    Zimmerman plays this like an Intermezzo, just like Webern wanted. I think its my favorite recording now. Thank you for the upload !!

    Thank you so much for that Video. Definetily one of my most favourite pieces of Anton Webern. To me, especially the first movement shows his musicality and power of composition and creativity. Here, Webern is doing his very best to present a dodecaphonic piece that is shaped by an almost classical use of the sonata form. Amazing!

    I've come to appreciate this work a lot more. Beneath the 12 tone, there is a certain refreshing feel about them

    Very expressive performance from Zimmerman. Perhaps his first recording of a 12-tone/ atonal piece? the B in bar 7 is way too loud and the 2nd mvt could be a bit more scherzando in flavour but i like the way he savours each moment. Gould is diametrically opposed to this....quite a shock to hear immediately afterwards.
