I liked your emphasis on the structure / format of Drag Den, esp because nung Season 1 it was parang an accumulation of their performance thru out the season. Given that, worst time for Russia Fox to blunder in an episode. She would've benefited from a top 4 format muna before the top 3. pero i like the remaining top 3. I'm sure people will have their opinions, pero this season is still highly entertaining, and levels higher than s1. Hope they get a season 3.
Yes, true, and I feel like I wouldn’t feel this way if it was more up-front or if I could have expected it this way.. like, within the episode, it made sense, but it just felt like my expectations were actually all invalid pala because I didn’t know the rules going in… but yeah I do like the top 3 too ❤️❤️❤️
The Top 3 format has always been there since season 1. Only 3 girls will reach the finale (Shewarma,MC,Naia in S1), specifically because it follows a "drag pageant" format and it is one of the "essences" of Drag Den: to have the brains hence the speeches EVERY time. The very fact that there were 10 girls to begin with, as opposed to the initial 8 in s1, means that they are bound to have a double elimination and they chose to have it at the largest bearing (as pageants too) challenge which showcases the queens' wits and brains. This is me sharing my two cents and not getting why this is shocking for everyone. This is the edge and heart of Drag Den, IT IS a "drag reality pageant".
Yeah, I mean like I said in my reaction, I think it’s because there no benchmark. You can’t use “since season 1” because…….. almost everything changed since season 1 😅😅😅😅😅😅 eliminations, dragdagulan format, immunity. There’s nothing to provide context. “Only 3 girls will reach the finale”? Honestly that is absolutely a choice from production. Drag Race has changed format so many times - top 3, top 4, lip sync for the crown, etc etc.. so… yeah, anything and everything can change. 😉
@@JustSomeBodisOpinion Yes I agree, a lot has changed and they played with the "drag competition" aspect of it a lot. But the context of having three girls in the finale is it being a pageant. In most pageants the girls who reach the final Q and A are almost always Top 3 (even in Miss Universe). That's where I'm getting at about the show's finale context.
@@JustSomeBodisOpinion I highly suggest we look at Drag Den in a different lens from Drag Race, i understand it's hard to avoid but they are not the same. My point being, the basis of Drag Den's ultimate context is from pageants -- specifically gay pageants in the Philippines. Drag Race influenced it greatly, no doubt. But looking at it at a different lens helps a lot to appreciate the show more.
@@josiahdavid456 ohhhhhhhh thanks for that context on the top 3 piece! I didn’t register in your first comment. Then, with that context, I completely am against Ep 7 being a flashback episode. Such a waste of an episode which could be in RUclips 😅 we can cut down to 4 in this episode, cut to top 3 episode 7. Then finale.
@@JustSomeBodisOpinionThat I agree with HAAHHA could've been a special ep nalang no? haha I guess budget? But if I'm not mistaken also I guess a possible reason would be what Direk Tonet Jadaone (one of the producers) mentioned last season on twitter na they had to cut down the footage of every episode so much to make it fit. I guess the flashback episode is for that footage to not be wasted? But then again, I agree could be just on YT or elsewhere haha.
Manila Luzon was on Top 2. Lost on a lipsync battle, walked away with poise and cried. Its a shame thats Russia Fox did that, infront of Manila Luzon.

The "fight" part is not a fight, it's an important conversation to have. We tend to dismiss things that don't have anything to do with us but for the queens and some audiences, that topic is relevant and educational especially for the younger viewers of the show. and the queens were not trying to vilify Russia Fox, the topic was something important to talk about, so they did. That part of the episode was interesting and it's not "whatever", it's something.
Agree that it’s an important conversation to be had. However, I still feel it was contrived. Meaning it wouldn’t have been made at that moment had the queens not been promoted by production. It was so thematically out of place from the actual events taking place. Which goes back to my gripe on how produced the entire thing ended up feeling. Anyway that’s my opinion 😃

@@makkunTV I especially didn’t like the “fight” backstage with Mama Russia. That felt very contrived.. as if that could ease the viewers into seeing her go…
@@JustSomeBodisOpinion it just left a bad taste in my mouth and almost makes me feel like they purposely did a double elimination on that one challenge they knew she would bomb. for SHOCK VALUE and be talked about, which is such a far cry from the Drag Den I fell in love with last season -- yung focused in featuring Filipino queens rather than over-producing a reality show
Yeah :( I really wish they go back to non-elimination format. I loved S1 where the queens were able to show EVERYTHING they brought. It made it stand out from their older more popular sister Drag Race 😅
-Ngl, I love Miss Russia but she ruined Moi's moment. I get and love how she doesn't give up and fights for herself but in the middle of your sister's moment?
-Kung may elimination format, it's not about track record pati sa Drag Race. It's survival.
-Also, deserving yung top 3. Truly.
-Mahirap lang bitawan si Ms. Russia kase ang galing niya but then again, it's a pageant compitition kaya may Q&A. Alam yan ni Ms. Russia sana ay pinaghandaan or ginawang funny nalang niya. Atleast di bias yung Drag Den.
-I really hope na tanggalin na nila yung special effects sa S3 at ayusin yung camera angles ng dragdagulan (& make it VS 2 girls nalang).
I am currently onboard and unable to watch the episode because our ship's internet doesn't allow streaming on Prime. Thus, I have to resort to watching this reaction video. While I'm satisfied with Drag Den's Top 3 so far, I'm eagerly anticipating watching it myself.
