never was into that ship but imagine the scene at sunset, but Ashfur gets impressed by brambleclaws decision to save firestar and this changes how he sees Bramble completely. Suddenly, Ash finds himself forgetting about squirrel and always thinking of bramble, which results in him awkwardly following Bramble silently. Now Bramble thinks this is either because he's with squilf or he fears Ash might tell everybody that he was reluctant to saving firestar. Sooner or later they would talk. And then what? They're still horrible.
It's almost funny watching Warriors struggle to write gay ships without *quite* saying it and _just_ dancing around the vocabulary whilst over on Wings of Fire land a dragon openly refers to another as her girlfriend

i've going to be honest: i really do not trust the warrior cats team to write gay romances normally or in a way that just wouldn't be borderline offensive. they can't be normal about woman so i'm glad it's never been touched. it's annoying as hell watching them act like any of the gay subtext was intentional on their end because i know most of the time it sure as hell wasn't. them trying to capitalise on that and act like they're books are so inclusive is a slap to the face when it's the fans that are doing all the real work here. "we love the gays" okay sure. it leaves such a bad taste in my mouth especially based on old stuff the team has said in the past regarding it :/
Literally though, Wings of Fire has showed two males cuddling and saying they love each other, Willow openly referring to Sundew as her girlfriend, and making note of a side character using they/them and having characters correct others when they refer to them with the incorrect gender or as "it". Not to mention the background mentions, like the non-binary librarian Sage, Anemone's crush on Tamarin, and Qinter coding.

I love the idea of Frostpaw and Whistlepaw being together! They just seem like friends, which to be honest frost has been pretty alone and sad. Who knows... maybe Whistlepaw is that 'young warrior'...
My personal favorite ship is Thriftear x Plumstone. I don’t know of anyone else who ships them but it’s so rare for she-cats to have canonical friends in these books and I think it’s cute.

Also mapleshade is gay but has never acted on it, but it’s in her dreams and it terrifies her because she is ultimately most afraid of her own happiness.
I think Blossomfall and Berryheart begrudgingly working together to try to sabotage clan relationships so they stop being so close and doing that darn mates from other clans things only to slowly fall in love is hilarious
Funny thing about the Scourge x Ashfur ship I actually did that for real serious It's a Scourge reborn fic (Second Chances) and during arc 2 I just had them be friends but then the chemistry they had was too great and the story took hold and next thing I know they've adopted the three instead of Squilf for Leafpool
Honestly i feel like it’d be fun is AshMaple was like a one-sides thing from Mapleshade. Like- while he takes other the dark forest in The Broken Code, mabye Mapleshade helps because she’s s̶i̶m̶p̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶h̶i̶m̶ trying to get him to like her, but Ashfur is too distracted doing his weird psichological warfare / flirting thing with Squirrelflight and then he ghost-dies never realizing Mapleshade had feelings for him and he could’ve been happy if he had only stopped obsessing over squirrelflight for one second.
