We have a 4 year old who loves Paw Patrol and Pupstruction. A year ago we discovered The Fixies and have been blown away with what she’s learnt from that show. Who doesn’t love Nolik. On another note, the Blackwood deal. Time will tell if this contract will be a success or a flat dud for the Avs organisation.
It’s always so wild to me that all the context of Marner’s contract drama is brought up except that when he signed it Babcock was still the Leafs coach and expected to be coach for another four years. I don’t know how the rifts Babcock caused with basically all the Leafs young players just get excluded from these conversations but every other perceived slight gets brought up. It’s wild to me to think that didn’t factor in to how Mitch’s contract (and Auston’s old one and Willy’s) shook out and how the Leafs are basically still paying for that, yet it’s never even mentioned. Like, really, you don’t think Babcock’s toxicity was a big enough factor to mention but you’re going to make sure to mention the offer sheet again? Funniest thing is that in the episode just after all the Babcock stuff came out they discuss how it must have affected contract negotiations and then just completely forgot about it going forward.

i dont think it can be left out how the vitriol towards mitch from fans and otherwise is so strong and singularly focused though, just in terms of how vicious and cruel people are about him for things that are either completely out of his control or not, and how he lately takes literally of the heat despite playing a team sport and also being a part of a group called the core four not the core mitchell. (and before anyone tries to say “that’s what the money is for” i will kindly ask you to spare me. you are not having the same conversation as me.) i was under the impression people were trying to distance themselves from the worst of the fanbase who gladly nail this kid to a cross for simply breathing (and has always existed, even when as adam says he was seen as the most popular guy on the team, and they are having an absolute blast now that it’s in vogue, but thats a whole other layer) by making disclaimers that they don’t hate mitch as a person when having conversations about the leafs generally or the cap or playoffs, since you know. clearly there are many people who actually do hate him as a person (scrolling on leafs social media simulation: he’s soft, he’s not a real man, he’s a f**, insinuating violence sentence one, insinuating violence sentence two, misogynistic language time one million, hockey uncle verbally harassing teenager who dares to defend mitch, etc) ofc it makes sense that his friends and loved ones look at how he is discussed (and how it drives clicks!) and want to say something. if your friend was the main driver of online discourse by some of the worst actors in this very niche and insular community, would you just go well! maybe if his agent hadn’t done this! sucks to suck! and pat him on the back and move on, or would you feel the desire to push back in his defense because you love him and believe you know him better than armchair gm turned death threat machine sunglasses twitter guy 3000? it’d probably be pretty hard to turn a blind eye! particularly for guys like bogosian who id wager feel they can take some of the heat themselves, not being in the market anymore, and aren’t the heavily media directed superstars who are not recommended to be getting into it with media and fans on the regular. we shouldn’t act like this is the most weird annoying thing ever imo
Every single time the NHL schedules something on a weird date, everyone freaks out and wonders why….9 times out of 10 the reason is football. Why did they schedule Frozen Frenzy on a Tuesday??? Football. Why did they move the Winter Classic??? Football. Why is 4 nations in February??? Super Bowl is three days before. Now if you want to talk about the time of day scheduling for some of these games and how the nhl refuses to stagger start times every once in a while…I don’t have an answer for you, though I do think they’re getting better at that
Hi guys! Love your show and listen/watch every chance I get. Felt the need to weigh in on Cocomelon, though. My grandson is on the neurodivergent spectrum. He's about to turn 5 and we've known since he was about 18 months. Cocomelon videos provide a certain visual and aural stimulus that he finds very soothing. So no, they don't "teach" in the vids, but they do provide content that appeals to a different audience. Just sayin' there's different vids for different kids. Keep up the good work and Happy Holidays to you and yours.

It was shortly after this entire TOWN and fanbase blamed every single thing wrong with the Leafs solely on Marner for like an ENTIRE summer, to the point where even other players were like "Jesus Toronto, even for you nutjobs this is a bit much." and tried to even out the narrative themselves. Since then. The whole "oh he pushed for this contract and people didn't like that" thing is also bullshit. Willy pushed so hard he SAT OUT half a season... no one's punished him for it.. ever. Also, no one's every said you can't critic the guy... they'd just like for it to be representative and normal, rather than scapegoating him for every last thing that goes wrong. If you think that didn't happen this summer, you're either willfully misremembering to be an asshole, or you have serious memory probems and should see a doctor.
