i remember buying this game blind buy from kaybee toys sometime in early 1996, and just being blown away by the soundtrack. it still bangs today.

You clearly never heard the original version on the Commodore Amiga! The Genesis is okay, the Amiga version is outstanding!!!
The Amiga sounds slicker but the Genesis sounds more hardcore in its dirt grain synths and distorted drums.
Sensacional.
