So in europe myth a mermaid isnt the fish tailed woman you are all probably thinking. If a god loving virgin woman drowns before she is married her soul becomes cursed and damned which turns her into a undead banshee. Which is what this mermaid is, she emerges from the body of water where she died, can come in the form of other women, and will try to take your soul. If you reject her she kills you. In short shes a ghost/living corpse with the appearance of a banshee. Shes just like a regular woman but deformed and dead. No fish tail or any of that stuff.
This movie was aired on my local horror channel. It's nubs seeing mermaid/siren/water spirit from another part of the world! I watched the movie on 1 August 2024.
I agree! I was hoping it was a good sci fi or fantasy mermaid one. Not some scary weird one! Mehhh they need to make one seriously like yu said m. The depth of the ocean interest me like crazy but like a weird fantasy depthful one w a mermaid in it!
@@brittneydeyling5566 you might like the tv show Sirens. it does a great job of showing what mermaids might be like if they were real, how they live in the ocean, what their culture is, etc.
So basically this movie is about the price men pay when they reject an American woman. As long as it's not produced by Wild Eye Releasing and Uncork'D, it might be watchable. The trailer looks too decent for Wild Eye and Uncork'D...can't be them.
I just watched this movie and I would suggest smoking a large amount of marijuana and ordering a pizza if you plan on viewing it. It won’t make the movie any better but at least you won’t be hungry.

It's a Russian movie. It's based on their lore which is Rusalka/Rusalki. (their concept is similar to mermaids tho)

Watched it, and not bad. Wasn't the same old dumb college kids in the woods thing. A different, and good plot.
