How to Make: Sweet Potato Cake

- For the Sweet Potato cake you will need;
3 cups cake flour or sifted all-purpose flour
1-1/4 stick unsalted butter
1 (8oz) pkg Neufchâtel cheese or cream cheese
1-1/2 cup each of light brown sugar and granulated white sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp vanilla extract
4 lg eggs
2-1/2 cups sweet potatoes, baked and purée (about 2 medium sweet potatoes)
Grease and flour baking pans. Preheat oven 350 degrees, bake cake roughly 1 hr and 15 mins.
Allow cake to set 10 mins after baking before removing from pan.
Frosting Drizzle;
1-1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/3 cup whipping cream
2 tsp ground cinnamon
Mix all 3 well. For thinner drizzle add more whipping cream. For thicker drizzle add less whipping cream.

Oh my goodness, Chris! I baked this cake tonight with your video playing right next to me the whole time. Did it just like you. My house smells SO delicious... warm and sweet and spicy. If I could, I would include a picture...it is a beautiful cake. Thank you for teaching me how to make it. 😊💜

Oh yeaaaaaa! Love, love love your video. So easy to follow. My uncle keep bringing me those large and small sweet potatoes. I usually just bake them and eat. But, got tired of them, sweet as they are. I decided to search Google for new use and didn't want the same ole pie dessert. Then I saw your video and was hooked. I got all the ingredients and started baking while watching you. My 18 yrs old son saw me watching you...he watched for a while, decided to join in. While mixing, he asked if he could help (he doesn't help usually) then asked if he could have one to take to his friends house after Thanksgiving (hang out spot). No problem. Mixing, rewinding to get it right, it was done. Smell heavenly! THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I HAVEN'T SPEND THIS MUCH TIME WITH MY SON SINCE HE HITS PUBERTY. IT WAS SUCH FUN. THAT BLESSED MY HEART. Will update after Thanksgiving 2o22.

How I wish you were in my family. After watching this, I watched your dressing video. You make it the same way I do, minus the stovetop. I use dried bread. It’s my mother-in-laws recipe who would be 115 now if she were alive. You do such a great job. Now I need to make a sweet potato cake.

Yes, they've been around a long time. Theres so many things to do with sweet potatoes. The cake is really good with or without icing and I like it bc its not too sweet but still very tasty.

Perfect timing! I was watching your old Thanksgiving videos when this one came in. Is there a difference between stuffing and dressing other than one goes on the turkey and one doesn't.
Dressing is made with cornbread and stuffing is made with white bread.
