  • Welcome back to my channel!
3 years ago at the end of the pandemic. I decided that I was going to pivot into a career in technology.
My why’s were the ability to make more money, work-life balance and more freedom with where and when i work.
I am married with two beautiful daughters and wanted to be able to work more flexibly and still be here for my kids.
I was able to land my first two roles remote and hybrid as a web content specialist and Platform support engineer being self taught.
I was laid off from my last role as a platform support engineer back in June 2023 and since then have decided to solidify my work experience and knowledge with pursuing my Software Engineering Degree at WGU.
I'll be sharing about my first day at WGU, some of the content in the courses as well how I will try to organize and stay on track with my classes.
You will also see my real life of navigating being an online student and Mom.
If you are a mom or parent considering going back to school, Stop by and say hello. Let’s build a community where we support each other in our roles as parents while also fueling our dreams and passions.

    Until Next Time ✌🏾

Congratulations on pursuing your degree at WGU. I am also a fellow student getting an information technology degree. Definitely would like to learn how to code and be a web developer. I love seeing another black woman pursuing a degree in tech and working in the field. Many times we lose things only to get something much better for us. All the best in your education and career objectives

Thank you so much for your kind words! It was seeing black women before me in the tech space that gave me confidence to self teach and pursue roles in tech. We open doors for others who look like us. Wishing you all the best in your journey as well!
I will also be posting videos of my study sessions that help me pass my OAs, currently editing the one for Intro to IT. Please dont be a stranger! Anything we can do to support one another ❤️

Thank you! I have since passed the pre-assessment and now preparing for the OA. Keep up the great work as well! I love the fact that courses on Sophia and study.com can transfer. One of the many things I love about WGU.
