By far the most beautiful era of aircraft in aviation history. Some of these planes are knockout gorgeous.

"10 Great Planes of WW2" And no Spitfire, no Hurricane, no BF-109 no Fw 190, no Me 262, no Ju-87, no Zero, no Yaks and the list goes on.... Mate what kind of 'top 10' is this?
Jane's combat simulator? Yea where was the spitfire tho?
It has the Catalina I’m happy
American propaganda
Should learn to read, where in the title does it say "top 10"
It's all American
They think USA = world
This should name "10 greatest American airplanes of ww2 starting up and fly"😏
If they fly 😂
Title says 10 great airplanes not the 10 GREATEST airplanes
Not all planes made in America.
I’ma go check the moon for any other flags be right back
It says great not GREATEST. Read!!
I love the WW2 aircraft. All of them. Wish I had been a pilot then in the 40s
ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, sure lol
Personalmente no me gusta volar, pero si me gustan mucho los motores con sus sonidos, así que enhorabuena por el video es alucinante👍
Saw most of these at an airshow locally a week ago! Good stuff.
I really love the fighter planes of WWll, my bedroom ceiling as a kid was full of those Revell models suspended from strings! The British Mosquito needs more air time.
The PBY so awesome 😍
The Corsair start up...wow!!
Love all these WWII Topics and the Channel is Nice too BTW the second Plane at 0:57 Now that's a Healthy sounding Engine
Jorge Rodriguez + Thank you ! :)
I flew the Stearman a few days ago
It flies very nicely, and it's super fun.
FYI: There is currently only one JU-87 Stuka being restored to airworthiness. The late Paul Allen acquired the remains of a recovered Stuka and it is currently in an in-depth restoration. There were two short articles regarding the project published in both AIR CLASSICS and WARBIRDS INTERNATIONAL magazines earlier this year.
Love the fwop sound of the huge props.
Love the p 40 shape and the Texan bulkyness looks nice
Great Video!!!!
What a sound I love it all killer attitude planes
Awesome video, nice work, loved the B-24 which my Father was a bombardier on.
Thank you man, Have a nice day :)
Loved these planes since childhood. Was collecting pics of most. I am not familiar with some featured here. Looks like the ones here are limited to US planes. Wish you can do also one on other famous WW2 warplanes like the Japanese A2M Zero "Zeke", Hayabusa "Oscar"; the British Spitfire, Hurricane, Mosquito, etc.; the German Messerschmitt Bf-109, Heinkel bombers; Russian Yaks and Sturmoviks. Thank you very much for this upload. Wish you more power.
I has always amazed me the impressive jump from ww1 planes to this gorgeous ww2 planes
In the p-38 clip the announcer was talking about the p-63 starting up.. oh how I would love to see that as well haha.
Great video. Thanks !!
Great video. It's not often that you get to see a maximum effort takeoff by a B 25.
Chris Graham + Thank you ! :) we appreciate it
B 25 was later mounted with loads of machine guns and was used for strafing ground and sea targets and was very successful in doing that.
Beautiful aircraft!
B24 Liberator, magnificent aeroplanes. My grandfather was a fitter on these aircraft in Cairo during World War 2. South African Airforce.
Those terrifying sounds when the planes were flying over the houses!!
This is sounds so good
B25 muito lindo em vôo fica sensacional 💓💓
P51 and rolls royce merlin, awesome!!!!!!
All you people complaining that he didn't show other planes - go make your own videos. Nobody owes you entertainment.
1:16 this guy is a badass
Yeah and its really easy to use in war thunder
@@sebedeez even better
Nice pictures. Written information uniformative!
The pby catalina is a really humiliating plane to fly it in war thunder but the p 40 is really good to use
BELLISSIMI!!!!!
Nothing beats the growl of a radial engine. I miss the double Wasp of the Dc 3.
The p 38 in the hands of a skilled pilot could turn on a zero. Bong would shut or feather one engine and throttle up the other whipping the plane around. Skill and big balls that man could fly!
That did not happen in a turning fight.
