    AudioCircle is from Paul Jelko and Marc. Paul Jelko was the guy behind Rainbow Audio.

    Hi. I have a 3-way Musway MG6.3A set and I have to admit that it sounds great for its price. I especially recommend testing the MG6.2T tweeter. This 3-way set includes the speaker you tested. I drive this set with an Alpine UTE-92BT radio and a HiFonics Thor TRX6006DSP amplifier. Thanks to your videos, I managed to make an RTA in the car and the level of detail and purity of the sound is mind-blowing. :-) The only thing I would change now, if I had this knowledge earlier, is to buy an amplifier and sound processor separately. The DSP built into this amplifier has a low resolution of the parametric equalizers entered and a Q Factor range from 0.5 to 9. I had to enter all the parameters manually, and also play around with the equalization a lot to get rid of the problematic peaks and troughs. I think it is worth making a video about DSP and what to pay special attention to. It illustrates very well the ease and speed of using the Helix DSP that you have. Very high resolution, Q factor up to 50 and the ability to directly transfer settings from the REW program using a text file. Best regards from Poland.

    The Musway are nice for the money if you didn't know they are the exact same driver as the old Rainbow germaniums which I believe where actually designed by the guys who run Audiocircle. Audiocircle is made up of the old engineers of the Profi line that left when Rainbow was sold to a Chinese company and started Audiocircle. So there is alot of shared stuff amongst them and you can see that the Musway drivers are the same as the Rainbow germanium 3 way.

    if the sensitivity is being measured at the dust cap, it makes sense that the musway shows a low sensitivity as the dust cap is not moving, would it not make more sense to measure it at the most inner part of the cone?

    You can’t use your nearfield measurements to do high frequency response or midrange/high frequency resonance. This data above below 1 kHz isn’t valid.
    Also. Distortion measurement (except for extreme low frequencies) isn’t valid

      Any tips how to make the data valid?

    • @cbrunhaver
      @cbrunhaver Месяц назад

      @@RAW-CAt well, they need to be in the far field. This means in an anechoic chamber, klippel nfs (and something like the klippel ISC for distortion measurements). DIY, you can do gated measurements measuring in a large space off the ground (like a warehouse or outdoors). If you can get 10 ft off the ground or so, you can gate to around 10-12 ms and get around 1-200 hz resolution.

    • @RAW-CAt
      @RAW-CAt  Месяц назад

      @@cbrunhaver well, the distortion measurements were made farfield, from 1m distance and the response gated at 4ms. The frequency response depends on gating, not distortion measurements.
