  • democracynow.org - In North Dakota, more than a thousand indigenous activists from different tribes have converged at the Sacred Stone Spirit Camp, where protesters are blocking construction of the proposed $3.8 billion Dakota Access pipeline. Protesters say the pipeline would threaten to contaminate the Missouri River, which provides water not only for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, but for millions of people downstream. For more, we are joined by Winona LaDuke, Native American activist and executive director of the group Honor the Earth. She lives and works on the White Earth Reservation in northern Minnesota.

#pipelinesforpeople? ... Ok Winona I need you to say the following
“Good morning. In less than an hour, (people) from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest (anti-corporate) battle in the history of mankind. “Mankind.” That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can’t be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it’s fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom… Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution… but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We’re going to live on! We’re going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!”--(revised) ;)

I pray there are no oil leaks. I'm Praying for more peace throughout the entire world to decrease desire for oil. I should try living a life with less demand for natural resources. I should try living with more simple pleasures. I am praying more stewards of the earth will rise up and come together educate get degrees and make a voice heard in a court of law and change poor laws that allow one to rape the earth for its desired resource, leaving a broken ground with polluted contaminated water wells and no ability to tap good clean drinking water. We need good clean water and soil to grow. If air, soil and water are polluted cancers and other health issues arise and decrease our length of life. Praying for the protection of all wildlife and vegetation affected by mans poor choices. Winona Thank you and May God Bless You and your family. Sincerely, the lady who loves to pick wild blueberries and enjoys the calls of the froggies in the springtime and seeing eagles, wolves, deer and bears on land close to the oil pipelines close to Floodwood Minnesota.

Oil is Mother Earth's Blood. Pipe lines are like, fake veins. Mother's Blood, Mother's flesh, Mother's Body. God said, take what you need but leave the rest behind. God didn't say to take and sell. We must Stop, the destruction, of Our Beloved Mother Earth. I pray for Peace on Earth, Good will toward Men.
