It’s our inferiority complex that makes us want to own them in an argument so badly, forgetting that we were honoured with the truth of life and their opinions on islam just don’t matter. if we seek honour in anything else than islam, we will be humiliated.

Ameen ya Rabal'alameen, and asallamu alaykum my brother (or sister, akhi or ukhti fil deen) in islam. I just wanted to let you know that you're missing out on multiple hasanat for not only yourself but for others as well. You can gain all of these hasanat by simply adding full honorifics after mentioning the name of an important person in Islam or even Allah subhanahuwata'ala. Here's some more information about this: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_honorifics
Also, it's better that you refrain from using the abbreviation for these honorifics as described in this fatwa: www.aliftaa.jo/Question2En.aspx?QuestionId=3607
Take no more than 5 minutes to read this page and increase your good deeds greatly Insha'Allah subhanahuwata'ala (most people don't add subhanahuwata'ala after using a common phrase like Insha'Allah but I just do it for extra good deeds). May Allah azza wa jal grant you Janat-Al-Firdous-Al-'Ala in the next life without any hisaab and give you ease in all of your affairs in this life. Ameen ya Rabal'alameen

One day, I went out to check on my sheep and discovered that a wolf had devoured one of them. Since I am just a human, (I became angry) and struck the girl. Later on, I came to the Prophet -Sallallahu alahi wa Sallam- and reported to him the incident. He terrified me with the gravity of my action. I said, “Messenger of Allah! Shall I free her (as an expiation of my sin.) He said ”Call her over.“
When I did, he asked her: ”Where is Allah?“ She said, “fi as-samaa.”

While we might not have the luxury of obtaining a peer-reviewed study from the Pew Research Centre on whether such content empirically brings more people to Islam or pushes more people away from it, we know that in our Deen, the end does not justify the means. So, let's assume its pros outweigh its cons; that would still not make it right if it's fundamentally wrong in our religion. The "hows" matter a great deal in Islam. That's precisely why Bid'ah is strongly frowned upon. So, I suppose the question should be: "Is debating in such spaces fundamentally wrong or conditionally wrong?" May Allah guide us all.

    Salam,
Isn't there a middle ground? We can't keep taking islamophobes in the chin and ignore them?
Also the Muslims that leave because of certain bad Muslims, isn't that on them? Do we do Islam for Allah or because of intermediaries?
I totally get the Daeeh's that are looking for drama but that is not the same to those that keep it classy and respectful while also calling out the countless falsehhoods being pushed about Muslims.
How are the kids going to respect their deen when they only see the islamophobes take over the internet like it was pre 2016 before the online dawah scene increased.
Again, I believe there's a middle ground here. And I'm 100% against the drama between Muslims. I wish the daeeh's kept their beefs private and focused on the kaffirun talking ill about our deen.

Alhamdulillah. The first time i clicked on speaker's corner, i just saw a shouting match. I went off n didn't visit it again for a very long time until a question about a topic in Islam came up n it directed me there.
Speaker's corner on the whole is very toxic. The few good patient da'ees are pushed into the background because of the brasher, controversial, popular individuals. For these individuals the dawah session is a power trip and who can out do the other. Sometimes their behaviour, speech and actions are so shameful that you are embarrassed to call them Muslims. They are sometimes guilty of provoking bad behaviour and speech from the ones they engage with.
The enemies of Islam there easily entice them to engage in fruitless debates. They are so easily used to make Islam and Muslims look bad and the material is then used to mock or discredit Islam or the Muslims.
Definitely people who might have gone there online will be put off and not want to look at Islam.
Understandably the Muslims who have doubts or don't do their homework will turn away from Islam when looking at these videos. They don't bother to engage with knowledgeable scholars, nor double check that the info the anti-Islamists are spouting is authentic or not.
But prominent Muslims online airing the dirty laundry of other Muslims and taking personal battles online is not only giving ammo to the nonMuslims but also turns Muslims away from Islam.
Unfortunately the Sunnah practices and teachings of Islam are pushed aside for name, fame, money, pride and outdoing each other.
You want true Islamic knowledge, go and seek it from humble, accredited, knowledgeable Islamic scholars.

Large amount of people there have mental issues. Im not being funny. You can't concetrate on what people are saying or talking about cause of the amount of noise arount you. Its a fascinating site for sure but subhaan Allah its not healthy for brain.

