English is not a qualification or regulation required in PGA tour He let his irons and putter did the all the talking and they were loud and clear that no need translation for everyone to understand his final score either Congrats

It is extremely difficult to translate live. Also, what is spoken and the intended inferences across cultures makes things even more difficult besides just the words.
I’m another big Hideki fan. For some reason the Japanese Pros are not comfortable learning and trying to speak English being they play mostly in the US. Same with the LPGA Japanese pros. The Chinese, Korean, and Thai LPGA pros speak English (and very well) in their interviews but for some reason the Japanese players do not. I wish they would. At the Olympics, there were no interpreters for Hideki at the post press conference so we didn’t get to understand his questions and comments.
I think he is very proud to be Japanese and wants to speak Japanese. You can tell he picks up a little English here and there. But would much prefer to speak his native language.

The translator is not good, he does not follow what hideki says, he made the story himself.
