Thanks for uploading this video! It was an enjoyable watch, and Jack Webb certainly seemed like a kind person. I'm glad you have this video tape to preserve his memory.

I'm really trying to wrap my head around by why Reg Grundy Productions was so late to the game. By the early 1980's, game show producers were starting to see the rerun value, but for some reason, RGP didn't see it. The entire run of "Scrabble" exists.
Sale of the Century seems to have poor luck with preservation. The Perry era of SotC at least has the syndie run (most, albeit not all, of the episodes through Lisa Munoz's run are out in the wild or tape trade), the late 1988 to 1989 episodes, and even a scattering of the pre-'88 episodes, but the Kerry run only has a few audio recordings while the Garagiola run, as far as I know, only has a single short clip. At this point, I'm just gonna be thankful the syndie run survived: I remember back in 2006 or so when literally the only SotC clips on RUclips were one from Alice Conkright's run and one from Curtis Warren's run. Still, the episodes after Lisa's lot win must be real disappointing if GSN and particularly BUZZR have never run them.
@@VahanNisanian It is possible the first 15 weeks of Scrabble does not exist, even though a fair amount of it found its way to the internet via tape trading. The earliest episode USA was 10/15/1984. USA didn't air the four months or so of the Spelling format, and the last six months of the original run(9/14/89-3/23/90), and the 1993 run didn't air on USA either(80 episodes, five weeks of that 21 week run was rerun). That is about 18 months or shows, give or take a few weeks.

Kari had a good day today, winning $17,818 worth of prizes and cash too the $500 on the board and then the car. Also congrats to Jack on winning $1,000 on the board.
No. Not the one who created Dragnet, Adam 12 and Emergency. This is the contestant Jack Webb and has no relationship to the creator/actor. Just to clarify it for you guys so there'll be no confusion.
An amazing episode from '87. Kari made the right decisions on not buying any instant bargains or the Instant Cash. I got to applaud Cleo for fighting back in the speed round, but it was not enough. If Kari had the answer right that she missed, then Cleo would have felt a little better about that loss. Jack did get $1,000 on the fame game board despite some bad luck with the buzzer. Kari ending the day with a big car win on the Winner's Board.
@@brentrogers4774 Car was won on 4/9/1985 on daytime, champion Morrie won the car the day after Mark Decarlo's 11th win for $50K on the daytime version.
I'd heard of it happening before, but I think this is the first time I've watched it happen. Which syndie episode had the two contestants with triple digit scores? It would have had to have been a near-perfect game and/or one with at least one Money Card in the mix. Interestingly enough, this game had three missed questions (not including the second Fame Game) worth $15, but a $15 Money Card was won. EDIT: Found the syndie game. For the curious, it was S-49 with Steve/Devera/John.

@carlosethangodinez6656 I do not own any game show episodes or vhs to digital converters. Sorry!
Thanks for posting this, the master tapes of the daytime Sale of the Century were wiped prior to 1988 so this may be the only copy in existence.

They never should've retired the WB.
This was probably before or after Tom O"Brien's long reign and less than four months before the debut of Winner's Big Money Game.
And also about at least 5 months before Jay Stewart left Sale of the Century and got replaced by Don Morrow.
How could it be anything other than before or after his run? It’s clearly not during.
Jack Webb?? Are you sure it's not the one with (tympani drumroll, CLANG!!... CLANG!!!)