Beautiful video indeed, and the description of each type makes it even more enjoyable.
Jason Railson + Ou Thank you very much for your kind words! Have a nice Christmas
@@CarNewsTV Thank you! Merry Christmas and Happy 2020
@@GekkoKamen Perhaps you could have stated what each of the engines were.
Corsair i love it
A dream !!
5:15 That's good! A little piece of armour plate to stop the gunner's knuckles getting shot.
Iar 80 should've been on the list too!
PBY - Popular with the Japanese Fleet ? Did not know that they had them. Yhanks.
I think that B-25 Mitchell pilot was trying to demonstrate it's quick take-off ability like it had to do from an aircraft carrier during that first bombing raid over Japan early in the war. That nose wheel was up mighty fast! However, if he had really been on an aircraft carrier flight deck, I think he would have gotten pretty wet! It just shows what an amazing feat it was to get those bombers, fully laden with fuel and bombs, off the carriers like they did back in the war.
Stuart remember the carrier that they took off from was steaming at 30 knots into a 30=35 knot wind !!!! They already had 60 to 65 knots of speed !!! All made it off no dunking !!!!
@@wilburfinnigan2142I didn't think of that! The Wikipedia page on that famous raid said that the B-25s had been modified to carry extra fuel to almost double their range. A few things were done to lower the weight like carrying fewer machine guns and using lighter bomb sights. But it is amazing how successful that mission was. It certainly was a morale booster for the Americans early in the war.
Ok, why are people so massively triggered by this video's title? I see nothing wrong here. It said there would be 10 Great Airplanes. This is what I expected. This is what I saw.
Cause he put 10 american planes and there are german, british, soviet, italian, etc.
@@mateosou6610 True, but I don't think he specified WHICH planes (in the title). I just don't see why people are MAD about it. It's not like he lied about it.
We are mad because put only American planes.
@@redsabre_
Does someone can say that those airplanes are not great? I don't think so. So the title is right. Period.
It doesn't mean that the dozens of other airplanes, americans or from other countries are not great too. It is simply a sample of great airplanes.
TheBigHurt
I completly agree with you. I think that some have difficulties to understand the meaning of words.
From someone who have not english as native language.
I love listening to these old piston pounders 😊
@milla698 and which one is your favourite? :)
Wow... a flying PBY... can’t be many of them left..
Recommended gang
I was at the Corsair one
Cool
You should have called the video: "10 Great Allied Airplanes of WWII Starting Up And Fly". I really missed the BF-109 and the Yakolev-9 and some of the MiGs. Would be awesome if you would take yourself some of your time and make a compilation containing a few of these examples. I love the idea though, it satisfies nevertheless ;)
RAMIMAX
"10 Great US Airplanes of WWII Starting up and fly"! I missed Mosquito, Spitfire, Lancaster and more!
Hey John, one consolation.
The P51, did not come into it's own.
Until it met the Merlin.
John Johansen Too true! Missed a number of other US planes, too. But good videos of what was shown.
@@JohnJohansen2 It depends on where these videos were filmed and what types of aircraft these I individuals/groups own so everybody's "favorite" may not be shown.
He should have called it "10 Great American Airplanes of WWII Starting Up And Fly"
F4U "Skipper" CORSAIR
Man you miss the B17G, but anyways, nice video
Still wish the world still used planes like these for combat instead of Jets if they did I would definitely join the Air Force.
Imagine all of this passing by in your neighboorhood thats kinda scary 😂😂
I used to work under the flight path of a local airport, you'd hear small personal single engine planes all day, but you knew when a WW2 plane took off, it would shake our concrete building. It was fantastic
"These were the only videos we found"
The T-6 Texan - used by the CAF to simulate the Mitsubishi A6M Zero.
Really that is all I get of the P 51
only American or what???
