I agree totally, I enjoy and embrace the stillness of January. We relaxed the first couple of weeks in January after such a busy Fall and holiday season. We're working on indoor projects now but at a slow pace, no rush. It's freezing here in the Northeast so we have the rest of January and all of February to get it done before Spring when everything gets busy again. Enjoy the peaceful winter! ❤
I am just about 54 and for a huge part of my life I was a single mom of 3. I worked full time to take care of my kids and had very little time for my home. Now, I am happily married to my high-school sweetheart and I'm a stay at home wife and mom. I love cleaning, decorating and making my home a sanctuary for me and my family. I appreciate you and your videos. They are inspiring 🙂
My husband and I were not empty nesters for 32 years of our first 34 years. We began teaching the kids to pick up their toys and help make their beds as toddlers. Then by the time they were in first grade, they were doing most of it, which was a great help and training for their adulthood. Just an elderly mom, watching how hard you were working…thanks for your wonderful videos.

We raised 3 sons too, when we got married it was blended family, my son was 2 my husbands sons were 2 and 3 12 yrs later welcomed a daughter. Now our sons are 43 43 44 daughter 28 10 grandchildren two great so far. Take care. See you soon.

In a way not buying anything for the month is like a fast because you are denying self and spending quality time with God and your family. As mothers, slowing down is hard to do. But I pray that you will rest in Him and just listen to His still small voice.

This January has been very busy and stressful for me after a very busy and stressful holiday season. Next month is crazy too and then there’s March when the kids are home on spring break which is always chaotic. Maybe April will be better.🤷♀️

Nicole, I love what you have shared about being calmed by Gods word. We are t.v. Watchers too but I have been so bored with it lately. I have started to keep a little devotional by my chair and will reach for it, put my earbuds in and listen to some worship music, read the devotional then study the scripture it references. I do that about half an hour before going to bed and it has been marvelous. When I was your age I was that harried and hectic mom. I wish I would have learned what you have already grasped. God bless you!! Also, I noticed you do not have end tables or lamps by two of your sofas. What do you do for lighting? Hubby and I have downsized and are trying to figure out how we can do away with some of these tables. They’re cluttering up the smaller space! It’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks. LOL
