Loved this Robbie. Took me back many years when silver perch were prolific in Burrinjuck. A shrimp bait bought many undone and up to 2kg. This is not the case the case today.
Same here Bill. I spent many weekends at Burrinjuck doing the same thing when I was at Cootamundra. Now I'm in Robbies territory, I'm enjoying the same at Nillahcootie catching cod
@siquinnell6068 they were in the last few weeks. Small cod, but at least they're not carp, lol. Try cheese, scrubbies, and chicken. If you can, bring a net for the shrimp there too.
What a beautiful looking fish how awesome is it that they stock the waters... we live in the best country... Happy New Year Robbie, Lauretta and the Girls 🎉
Thank you so much. That's so cool. Good luck with your grandson. The fishing is never red hot, but it's usually pretty quiet without too many people around.
Thanks mate. I was stoked to catch it. I'm going to annoy Wang Council and VFA next year to improve that area. Better water quality, fishing platform etc...
Had a bit of up and down day today. Went up to a resevoir to go kayaking, but there's bloody loads of jetskis! So I drive home a little bit dejected, figure I'll give a little spot under a bridge a try. I managed to land a PB redfin and you'll never guess what lure. 3" Strike Tiger grub in banana shock, the reddies in vic love em for whatever reason.
Hey Robbie have you tried the Gunbower Creek at Cohuna? I have pulled out cod and yellas trawling lures and silver perch on bate. My nephew caught a cod over 1metre there a few years back when he was in his paddle canoe, and accidentally got it, he had a surface lure on his rod and it was in the rod holder with the lure just touching the water at the back of his canoe when he turned in front of some reeds and BANG there it was. And yes we took photos and put it back. It's not very wide and deep but a good place. My wife and I have camped there often. The town isn't to far away either. Cheer from Nev.
Hi mate, that's awesome. I've never really fished there mate. I bait fished with worms once for about 10 minutes and that was it. Sounds like a great spot.
G'day buddy, I doubt it very much. I think most get caught out pretty quickly and this time of the year the water would likely be too warm for them to survive. There could be some there but I doubt it.
HI Mike, I have one coming out next Sunday night. It's a ripper. Yabbies AND cod. I put my yabby nets in, then went cod fishing with my mate Sonny, then checked my nets the following morning and cooked Yabbies for breakfast. Stay tuned for Sunday evening, it's a ripper. 👍👍
Hi Harry, I have great news. I have a yabbying video coming out next Sunday night. I catch a feed of yabbies and some lovely Murray cod in the same video. At the end I cool yabbies for breakfast.
By far the most underrated fishing RUclipsr on the platform! Actually genuine and so down to earth!
Love the vids Robbie, keep it up mate!
Thank you so much for your kind words mate. 👍
Loved this Robbie. Took me back many years when silver perch were prolific in Burrinjuck. A shrimp bait bought many undone and up to 2kg. This is not the case the case today.
Thanks Bill. I've never fished up there, but I do know that Silver's are making an enormous comeback in many areas thanks to widespread fish stocking.

Cracking silver out of lake Merriwa, great work legend!
Thanks mate. I was stoked to catch it. I'm going to annoy Wang Council and VFA next year to improve that area. Better water quality, fishing platform etc...

Robbie, what a nice catch I recon the best timing for fishing is sunrise and sunset
Thanks mate. I agree. I love the twilight times of the day.

Haha that's so awesome, well done mate. You're not wrong they sure do love them.
Good one mate nice fish 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Cam. 👍👍
Congratulations on a great catch. You would never think a fish could make someone so happy without going onto a plate. 😂😂😂😂😂
Hahaha thanks Vincent. I could have kept that one but I didn't have an eski with me.
Man, that's a heck of a Silver! Mind you if you ever find a 40cm yabby you might need a lot more than a brag mat
Haha thanks mate. I saw a photo of a 36cm yabby once. It was crazy big. LOL
HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎉 Blessings to you and your Family
Thank you so much Chris. Happy New Year to you too.

@robbiefishing Yes it is Rob. You can trawl most of the way down to the back of the golf course. Maybe you'll get there one day.
NICE to see those fish!
HNY dude!
Thanks mate. HNY to you too.
NICE grunter!
HNY Robbie!
Thanks UF, Happy New Year to you too. 🎉🎊
Great video mate I’m going down to Goulburn river at Shepparton and this stocked lake by fisheries so that should be good keep up the videos
Awesome, good luck mate.
Lovely SP Robbie, must have been the Lone Ranger.
Thanks Frank, I think so mate.
well done mate
Thanks mate. 👍👍
Fancy a silver actually behaving long enough for a photo, they usually bend like a banana, lovely fish mate
Thanks mate. Haha they sure do. After a few seconds they generally straighten themselves out.
Blackfish are harder to photograph. LOL
💛...just curious... does that grunting sound underwater?...
Good question Harold, I'm honestly not sure sorry.
Well done Robbie. Hey do you know why Jan Juc has been out of stock of worms for months?
Thanks mate. I think they may have had a rush on worms back in November and ran out. Hopefully they're fattening a heap up now ready to go soon.
@robbiefishing thnx Robbie
Hey Robbie do you recon there I still trout in there I went there with spinners and got that silver perch but no trout
G'day buddy, I doubt it very much. I think most get caught out pretty quickly and this time of the year the water would likely be too warm for them to survive. There could be some there but I doubt it.
Is this near the front or the back of Merriwa park
Hi mate, it's down the back behind the tennis courts.
Hey robbie can you recommend me some good cod spots around wang for me please striggling to find a stresm i can walk up with lures
Hi mate, search up "robbiefishing best fishing spots in Wangaratta".
Good one Robert 😂😂😂😂
Thanks Terence. LOL (Unless you're like my dad and your name is just Terry and NOT Terence).
No yabbying videos Robert?
HI Mike, I have one coming out next Sunday night. It's a ripper. Yabbies AND cod. I put my yabby nets in, then went cod fishing with my mate Sonny, then checked my nets the following morning and cooked Yabbies for breakfast.

Thanks mate. Haha So would I. LOL 😆
Short but sweet wonder what they taste like
Thanks Catherine. They're OK, but not great. They're one of my east favourites.
When are you making a yabbieing video
Hi Harry, I have great news. I have a yabbying video coming out next Sunday night. I catch a feed of yabbies and some lovely Murray cod in the same video.
At the end I cool yabbies for breakfast.