Bart: Click bait my friend
He never said they would be from other countries
@@hardlydank932 And 10 great planes MUST I repeat Must have some British planes after all over Europe they gave your pilots a inferiority complex
@@jacktattis1190 I'm not saying the American planes or pilots are better or worse, I'm just saying that the planes in the video are all subjectively 'great planes'
@@hardlydank932 Let me say this When a plane is the only one you have then it is indeed a great plane. TO YOU
Bf109,Spitfire,Ju-87
at11 sounds very nice.
I liked the selection and the information about each plane.
However, the Submarine Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane, Messerschmitt ME-109, Heinkel HE-111, Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and Boeing B29 Superfortress are all missing.
Ah yes, the Submarine Spitfire - the terror of U-boats
I recognize the airfield the T-6 takes off from, my home airfield, Harvey Airfield, Snohomish Washington
P51 was almost on the scrapheap due to its underperforming engine, when they put a Rolls engine in it, it came alive… and became a legend.
Allison version was very fast, but only in low altitude.
P 51 mustang was my favorite
Love the disappearing man
Should've had a Spitfire in there also it's lacking a B-17 and Avro Lancaster
Hear that? That's the sound of when America was awesome.
can you imagine seeing these revolutionary machines for the first time during ww2. youd think theyre from outter space
This should say 10 Great American Airplanes of WWII. And it should have included the P-47 and the F6F Hellcat.
Finally! Audio of war birds mostly devoid of wind noise, children talking and air show announcers. Please, sir, may I have another?
Michell doing short takeoff😍😍😍
It's going to bomb Tokyo......
Despite your ad; I love American history
what about the p 47 & the f4f wildcats
The b24 you saw can be seen at a the moffet airfield in California
Nice cars bro
T-6 TEXAN is my favirate airplsne
Car News TV = Car can fly
Ill fly the first one that was on the water and this one. And that other one get high in it and by like super duper high passing thru some clouds and keepem in my collection
I am just here for the startup sounds
The most favorite WWII airplane is the f4u corsair
Did anyone get an Expendables vibe when the Catalina was taking off. Or was just me ?
Honestly, I'm here for the P-40...
You forgot the Douglas Dauntless a plane used in WWII
4:18,wait THATS ONE OF THE MOST AIR WORTHY P40, it was known to be called, "The flying tigers" right?
i saw a AT-6 at an airshow plus a TBF avenger and a TP-40N (trainer p-40) hey that p-40 is a TP-40N
Car news, *uploads a video about planes*
p38 is so beautiful
I haven't noticed apparently these engines runs Counterclockwise
I was about to say that p38 y’all first showed wasn’t about to go nowhere
Come on! I wanted to see a stuka
I will decline the statement that the PBY is a great plane in fact it was deadly to the crew often stalling due to the high drag and underpowered engines many times it was alone patrolling ahead of the US Naval fleet sometimes being spotted by the IJN and often shot down being unable to out maneuver any enemy aircraft
wow all of these planes are a piece of History from the WW1 and the WW2 but some of these planes didn't make it during the war some did and some didn't but my favorite war plane it has to be the B17 bomber
The PBY has the same engines that the B-24 has on it,many, others have different engines in them.
BF.109:Am I a joke to you?
B 26 meraudader looks sick or if im wrong b25 mitchel
10 Great Airplanes of WWII, it says, and indeed they are. The title is not the 10 GREATEST Airplanes, so I do not see any problem with this nice selection...
Cool collection of planes. IMHO the Texan always looks like a Zero ...and the P-40 was like a Spitfire...love the B-25 inside shots...reminded me of my ride in the Yankee Lady B-17....and those P-38s were just amazingly engineered flying machines
Miss the B26 Marauder, the B17 Flying Fortress, the Mark IV Spitfire, the Avro Lancaster, the Hawker Typhoon and Tempest, the Republic P47 Thunderbolt, the Douglas A20 Havoc... 😫
Urrmm......Spitfire?? Lancaster bomber?? Any of these ring a bell? Oh no I forgot.......'Murica!!
Idk but........ Usually B-24’s are used for.......... Up Sky’s when B-29’s are lower Sky’s and Also the B-17’s are part of the Back up.
Wings of Freedom!!!
