Hi Amit Sir,
Flow lines and equipotential lines are orthogonal to each other.
So , at the bottom surface of gravity dam where you told flowlines and equipotential line are along the surface of gravity dam (i.e parallel to the surface of dam this means that flowlines and equipontiallines are parallel to each other).
Sir , could you please clear my doubt, you teaching is awesome. your leacture help me to clear many doubts and also provided me clear concept of all topic.

Hello dear.
The base of the dam is considered as hard surface that should be considered as one steam line.
And the base of the upstream (water storage) is also considered as one equipotential line.
Ofcourse the base of the dam (foundation level) is lower than the upstream storage. As a result both steam line and equipotential line are orthogonal to each other.

Sir according to the first property you clearly mentioned that no equipotential line and no flow line will intersect each other... But when we are considering the ground line as both equipotential line and flow line these both flow lines and equipotential lines will intersect with each other then how could the first property be true according to this pls reply to my doubt..!!

Sir Firstly u said flow lines and equipotential lines intersect each other at 90° but later how did you took the flow lines and equipotential line to be same in the figure i. e total no of flow line =5 and equipotential line is also = 5.plz explain.
Means sir 1,line both equipotential and stream lines

Along the equipotential line, there will be no groundwater flow, and then how can you say that the equipotential line is flow lines?
