  • The panhead engine is coming along, the flathead is down again, and we got a shovel chopper to build.

    Imagine if Harley made a decent bottom end ..... well, they do in the Sportster's but... their super weak pressed cranks with shit bearings in the big twins, kinda disgraceful when you have a long stroke single pin engine that beats the hell out of the crank.

    Chuck, do you paint the insides of your bottom ends with that red stuff, or assemble them raw aluminum?

      I just leave them raw. Glyptol is a good product for oil return, but not absolutely necessary.

      @@ChucksCycles Thanks. Baxter Engineering gave a good explanation on the porosity of the aluminum and I was just wondering.
