The bunk bed from my childhood dreams
That would have been sweeeeet.
Another great project! Looking forward to part 2!
Thank you so much. I'll see you in the next one!
This is amazing, such incredible craftsmanship, I could watch this 10 times and see new details every time, love the videos and big complex builds, keep them coming!!
Awesome! You are exactly who my videos are made for. Thanks for watching!
Oh baby!! Finally showed up in my feed! Lezzzzzzzgooooo!!!
Do it! Thanks for watching
Absolute perfection, as usual.
Thanks for the support! You are the best! Thanks for watching!
Cody’s the man
He sure is. He wears the pants around here
Damn this thing is a beast! Also you make the slides look so easy, but those are a little intimidating. Well done sir.
Thanks! I'll agree, this drawer slide setup is about as complex as it gets, bit still not too bad. Thanks for watching!
Looking good!
Thank you! Cheers!
I wish I had tall enough ceilings to build something like this
oh yeah? You don't need that much height for a bunkbed. How tall is your room?
Great video amazing job
I appreciate it very much. Thanks for watching
Great videos!!! Could this panel joinery work just as well with dominos as the splines ?
Yes that would work, but since there's already a groove for the center panel, its easy enough to cut splines to fit.
Blum draw runners are ridiculously expensive and just so you're aware, either kreg or Rockler have recently released their version of the blum draw runners and from a recent video I've seen on RUclips they are probably half or even a third of the price and by all accounts they are just as good if not the same quality 😳🫣. As always buddy 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.
That's very good to know thank you. I occasionally try other slides to test them out. Especially on this one though, it would be hard to find a push-to-open product as good as these.
What a behemoth of a unit. I've learned and appreciate the spline technique, but this video reminded me of that... very effective. Two questions: 1- Preassembly is mandatory of course, but at what point does running the screws in and out of the same holes degrade the joint? ... and, 2- where do you get veneer plywood with that nice, thick veneer?!?
Great work as always!
Thanks as always! To answer the screw question, we use longer screws during final assembly on site. Sometimes even thicker screws too.
I get my plywood from Austin Hardwoods of Denver.
Thanks for watching!
@@FortressFineWoodworks Cool... I suspected a hardwood supplier was the answer. Need to find one near me (VA) because I've about had it with big box micron-veneer ply.
I'm honestly surprised you've even had the patience with that stuff. The ply I use is called Combination core. The outer most cores before the veneer are mdf for better stability. and it only costs about 15% more than the big box garbage.
@@FortressFineWoodworks Yeah, looking at the shots of the cross section I could tell that was ^chef kiss^ stuff. I likely don't have to explain that when lack of availability intersects with lack of money, patience becomes really, really easy. Win?
Rockler and Woodcraft both have stores in Virginia and Wood Workers Source can do mail order there and is a popular place for several youtube woodworking channels.
For the dog........riiiiiight, said no one ever.
Haha it depends where you live. People worship their dogs in Colorado
@@FortressFineWoodworks I agree - we love our dogs here, too! Just won't let our 85 lb collie in the bed with us. I do know of those who sleep with two great danes in a queen size bed.
haha well... based on the intelligence level of Border Collie's (the highest out of any dog) I would guess he/she sleeps in it without you knowing ;)
13:52 hate when that happens.
When the bit gets stuck in the screw? Or when the screw blows out the wood?
