I truly enjoy your channel Tara. I was raised on a farm in Ontario Canada, and now that I'm a bit older, like 65 Yrs older, I can now sit back and enjoy your Video's. Thank you!
Hi Tara! I’m a small vegetable/row crop farmer in So. California. I can totally relate to your daily farm activities. Keep up the good work, we need more farm ambassadors like you!
You are just amazing in your skill set. Deep ripping with a huge NH articulated. Ditch level irrigating with siphon hoses much in the same style as the ancient Mesopotamians and Nile Egyptians.
Hi Tara I found your channel watching This Fram Wife. When she went to Framer 2 Framer video. Love your enthusiasm in what you are doing to show us how hard you are working in your life and what you are going through day to day. Keep up your great work
At the beginning of the video, you did an impressive job of keeping your left side tires running over every reflector on the highway. The 'thumpthumpthump' was relaxing...🤘🤣
So in California they are called pipes! In Texas they are called irrigation tubes. Now we use center pivots. A half mile system irrigates 485 acres using up to 2,800 gpm. Many sprinklers now are controlled using the internet. The row irrigation used 30" or two rows with furrows 60" apart. We used 1 1/2 or 2" tubes and changed usually 24 hours when the water would be 2600' to the lower end. where the extra ran into a tailwater pit where it was pumped back into the v ditch with the source water. Many of the world wide irrigation equipment companies got their start around Lubbock back in the 1940's
Loved this video and nice to see your dad is a little less shy in this episode. Seeing a couple glimpses of Mt. Diablo made me homesick for my 20+ yrs. on a 60-acre Grand Island farm. Keep 'em coming, Tara!
Tara, glad to meet you. Meredith from That Farm Wife told us about you. I watch farmers from North Carolina, Michigan, Texas and now California. I enjoy seeing various parts of the country and different farm techniques.
I'll give you some more good farm channels. Minnesota Millennial Farmer(corn/soybeans), Welker Farms(Wheat/yellow peas,Big Bud tractors), Tara,I'm also here on Merideth Bernard's recommendation.Glad I found you,You are a sweet, pretty ,intelligent ,hard working "farm girl". (I'm not a fan of chickens,,but yours are ok! lol.)Nice that you care for some that had a hard life before you got them.
Just these last few months i have stumbled onto you,Meridith, Acres of clay and WTFarm girl was my early favorite. You all bring quality entertainment and education to us and reach out just like a friend. I know WTFarm girl gets so much input help and support with what ever she,s working on.
Gd morning watching ur video I love ur work you do and I really wish you were my wife I'm a retired farmer and heavy equipment operator so we would get along real well and I have Rhode Island reds running in my yard scratching keep up the great videos I watch you more than I do my TV
That irrigating is really interesting to me. I'm strictly a dry land Farmer and I know nothing about it. Plus I would give a lot to be able to grow alfalfa here. Thanks for sharing!
And here I thought using tubes or pipes was unique to my area. Trust me she is making that look easy. There's a talent to those. The farmers in my area( northern wyoming) are slowly changing over to pivets but there still plenty of tubes to play with.
Gotta love those farm girls! But respect. Farming isn't easy like most of these farm videos show. They just show the big tractors & fun stuff. People need to see the real work.
Nice video! Here in northern Italy we irrigate alfa alfa through ditches as well, but I was very intrigued by this pipe system you use in the field. We make cuts in the ditch to let water come in, but with those pipes it seems a lot easier, would love a further explanation on that :) have a great weekend!!
Thank you for answering :) yeah, do you simply put this pipe in the ditch and water comes through? Because with our system we have one or two cuts in the ditch per section of the field and when we move on we must close it, whereas with the pipes you use you just put it in and out of the ditch. Am I missing something?😂
Stefano Riconda ahhh I understand! We have to prime the pipes by hand. It may be easier than opening and closing cuts in the ditch. But maybe not! Haha I will have to show a closer video of me starting pipes. You can see it a little in this video
Yep, I saw that moment, and that was what caught my attention, a closer view on the starting process would be awesome, I would love to see if I can somehow get it to work on my fields and give it a try! Thanks for your time, and keep these videos coming!!
Hey Hi again.. Baby farmer? Lol from what im seen in what videos of your ive seen. You have more heart and dive then any to or three other videos ive watched. Thats wounderful to see. Thank you.
Love love this stuff, you are amazing women, beautiful lady, lol I always like watching siphons,or what ever they are called, that’s how I call them anyway, sent over from Meredith, she another nice video vloger, thank BigAl calif.
I see your irrigation is different in California. Here in South Jersey we use pivot and hard hose travelers🤠 that’s what’s Nice seeing farmers around the state👍🏻🇺🇸
Maybe a slo-mo demo on how you get the tubes to draft h20, we don't do much water-gating out here where it rains usually too much & too often and at the wrong time. Great video content, my personal interest would be more details on equipment & crops. Grew up in vineyards doing things a little different but find your methods very interesting. Ohhhh when are you going to get out that old IH 866 & use it (can't remember model for sure) that I saw it in your barn? Your doing a fine job with your videos, thank you!!!
Hi there. As a 'retired' farmer in the UK I came to you via Meredith. I watch several channels in the US as your farming methods are on a larger scale than ours - (spiders included). My late wife and I had around 100 acres on which we had a couple of large cherry orchards, around 200+ free ranging chickens, - darned things were always finding a hole in their fence to get out. We grew some corn (oats, barley etc.) - most we sold but some we kept for chicken feed. The rest was grass for several local stables who also had the baled straw, - worked out quite nice really for a long time, then my wife died of a short illness, oh yes the family helped at harvest times, but none wanted to take over the farm. After a while I sold some of the fields, but my heart 'wasn't in it anymore' so I sold it and now I just put my feet up and watch 'You Tube farmers' like yourself, - (yes you have another sub). - P.S. I was rather surprised at you "farming" with nail polish on, and best of luck with your vineyard - they're a lot of work to get established and any sort of decent return for all the outlay.
Great videos! Its interesting to see how things are done differently across the country, I think your doing a great job in front of the camera, i'm still trying to get the hang of it lol Take care an keep the videos coming.
Tom Nugent I did a video with a little info on the orange tree, which I didn’t know a lot about. Apparently it’s the type of orange tree it is. They’re not good for eating. But some people have said it may be good for marmalade
Beaver Vineyards Names Tom... thanks for the info... those spikes were scary...LOL Nice Video about your Dads accident & how your Mom,Dad and you handled it. Nice picture album,.
