  • Well, I thought I’d keep the Raptor R for a little longer but the Lunar TRX had my name on it! Here is why I think the TRX is a better buy!
Editing note- The Raptor R weighs 400ish lbs less than the TRX…. Not more….

I had my raptor R for one week. Realized it’s nowhere near $50k more than a Raptor v6 EB ‘37 package. Basically the same truck with a louder exhaust and quicker engine at the cost of 4-6 mpg loss. Traded it back to Ford for a v6 ‘37 for $50k less and couldn’t be happier.

Smart man right there. Your average person cannot understand this concept of Fords production directly influencing the market value. I was a previous Raptor owner as well but when I saw Ford Dealers bending customers for 10/20/30/40/50 thousand even 100k over MSRP I switched to the TRX. My 2023 TRX will only go up in value as the Hellcat motor is discontinued. Ford on the other hand will continue producing raptors as they have for 10 years now and customers paying over MSRP are going to get railed and it will be bad. We’re talking about being upside-down 20-30 thousand dollars. That is a bad day. There is no denying Ford designs a highly desirable product. The issue is production. Ram has built and sold roughly 50,000 TRX’s over the last 3 years at reasonable prices. Ford’s production numbers have maintained roughly 3,000-5,000 units per year. Which is atrocious. Respect the fact Ram has stolen the large majority of Fords Market Cap.

Give me a 1970’s or earlier Ford, Chevy, Dodge and I will never complain. I just bought my TRX from Granger in Iowa. $11,500 discount and I was able to order one how I wanted it. The only thing that was a bummer, was waiting 10 months for my truck to arrive. Either way -Ram or Ford- the owner wins. The real loser is Chevy/GMC owners.

So glad my 23 R allocation was stolen after hearing the horror stories of trucks ripped apart out of Ford assembly line to repair issues. I ordered a 23 TRX at that point and love it. Heavier duty truck drive train wise. I hated the 10sp in my Roush and pretty sure the R would have been the same. TRX also has a much heavier duty Dana 60 full float rear and cast iron block which will last longer and stronger.

100% comparable? The engineering of the R is much more superior than a TRX. The predator engine is a much more rarer engine and is hand built compared to an mass assembled hellcat motor. The icing on the cake for me that proves your bias, outside of the price difference in your reason for trading in the R is the FACT as you stated, you’ve owned two TRX and had not one negative thing to say about the TRX so I guess it’s a perfect truck right? Yet you kept finding things to bash the R. New redesigned 2024 R with over 700hp has already been confirmed. I guess that’s was Fords reasoning. You’re obviously a Ram fanboy, and haven’t done thorough research on comparing both trucks. In every meaningful competition the R will spank your TRX and if you get from under your rock you will understand in this world, that cost more money. The rarer something is, the more it costs.

You obviously didn’t take time to watch the entire thing did you? Too busy thinking of this nasty novel to write. I have plenty of things that I dislike about the TRX. Once I do the video on the Lunar TRX, you will see. Essentially stating it’s not worth $30k more is a more than valid enough reason. Believe it or not, my 2018 Raptor was and still is the best truck I’ve owned. I will get a 2024 R and see if they’ve taken care of the tiny things I dislike. Let’s get real, if you spend 115k on a truck, you want it to at minimum come with the options it’s supposed to have. Do some more research though because the R does not SPANK the TRX in every meaningful competition.
