Hi Janki.. keep some food (broken rice - cooked or uncooked, bajra, roti etc.) and water near your nest place. Food should not be oily and spicy. Clean the water bowl every day. This will attract the birds. They will take time to find the feeders but once they do, they will be there the whole day. I also started keeping the feeders recently and now they are all over. You can use the same box...just by cleaning the older nest.... Because sparrows like to build own nest instead of using readymade...Their breeding cycle is almost of 40 days...starting from building nest to the first fly of baby sparrows...

This nest box is very simple and can be made using used carton boxes as well. Just ensure that the hole is not too big but just enough for the sparrow. Also, put it in a place which is secure and safe, spexially from cats

Please save these cute birds from extinction.Prevent from hunting but indian myana birds are big threat to these small birds.Myanas are considered as invasive and evil for small birds.Kill tose myanas and save sparrows and other small birds.You should also encourage other people to do as well.May you and your sparrows live long.

Wow, when you mention that the meter box is a dangerous place for a bird to build it's nest, I thought you're going to say it's dangerous for them to get electrecuted. Undoubtedly good job but wild birds can easily enter in the nest and destroy it even grab the baby birds. I think there should be entrance like a small PVC pipe. It would protest the nest/eggs/babies from strangers.
