    Great tips! Do you have any suggestions for when the break is at the weld where the ring meets the leg when this occurs at the top ring. In this case the zip tie method does not work. I am thinking it may need to be repaired using the same method as where break occurs where the ring joins. I was wondering if there may be any other options.

      Unfortunately generic tomato cages are cheaply made and often come from the store already broken. The tack welds are so small all it takes is a little rust on the uncoated metal to break. It’s very common on tomato cages. Since the zip ties are plastic they wont rust. Perhaps saying “more reliable” would have been more accurate than “stronger.” Thanks for pointing that out.
