    Oh this is interesting.. It's like that beautiful balance you hear on most Taylor models of similar body shape, but with that deep well of resonance usually reserved for more traditional builds... Rarely do I hear a guitar in a demo and immediately think "I really want that", but that is a truly great sounding instrument.... Great job reviewing the black Taylor AD17 you changed my mind a bit on the GP series.

    Well thanks to you, and after a lot of research I purchased the Yellow Master's Choice, incredible!!
    I found your channel when I was actually researching Breedlove Premier Concert Redwood-Rosewood guitars.
    I almost passed by your initial Furch video but you're enthusiasm had me intrigued.
    I purchased my guitar at Elderly Instruments in Lansing Michigan and I was fortunate that they had the Breedlove Premier Concert available that I thought was my dream guitar.
    Make no mistake, the Breedlove Premier is a fabulous instrument, and I would love to also have one of those!! I have a lower price Breedlove, the ECO Discovery S Concert Cedar-African Mahogany, and I love that guitar!
    But since I did have to make a choice, when I played them back-to-back, the Furch had that extra something special in the sound that spoke to me.
    Thanks again Jeremy!!

    With the rod that is driven into the heel, it would be interesting to see if the heel would crack over time. or because a lot of mass has been removed, if it would be more likely to be damaged if it gets bumped.

I’ve had it for about 3 months now and it hasn’t even needed an adjustment.. not even after putting .013 Strings. I feel like It’s a perfect guitar. Very modern yet somehow sounds and feels like an old great vintage jewel of an instrument. How is it that they’re building these guitars so innovative and so well made and sound and play this good? I returned it back and got my money back. I was afraid to order online. So drove about 2 hours near Munich, aiming for Furch Yellow, but ended up with Blue MC CE. Seriously, it sounds better and better. Today a guy who knows me buying guitars asked if I am selling my Furch. I said no. It stays with me. Best regards from Salzburg, Austria.

    Love the channel. I have a $800 brand new, Alvarez OM 60C that inspires me way beyond my taylor or gibson acoustic. The a string tuner was drilled a little un even, that makes it a little harder to tune, but a small cost would fix it. I cant say enough about Alvarez,and there Chinese Masterworks series. I played the dreadnaught, and it shocked me how good it was for the money. The African Mahogany is beautiful. I played and had a budgit to afford a Martin Clapton OM, but walked with the Alvarez. I always want to support American companys, but better is better for me!

    i have said it before, when you really love a guitar, your playing is so much better, crisper, more focused! your enjoying it! i was first made aware of these a few years ago by Richard's guitars Uk! and he raved about them! he is a very unorthodox individual! and has had a lot of flack, but the guy seems genuine and won't let a guitar leave his store unless it plays the best it can! and if that means his tech has to spend a couple of hours sorting things out, so be it! what does a tech cost an hour £40-50 maybe? but even on a budget £300-400 guitar still gets sorted! kudos to him, and his team! Keep educating us Jeremy! the big brand names are not always just what your looking for, but when you find it, you know!!!

      i have the furch red MC and a maton messiah. Very different guitars indeed. The sound of the furch is miles better than the maton but amplified... The maton is 100% the guitar I take with me to play amplified. Not the biggest fan of the Furch LR baggs element

    0:32 Man I love that song!! I'm sorta new to Isbells music but the first time I heard that song I immediately learned to play it.. and forgive me for saying but I really like Morgan Wallens version just a smidge better. Lol.. I like that Morgan plays that song in a little bit lower key.. Same chords but lower key. I think Isabell capos on 2 (album) and live sometimes capos on 3.. Morgan is tuned down half step and capos on 1 so basically he plays it in Standard.. just easier for me to sing in that lower key. Anyway I'd love to check out a Furch Guitar. I've only had one guitar with a Cedar top but it had Mahogany B&S..

    2021 Furch Red Master' Choice or a 2022 Taylor 814CE LRD with Honduran rosewood sides and back? I am stuck in the " I can't choose" dilema. Thoughts for a worship leader? Also I wanted to ask your thoughts on is ability to be a strummed rhythm guitar. I notice most people say it is excellent for fingerstyle but curious about your thoughts on strumming

    • @vyvynylification

      For what it's worth: it does strumming really fine. That same bright and full sound with a deep bass. It doesn't sound like a martin, but it sounds amazing regardless.

    Also, Jeremy mentioned "R. Taylor guitars", Bob Taylor, co-founder of Taylor guitar's "boutique brand". That got me hunting RUclips for some sound clips and now the Taylor guitar company is even more sad to me than before, because R. Taylor guitars sound really good. Meaning Bob Taylor knows how to prioritize tone quality for builds when he want to. 900 series Taylor's don't sound all that different than 300 series Taylor's, it's "that Taylor sound" which some love, but it's a sound that's a product of a manufacturing process that helps Taylor maximize margins.

    I also just tried a Furch for the first time about a month ago. Elderly had about 8 Furch models on the wall to try. I really, really liked the Yellow MC (which you played in the last vid). I compared it to several Martins, Taylors, and Breedloves, several much more expensive than the Yellow MC, and felt like it was no contest. However, like you, I am a little turned off by the side-mounted electronics. I had my own electronics preference, and didn't know how I was going to deal with the hole in the side of the guitar. The Master's Choice line is a bundled set of features at a nice price, which I'm guessing is why so many stores tend to order them. Instead, I purchased a Furch Vintage 2. While I liked the look of the Yellow MC (except for the side electronics) better, the Vintage 2 was cheaper, and had no electronics. The same AAA-grade, custom-tuned Sitka top over the solid Rosewood, and played and felt just as good. Hopefully you can do a video on Furch's Vintage line soon!

    • @vyvynylification
      @vyvynylification 6 месяцев назад

      They're technically 1 step down from the red series. Only the red and rainbow series get voiced tops AND backs. But, from my personal experience yellow and above are all just great. It's more about specs. The orange are discontinued now, but probably my favorite guitar. Similar to the red but: cheaper, ebony fretboard, they have fretmarkers and less bling!

    Beautiful guitar and great review!
    A couple things...
    1. Are they using sustainable wood sources? That is an extremely important thing to a lot of folks like me.
    2. Does a side mounted system actually impact the sound? I would be surprised if you did a blindfold test if that would be noticable.

    Hi Jeremy, I couldn’t agree more about the bolt-on neck. I had a 000 custom build from 12th Root Guitars out of Colorado. Robert Schneider is the owner/luthier. You can see mine, the PRC, on his website. He mentions a client in Texas, and that would be me. I had never owned a bolt-on neck guitar before, but he won me over to try it. I’m a fan now.

I live 8 miles from Taylors Main Headquarters/Factory . These are better than Taylors and I have owned many Taylor 114’s to 914’s . Bob Taylor is a good man doing wonderful things but this is. Rainbow isn't *always* above Red; it's a custom shop, but you can specify fairly basic appointments (e.g. satin finish) or very luxurious ones. You can also specify body shapes that aren't available off-the-peg, such as super-jumbo (which used to be a standard from them, maybe before they introduced the grand audi) and round-shoulder. But it's an expensive option.

    • @vyvynylification
      @vyvynylification 6 месяцев назад

      Rainbow series can be spec'd pretty basic, true. But what the rainbow has in common with the red is that they're build at the same level. ONLY the red and rainbow series have voiced tops and backs, all other models only have voiced tops. Basically, the red is as good as it gets and rainbow are build like the red, just with custom specs.
