I like your simple cozy style, less is more. My new motto for 2025. If I might suggest, more the faux tree where the record player is and find a second hand chest of drawers for the other corner. You could store crafts, games, etc and put the record player on top.
Thank you for sharing Nicole! I think you have a beautiful warm cozy home. And one can tell it’s a home filled with with love. So enjoyed the tour of your home.
Love your videos and your beautiful style!! Do you have a trick for keeping rings off your lovely dark table? I am constantly fighting this problem on both my light oak and my dark cherry tables. It seems that heat from plates as well as moisture from glasses messes up the finish, despite using placemats or tablecloths… HELP!!
@@sheristrybos5831Thank you. In reference to the rings on the table, I do have that happen from time to time. It might be caused by the wax in certain polish, but I am not certain. I do wipe down my tables with soapy water now and then which might remove the wax build up. I have heard that mayo will remove the white rings. Wish I could be more helpful.
I think a small corner cabinet would be perfect in that spot where you have the little table. It would also give you another space to style. I have one and it fits perfectly into the corner, it has a cabinet on the bottom and a 9 panel glass door. Mine is scalloped too, it's an antique. Your home is so pretty, I love it! ❤
You have your mom’s gift for making a lovely home! I’d consider pulling the color of your kitchen cabinets onto your bump out in the dining room. You get enough light that it wouldn’t be too dark. The blue is so pretty. And paint your closet and front door the same color as the walls to make it more seamless. The good thing is, those choices are just paint, so if you don’t like it it wouldn’t be an easy fix. Happy decorating! Can’t wait to see what you do! 🤗
Painting your doors is a fantastic idea and you might look into picture frame molding that you can attach to the doors to add a bit of texture. It would definitely add a touch of character and should be easy to do until you get your wood door
Beautiful dining room Nicole and I have always loved your hutch/china cabinet. Have you ever thought about a corner curio cabinet in that corner where your small table is?. Just a thought. 😊❤😊
I love all of your seating, between the kitchen and dining. Love the bar seating area. I know that make corner shaped pieces of furniture that would look good in that corner with the record player. I like what you have though. I could also see a Gather sign above the opening area of the dining and living area. Everything looks nice and, bright and clean. ❤
Hi Nicole! In the house we're moving into out front door opens to the dining room. The elderly couple that had the house built actually had that as a little den & had a very small table on the kitchen side just for the 2 of them. With us having the 2 grandbabies & when my son, DIL and grandbaby visits.. that would never work! We need at least A 6 chair dinette suit. There's A bigger, step down den on the other side of the kitchen so we'll have to make the area that was a small den that the door opens into our dining room. Its open to the kitchen anyways!🤷♀️ So It just makes sense! Guest may come to the front door but that's OK too! The back door opens to the laundry room then into the den, because the den is at the back of the house. Lol i'd rather people come to the front! The floors in that house are the kind you guys have & looks about the same color. Are yours A gray tone or a brown? Ours are A gray tone. I love the rug its so beautiful!!❤ I definitely want a large rug for the den, and probably our bedroom. I don't know about the kids room yet. And I probably won't use one in the dining room, at least not right now. Maybe when the kids get A little older, they're way to messy right now.. I told them there were no rats here to feed, what were they constantly dropping food for?!😄 Honestly I thought the plant on the table was real!😮 That looks very realistic thru the camera for sure! We do have room in the dining area for a hutch & a buffet..i want both hopefully sooner than later, i do actually need then. I hope to find some really old pieces. Thankfully there's room on the kitchen side for my 1850's stepback cupboard. The top is for decor but the bottom is very large & will be great for a my electric gadgets like the air fryer, slow cooker, insta pot etc. That's the only thing i dislike about the house.. no counter space & not many cabinets. But I'll make it work!😉 I'm going to start looking on FB market place! I haven't looked in awhile. I love all brass candle holders, the chamber candle holders are my fav. I keep all my brass out year round, but i think it really does warm up a space nicely in winter! I really like the pieces beside the hutch, they're called 'mullions'. That's A neat idea! And the fact that you can decorate them makes it even better!