lens as I'm interested; would like a 75 to use on my Bessa R3M and thought this one might be preferable vs. the 75/1.5 because of lighter weight and less viewfinder intrusion. BUT, you seem to favor the 75/1.5 at every aperture… is the 75/1.9 worth buying at all for portrait shots at f/2 - f/2.8, or does it simply not cut it? I do NOT want a “vintage look” as I'm a fan of very crisply rendered eyelashes!
Re your collaboration with Coulson, I used to watch him but am NOT a fan… got to seem too much like hanging around the Old Boys’ Clubhouse… still, I guess I can stick it out if you can keep him on-topic!

Great video! I, never looked for ultra sharpness ever! I only have older lenses. The Voiglander offer a smaller hi-speed. Small better! Those huge "Art" lenses, Zeiss monsters, the Leica offers for SL, Dinossaurus mass and foriegn state loans, beyond normal comprehension.
If you want every wrinkle, pimple and skin imperfection, you should never do portraiture! The entry of competition, esp. the 'TT' lenses in price! Even pros need to hesitate, on rising prices!! Let's see more images!

Hey Mr. Voigtlaender😁I found out the 1.5 and 1.9 are both have very much similar optical construction (maybe differ from elements' size aspect), except Nokton got aspheric-surface lens on rear-most element.
Maybe they found place to improve from 1.5 Nokton, who knows🤔
Will coating make that big of a difference? (between SC & MC)

    • @mouse3355

If you don't need the sharpness of the F1.5 Nokton, I think the weight and size advantage of the F1.9 Ultron outweighs it. Also, the minimum focusing distance is a killer feature that can beat any Leica lens. This is a rare macro lens available for M digital cameras

    • @MattOsborne-MrLeicaCom
      @MattOsborne-MrLeicaCom  Год назад

Yes for those using M bodies only the 0.5m MFD will be a big win if using the EVF. (That's why I bought the 35mm f1.2 when that was announced years ago, to get closer). For those using the SL we can close focus any M lens.

    I have a Leica M-D (typ262) *with a model without a rear LCD
    I am using M3.
The lens is Summilux 50 f 1.4 (1st) and most of the shots are taken.
I mainly shoot portraits of people and dogs.
Summilux 50f1.4 (1st) is a versatile lens and I really like it.
Also, could you give me some advice on how to choose a lens suitable for portraiture?

    1. Leica 90f4 Elmar
    2.Leica135f4Elmar
    3.Voigtlander Ultron 75f1.9
    4. Nokton 75f1.5
Leica90f4Elmar and Leica135f4Elmar are old lenses, but they have sufficient performance.

It's cheap to buy two, so you can buy both, but Leica M-D (typ262) and
Is it okay to focus on the M3's small frame?
Do you need a 135mm lens? Would 90mm be enough?
Voigtlander Ultron75f1.9 and Nokton75f1.5 are very attractive.
However, the problem is that the 75mm frame does not come out when using it with M3...
M-D (typ262 can be used without problems, so from Leica90f4Elmar, Leica135f4Elmar
If the image is overwhelmingly different, either Voigtlander Ultron75f1.9 or Nokton75f1.5
I would like to choose You can buy a new product, so you don't have to worry about hitting or missing.
