Sparrows at our home

- Our family loves Sparrows.
So common and so sociable, the chirrup of these tiny birds were part of my childhood.
Over the years, the sparrows have disappeared as the concrete jungles spread across Hyderabad and a large number of sparrows have taken a flight to never come back.
The love for Nature inspired me to make small efforts to bring our companion back to my home.
i made nesting boxes out of cardboard, hung all around my home and terrace garden; i provide water, bird-baths and feeders.
and they are back again happy and multiplying.
They make us happy, give us company in the morning cup of coffee.
Their life motivates us as it reminds of,
Matthew 10:29-
"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside
your Father’s care.
And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."
Matthew 6:26-
"Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your
heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"

I had constructed six house for sparrow on my terrace. But here number sparrow are less.

I have kept bajra, rice and some water with it.
Distance place of market where sparrow is found is 200-300 feet away from house

I feed them 3-4 times daily with boiled rice.. they like it very much...

So much effort for d little birdies impressed me...& i too feel like doing d same...i do feed d sparrows daily in my balcony...along with crows...i enjoy it a lot...but making of a nest box is my next initiative i will love to do...by d way when is d breeding season of Indian sparrow s?...please do reply if u know

Breeding season in india is Spring and Summer, but do they use the nestBoxes throughout the year

Ur area has crows and eagles?In Delhi at my place only pigeons, crows and eagles....no sparrows at all

Eagles not many
madhu ghai, in my area pigeon, eagles, parrot and other birds comes but house sparrow bilkul nahi aati hain