😊 You're right, the plant on to of the hutch is very realistic, like the one on the table! Like I said i have lots of greenery, mostly, all around my home & I've tried to buy just the realistic looking pieces. I don't know how good I've done with it but i gave it a good shot i think.🤷♀️ I really love the bar area, John did an amazing job! I love how he created the bump out around it.. looks like it was built there from the beginning, original to the house! Ohhh Nicole it would be gorgeous painted a darker color, kind of like an accent wall! That would truly change the whole space, elevate it so much! I hope you guys decide to do that, I'll be excited to see it!😁 With the darker wall spaces & the fireplace it does help break up the white in the living room. The can lights were a great idea & the sconces are a really pretty touch. If you need space for the record player, you can always find an small antique chest of drawers or bigger table to sit there. A small curio would be really pretty there! I have one that's between 5-6' tall and maybe 2' wide, 2 shelves making 3 sections & the door has s small glass Windows or you can leave it open if there's space. Its perfect for collections of smaller pieces, a teacup & saucer collection, Or just tchotchke's of any kind! I bought mine when my FIL passed, he had a huge hutch full of things so we got some pieces & we needed somewhere to keep them. Its A newer piece & I would love to chalk paint & distress it, take the glass out & put chicken wire in or sell it & find an older piece 🤷♀️ i just like the size of it tho. But I do love the little table that's there, its beautiful! A gallery wall would be beautiful there.. with or without a of of furniture there. The dining room is beautiful tho, very nice space! I agree with the ceiling idea too!😊 Enjoyed chatting & hanging out, thanks for sharing! God bless!🙏🏻
Good afternoon Nicole! I enjoyed touring your dining room. A couple of suggestions for your corners…perhaps, a corner hutch which would give you shelves for styling and storage plus it would give balance from the other hutch. Since you host a lot, perhaps a tea cart would be an option for the other corner…functional plus styling! Also, since your dining room gets lots of light and you mentioned you like your wall paint, color drenching your dining room might be an option for painting the doors and wood trim. It would be a seamless look and not much cost. I love the simplicity of your style decor! Thank you for sharing! 💕
Do you have room to move the olive tree to the opposite corner and then move the small table and a small chair to the corner by the window to create a peaceful sitting spot ?
When you make the prints from Etsy, do you print them in a matte finish or just the regular glossy? How large can the prints be made, in your experience?
They have pretty large sizes to choose from but as far as the finish goes I normally just do the standard finish that’s automatically set. I think matte is extra but I could be wrong about that lol I’ve never had an issue with them though! I use Walgreens
Hello Nicole!! You and John have built a beautiful home for your family!!! I love all the ideas you shared about future projects!! When you own a home there's always something you want to change 😊 Your home is cozy relaxing and inviting!!! Take care and God bless you friend 🙏 😊❤

Everything is cohesive, creating a comfy and cozy atmosphere. I agree with you on the doors, wood would bring more warmth to the dining room.

I would put a smallish upholstered chair in place of the record player. It would add seating as well as texture and/or pattern.
I think you’re home is welcoming and comfortable.
Thank you. I agree m. Definitely paint the doors to match the walls and stack some artwork on the right.?
Love it!

Yes that’s a good idea too! I actually used to have a tufted chai in the corner where the tree is now. I may have to switch it back! Lol
@@Nicolemurphy_home I thought I remembered the chair in that corner in the past 😉
Place a ladder in your corner to replace the small table with a throw

How about a small upholstered chair or a blanket ladder that dining room corner :)
Like the simple decor. How about replacing the closet door with curtains?
Happy Friday in January Nicole and family! Nice Home, love the way you decorate your home. Enjoy your weekend and stay warm. STTB🦋🦋🦋🦋
Happy Friday to you too! 😊 thanks for watching!
Is there a reason you didn’t take the wall to make it counter height?? You could have taken your counter clear across.
Our stove is on the opposite side in the kitchen so that wasn’t an option for us
