You got that right brother! My girlfriend and I played the CD Puzzle all the time and this was our song. Of course she left me and I don't even have a picture of her. lol
He's appreciated by those that know real guitar-playing which primarily involves great tone, taste.and note choice/not just a100 note-a-measure neck-tapping freak show !!!###
Love these guys! Got to see them live 3 different venues in Colorado in 1996 :) They are so extremely talented! Wicked guitar, insane bass and Phil is an awesome drummer! Most Overlooked band of the century!
It was so great to see my old friend Mike( Joie and Phil too) in Saratoga, Ca(our home town) and SF last year. Mike rocked last month at Wildwoodstock too. Good friend ,great guitar player. Got me inspired to play guitar all those years ago....
Dada is an unfortunate victim of poor timing. By the time they hit the scene rock had shifted to Seattle grunge. It's a shame they never garnered the attention they deserve. Incredibly talented, amazing riffs, melodies as strong as any band could hope for, harmonizing beauty. So talented.
I don't remember any singles from Puzzle except Dizz Knee Land, which is good but doesn't even make the top five of my fav songs from this great album.
If your from the Chicago area back when alternative rock station Q101 debuted it was shortly after that in 1992 Dim was played. Not sure if it ever was released that way as a single but that’s how I remember it. Then came Dizz Knee Land. This is how I first learned of dada! Such a great song, a long time standing favorite for me! Sorry I missed this concert, I lived so close to this theater back then!
Dada is a "Great" band! Three amazing musicians out of Los Angeles that have never really received the credit or attention they so richly deserve. They are still Touring ( I am going to see them next month! here in Denver..woot! ) Sometimes really good bands fall through the cracks of our collective musical consciousness, Dada is one such band. If you dont know you better pull up a chair and listen for a few..prepare to be impressed.
Dada is an awesome band!!! I love this song! in this album lots of great songs! "Dizz Knee Land"... and my favourite was "SURROUND ME" any chance who has the video...?
Brilliant - Seen these guys in Edinburgh in 1993/4? Can't remember the date but they were brilliant and Puzzle is an awesome album!!! Thanks for posting! :)
I love this band. I could tell you a story... But, I loved the first album, the second, but the third one(Subtrano or something), I wanted to like that album. I played it straight, drunk, stoned, nothing worked. The one song Bob the Drummer hit a tiny spark.
@@Jeff-jg7jh Subliminoso was really good in my humble opinion. 'Bob the drummer' was a very cool song, the story of Bob rang true for me as a former drummer for a couple of really cool cover bands. 'I Get High' is an awesome song. You have to listen to it with a very good sound system. I ran the CD through a K2 PA sound system as a line check at Harrah's Resort Southern California. Everyone was blown away and stopped setting up. They all wanted to know who these guys were. Then I put on Dim. A guy on the crew picked up a guitar and I got on the drums and played along.....lol Sometimes my job is like a dream. I ended up on organ and my buddy played drums eventually someone was on every instrument we had set up for the Blues Brothers who were playing later that night. lol I wished we could have gotten Dada booked there but Harrah's and Dada's booking agent, at the time, agreed that not enough people had heard of them and they were afraid they wouldn''t sell enough tickets for the 4,500 seat venue. I ended up seeing them at the Belly Up in Solana Beach with the Gin Blossoms a couple of years after that. I smoked a fatty with Michael and he held in a hit...ran in the back door, (the rest of the band and myself walked in behind him), and he blew out the smoke up into the lights and yelled something like, 'Are you ready?..I'm ready to Rock!" and then they played dim in a different key than the studio version just they did like in this video. The Belly Up is a very small venue so you could smell the weed very strong right away! lol They also played 2 Beatles songs very well, but I can't remember which ones. After they played the first one they took requests and people would shout out a song by any artist and they would start playing it. They did that for about 15 minutes and I was very impressed.
DAMN -- Michael Gurley's guitar playing is PHENOMENAL!! He's so underappreciated.

Best band ever playing one of their best songs!!!
After all the albums and years, still my favorite.

One of my favorite bands of all time! Only got the chance to see them once live and it was amazing.
Michael Gurley is a fantastic player as well as a really nice guy.
Just caught these guys tonight in Indy! Awesome show! Been waiting almost 20 years to see them live. Was well worth the wait.
Hottest drummer ever! 💘
Underrated is right. I saw these guys at Lee's Palace in TO many years ago, the musicianship was was well above par.

Energy, intensity, and expression. Bass beat hooks the soul. Lyrics and we ride shotgun.
I agree the album "Puzzle" is outstanding from start to finish but this song is also my favorite.
I don't think they ever released it as a single.

Was a single in the UK.
Saw them in Seattle. So much talent and skill that is hard to capture on stage.
