It's a miracle that she sounds clear and good with all these sharp ass movements and stiff/rigid moves. I would sound horrible. The ending with the dance break was so....odd
Well better on make-up than plastic surgery! Shanice is beautiful with or without make-up, she's blessed with a healthy black skin and a gorgeous smile with sparkling teeth...Ur so ENVIOUS!
I totally agree! Many persons here on youtube seem not to know nutten about singing - As long as ur in the spotlight like Beyonce and now Rhianna, to them you can sing. So i suggest they go and learn 'bout singing befo commenting on Shanice who is a talented singer as said by professional reviewers.
No need 2 attack Shanice cuz she and Mariah have no grudge with eachother. Also Shanice is doing quite well now as an independent artist, for an artist 2 be out the limelight for over 6 yrs and came back without a major label backing, & still entered the charts speaks volume 2 her talents. Shanice is set to release a new album this year first in history Shanice doing this, which tells me she is seeing her dough straight up and happy with where she's at! Please show respect 2 the artists.
Just understand they can sing. They have different voices. It is how they are used that matters. Listen to how vocals used, not just "who" sounds better.
Shanice is superb!!! Far better than whitney and Mariah. I have never seen them dancing and singing like this, esp. Mariah who only walks from one end of the stage to the next. Shanice low points seem to be her sweet personality.
This is I think Shanice made a mistake when she took a break from singing to go to college. Mind I don't think it was wrong for her to go study, but after the success fo I love Your Smile, she was basically destined to make it. However, she tried to come back a few years later and could not catch back the momentum she left years ago. Still immensely talented and underrated, though.

Mariah wasnt new to the Biz, she was doing background for Brenda and busy doing demos. I have mariah's album and vocally she has declined. There'r instances here on youtube when I hold my breath hearing Mariah perform live as her voice is at the edge of breaking; sounding hoarse and strained. Shanice always sound clear and strong Shanice has no problem singing lows and highs, Mariah today only okay singing lows and whistling. Once she goes to middle voice she sound strained.
Shanice whistle is perfect and she should never try to whistle with that airyness done by others becuz that is not the correct way 2 whistle. Whistle is to be strong and clear as in the case of Yma Sumac, Lisa Fischer, and countless opera singers who use that style. To whistle incorrectly can lead to vocal damage. Shanice's been whistling from the 80's and her voice is still powerful goes to show she does it correctly.
And ur point! Oprah is a strong, progressive, powerful and YES beautiful black woman so I guess ur description is fitting! Why don't u save time and point us to Mariah performing so awesomely! Oops 4got she has 2 left feet and has to rely on studio gimmicks!
shanice does the whistle well..you can see that in LOVING YOU. but she doesnt go as high as mariah can. Mariah sounds like a flute or something. Im not dissing shanice..shanice is my favorite singer by far. Im just saying. When people say Mariah sings better than Shanice i dont agree, Mariah's whistle is just higher. thats it. And shanice is a waaay better live performer. Mariah is a huge SNORE. Shes better to listen to than to watch. Shanice is all around great

Shanice is a natural belter and have very good diction singing Spanish and Italian as shown here on RUclips.

Shanice to me beats Whitney by far, even in Whitney's prime. Whitney sings in a predictable manner similar to Celine, start off soft then goes high to the end (not much in between), and when Live she sounds preachy, esp. in mid 90's. The only thing whitney beats Shanice in & thats song quality.
