- Become a junior Space Ranger and pilot your own Star Cruiser to battle dark forces on Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom! You'll start your training at Star Command Headquarters, where you'll pass through the queue and pass by Buzz giving instructions. (0:50)
Your mission is to save the toy world from the Evil Emperor Zurg. Hopping on your XP-37 Star Cruiser (1:50), you'll begin the mission through 10 scenes of giant toys and black lighting.
As you're traveling through the galaxy, aim your laser cannons at Emperor Zurg's "z" symbols located on various gigantic robots and other targets! (2:51) To stop the evil emperor from stealing the toys' batteries, you'll need to rack up as much points as possible.
You'll fly through different worlds filled with brightly colored, moving inhabitants. (3:38) As you enter Zurg's spaceship, be on the lookout for opportunities to score even more points. Watch out for Zurg on the right and fire your laser cannon as much as you can. (4:17)
Next, you'll take the Emergency Escape Hatch and have a final battle with the Evil Emperor Zurg! (5:00) You'll end the space journey with Zurg defeated and your mission accomplished. Buzz Lightyear will congratulate you on your success!
Be sure to check out your score and have some friendly competition with your group to see who ranks the highest on the Star Command ranking! (6:07) The lowest Star Command rank is "Space Cadet," while the highest is "Galactic Hero."

Best Toy Story Ever...
This was like my first introduction to Buzz Lightyear. I only saw Toy Story 2 in my 5th grade class. Also in 5th grade was my second trip to Disney, where I rode this again.
Oh man this takes me back. This was one of my favorite rides to go on as a child.

Last time I was on this ride in Florida was about 2 years ago. This ride as well as all of the others in Disney, are wonderful fun.

Has anyone else noticed that in this video, both the Buzz animatronic in the queue and at the very end of the ride are using their facial footage and audio from Astro Blasters, as opposed to their normal footage and audio for Space Ranger Spin? I find it both off and fascinating that the ride somehow has access to those files even though they are never used in Florida, and that they can be switched in so seamlessly. It raises a lot of questions for me, but I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this.
oh wow you're right, you can also notice that the animatronic's movement and the slidemaster are both extremely off sync because of the change
I'm going in 17 days and I'm so excited to ride this ride! One of my favorites. I love toy story! Toy Story Mania at Hollywood Studios in Disney is a wonderful ride too!(:

Somehow, the ride operators accidentally used the facial footage and audio for the Disneyland version of the ride. I've never seen any other video with that issue present.
I remember when I first went on this ride. It ended up stopping right in front of the Final Zurg and at first I thought it was apart of the ride, as a chance to build your high score. Of course, the ride had stopped, but the lasers and score was still going and I ended up beating the all time high score. You know, until it was 999,999 and it wouldn't go any higher.
4 years ago, on the trip before my last Disney World trip, we were driving down the road to Fort Wilderness campground and I saw a large Buzz Lightyear figure being hauled in the back of a large truck.
When I went to the Magic Kingdom on that trip, there was no Buzz Lightyear animatronic in the queue.

We've got this picture that caught Buzz's hologram face perfectly and he has this look on his face like "I JUST CRAPPED MY PANTS.". Its SOOOO funny! :'D Every time I see him on this ride now, I always think of it. :'D
I remember going on this ride when i was 6 years old, i am now nearly 19, so many amazing holiday memories.

This ride came out in '98. The show didn't air until 2000. But it would be awesome if they were in this ride!

I went in late August with barely any wait time! Go to Tomorrowland EARLY in the morning! Start with Space Mountain, get a ride it then get a fast pass for later. Then go to Buzz :D You'll have barely any line :)
My mom never lets me spin too much on this ride because of her motion sickness so I always make my brother ride with her😂 SPINNING FOR DAYS!

I got 149,100 on this ride it was awesome! My friend got 400,000 something because when he went on the carts stopped and he could keep shouting the same target over and over again! Lucky!
The one in Disneyland is the same! It has a cord. I actually prefer the WDW one without the cord :P
Wow, I knew it when it was Delta Dreamflight. That tunnel part when it looked like you were flying among the clouds reminded me of the movie, Flight of the Navigator. Still Buzz Lightyear is cool.
I went from New Jersey, and it was 2 hours and 30 mins away.
BUT I LOVED MAGIC KINGDOM AND YOU BETTA GET ONE OF THE MINNIE MOUSE OR MICKEY MOUSE EARS!

Wow I never realised how different it is to the Paris version! The props are mostly the same, arranged differently but most crucially the guns on here are attached! In Paris they are on a cord so u can shoot anywhere by leaning about. You also have staggered target, so different shapes and colours score different points!
this is one of my favorites. had a car to myself and got the straight 9's on one gun and like 40,000 on the other

In addition to Disneyland Paris' version, the versions at Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland, and Hong Kong Disneyland are identical to DLP's except they are called Astro Blasters instead of Laser Blast.

I went on this ride last time I was there, and I thought it was a cool concept, but they needed to be clearer on what you were supposed to do because I was a little confused at first. I also wonder what the technology behind the ride is, because there are no other rides that I can think of that exist today that use the technology that is in this ride. Sorry for the long comment, but I was just thinking about these things! :)

How common is it to get the maximum score?
When this ride breaks down you will hear hydraulics whirring and see a metal guard rail raise. The animatronics are at a lower level than the vehicles so the guard rail moves up for everyone's safety so that no one falls and gets hurt!
You just gotta know where to shoot. You can get the max score every single time.

I remember the last time I went on this, we got stuck where Zurg was in his ship, and we wee stuck there for ten minutes. I ended up getting over 1,000,000 points, highest score I ever got XD
You can't get over 1,000,000 points, the highest score is 999,999. And if you do get stuck your blaster is disabled and sometimes your score may reset.

Ishan Viv The blaster wasn’t disabled during an experience I had that involved getting stuck on that ride. My dad was in the same vehicle I was and he apparently decided to take advantage of that in order to end up with the maximum score, in which he did as I easily noticed him zapping up the wazoo, even before the ride finally got going again. The point where I got stuck was around 3:35 from what I remember.
I love theme parks and theme park videos! But a question. How do you film these great quality videos? I have an iPhone with amazing quality but not handy to always hold onto in attractions. Was thinking about a GoPro or something?