I grew up in a non-Muslim environment (within a Muslim majority country), I barely had any Islam in my life, not that I didn't believe in Allah but I ddin't care for Islam. I had no role models in my life. I only started learning more about Islam and getting more interested and having some of the contentions that people had against Islam cleared through some (emphasis on some) of the speakers in speakerscorner.
I don't watch any more content from speakerscorner anymore, as eventually the topics become repetitive and I think I learned what can be learned from there. However, without the content from there, my stance on Islam wouldn't have strengthened as it is today and I wouldn't have been "vaccinated" against foreign ideologies, because let's be honest, you can't really put your fingers inside your ears and then liberalism suddenly disappears, it's become prevalent even in Muslim majority countries (where I live).
Although I don't appreciate some of the behaviors of the Muslims there, especially the theatrics that come from SOME speakers (I called them out on that on their videos, telling them that a Muslim must have a certain هيبة instead of moaning and spitting, etc), I can't discredit the role speakersconrner played in pushing me to learn and have a stronger faith than I did previously.

As a muslim I kinda hate these discussions😅it just makes no sense to me. Like first of all WHOOO are they to discuss certain topics. And then they 80% come with the statement „In my opinion“ ain’t nobody cares about their opinion on a certain islamic topic that has been discussed by the ulema before. Also I see many times people who have no knowledge like to discuss on BIG topics. I have been forcefully pulled into discussion many times because of family etc.. But Elhamdulillah I just do NOT discuss with them. Whatever they say I don‘t even hear it. I don’t get angry or take any offensive comment about me seriously. I just try to find a way to step out of the discussion. Then they feel stupid.

I appreciate your thoughts, Brother Saajid. However, I respectfully disagree with you on the topic of this particular video. Even if Muslims were to stop their presence at Speakers Corner, it's uncertain whether the haters will stop going there or spreading misinformation about Islam. The Muslims at Speakers Corner speak and explain Islam in a very nice way to a wide audience, leading many to embrace the faith. The Muslim presence there is crucial, as without it, there's a possibility that falsehoods about Islam would go unchallenged. It's important for Muslims to engage in debates to counter these misrepresentations. This engagement serves as a means to rectify misconceptions held by many, as encountering opposing viewpoints often prompts a reconsideration of one's beliefs. Ultimately, if individuals choose not to accept Islam due to feeling pressured, that decision rests with them. Some non-Muslims like that environment so they can say all their thoughts and ask all their questions. Your efforts to provide clarity are commendable. I hope that I receive a response from you regarding this. Thank you.

I agree with the naseehah, but let us all appreciate some of our brothers effort doing dawah which some non muslims start opening their mind and some of them revert alhamdulillah. We can’t just ignore and act as if those good outcome is nothing to the sight of Allah.
I agree some of the muslims behaviour are inappropriate, but make dua for them, and we hope that they heard you and change for the better. But don’t just condemn without pointing the good things they did. We are brothers in islam.
I believe there are still more brothers that behaved and have good manners at SC like brother Muhammad Ali, Hamza, Mansur, Abbas and so on. Even in US i like sheikh Uthman Farooq. His method is the same, only that the condition/crowd is not like at SC.
Even if you disagree, i could see that even making video like this in youtube, you also open the comment section where muslims arguing about you and other muslim brothers you disagree with..which (according to you)is also harmful to the muslim ummah.. don’t you think?

With all due respect there are spectrum of people that needs to be exposed to the truth. How to be exposed is another issue. But the positive is much greater that’s the negative. The results is self evident. For example shamsi has been a great influence for many to revert to Islam. I agree that some styles has to be turned. But overall it has been great. The audience is huge. Some feel defensive in the beginning but later they contemplate. My position is if some don’t like it, just don’t watch.

And me personally I learned a lot about islam from the brothers in speakers corners from the debates and dialogs I have watched. Sometimes it even made me jealous in a good way that I don't know as much as they do and it made me want to learn even more. Maybe you see it differently not everyone sees negative. With your logic Othman bin farooq is in that same lane. Sometimes he runs into those hostile dialogs. Now that being said. are you gonna say the same about him? if we don't stand up strong what are we supposed to do "turn the other cheek"
