Ive been searching all over fot this. We had these when we were kids and i didnt know its name. We seem to have a bootleg version though since its differently colored but plastic quality is quite good. I also like our bootleg colors more than the original. The sports car is white, instead of red and every robot are monochrome. And for some reason it comes with a chrome sword, no trailer, no individual small weapons and the back shoulder mounted cannons are handheld dual wield guns. It looks so awesome in combined form. The combining mechanism is phenomenal. Thank god i finally found it.
Currently rewatching the series and there is a reason for the Drill Tank. It was a prototype mining machine being delivered to a Mining expedition in Australia.
Vehicles: Plastic shit. Individual robots: Plastic shit. Transformation and playability of team members: Meh. Combined mode: SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! Seriously. The way these toys combine, I didn't saw it coming. Especially for the truck. The big guy usually become the torso. But here, he become the _legs_. And that combined robot is PURE SEX!

I believe that that specific manner of "drill tank" (the one with two drills at the front) is used as an homage to GaoGaiGar which used such a tank prominently as the legs of a combined mecha. I could be wrong- there might be an even older common source, but I'm pretty sure it's something that was in one classic series and then referenced/stolen in a bunch of other stuff.
Oh man. I love this review. I actually have this guy, got it when I was allot younger and I never knew where it was from (until recently). Though mine is in a bad shape somewhat (missing wheels, broken parts etc) I still love the guy.
Great review! I absolutely love Land Bison :D Mine has the same QC issues though. Horrible stickers and my Mach Lander has a gimp arm as well. Looks like a widespread QC issue at the time, my Sonokong Da-garn X Stickers are even worse!
Plastic Material on the Takara version is very good quality...same sticker issues on mine, but I guess it was the sticker quality produced during that time....very close to the Transformation on the series...Lander 4 is actually greenish in color on the actual toy, but on photos and videos it turns blue....It's a great vintage toy specially when it transforms into Land Bison.
I have had sticker problem with some transformer encore robots, but i realized i need to wash them with alcohol to remove the greasy surface they had before applying the stickers to make them stick. By the way the drilltank looks as a tunnel drill construction vehicle or some type of mining vehicle.
I like how Seven Changer was kickn their butt. He was badass in d cartoon though. Turbo looks like Transformers Cybertron Clocker/Swerve KO. Seems like only good part in this toy is when u combine them together

I played this thing to near death as a kid. sadly I got an anger tantrum and trew some of the robots arround and yeah they kinda still function drill no longer got his arms. Mach is missing a hand. uhm the red one you need to pop his head off to flip it. his arms are also loose as hell. I lost all the guns. they allmost got all of their stickers. still got the ramp shield but because of how much I played witth them because they are basicly my fave child hood toys. he can no longer hold it properly for either an arm will fall off because of its weight. or the fist will slide back in. so it stays on the trailer and the trail I kinda need to suport its combined form since missing a fist on mach prevents it from rather securing a good connection making the top fall off rather easely. But I still got them proud on display with some megazords. Realy he is one of the oldest toys from my child hood. and I still love it.
Japan just really Likes Drill Tanks hell I would like to Have one.XD & You were right on the Money the Drill Lander it's almost an Updater Version of Twin Twist from G1 Transformers.
oh god! I actually HAVE that Formula 1 car robot, i got it from a dollar store when i was like...still in gradeschool and had NOidea until now it was a knock off from the brave series haha
I love the combined mode but not the indervidual robots the ttuck has a huge belly and the drill looks stupid if i do buy it i will only display it as Land Bison

To be frank the individual robots of the G1 combiners also kinda sucked.
