I finally made it there in December 2022. I saw a guy named Shelton who had gotten his HPA permit and was running his Gold Cube, bucket flare into a sluice. He wasn't using siphon tubes - pretty sure he had tub flanges. He had a 4 foot hole where he'd found some nice black sand. Lucky for me - he filled my 2 buckets halfway from his pay streak. My wife and I struggled to carry them back to the parking area to put them in the car. Fast forward - I dried it out, ran it through the Coulter Young Rollie Pollie a few times to remove over half of the material, take a soup spoon full to pan and at least 50 colors in each pan. WOW! Cape Disappointment! WOW!
Love the cape gold you guys get. Crazy fine stuff. I have found that here in Ohio we have tons of sub visible gold for every visible speck you can capture. Do you know of anyone smelting their concentrates from the cape?
I've heard of people doing that. But when you look at the sand under a microscope the magnetite is so fine that it does not bind up any gold so most of our systems are capturing in the 90 to 95% range not when it comes to the last quarter cup of material that I wouldn't mind trying to smelt.
I can't wait to head down there. Do you know if there is certain times of the year when it's better? And, how many buckets can you bring home? Now that we're headed into 2021 I wanted to try to plan it out - run for a day and bring a bunch home to process a little more leisurely.
You can bring home 2 5 gallon buckets per person but the sand must be processed in someway. Before they started to rebuild the jetty first time of year was winter still Liz but the overburden it’s not stripped away like it used to be. Where is the new laws in Washington we have to take our water off the beach so be careful with how much water you get out of the ocean because she didn’t have to pump that into a container and take it with you and then dump it in the nearest town. I know… It’s stupid look up the new laws
@@pnwprospecting I had heard about the two 5-gallon bucket limit and the take your water with you too. Have you tried the beach in Long Beach? I saw you can drive onto the beach and setup.
I misspoke in the video I meant to say that the Cape Disappointment where I was I was standing just down from a spot called Dead Man's Hollow which got its name from all the dead bodies that washed up on shore there's also a spot called Dead Man's Cove bet you can't guess why that's named that LOL
It’s a little tougher than it was before. Unfortunately Washington has banned all of our motorized operations including small recirculating systems using the gold cube. I’ve moved all of my operations into Oregon for the time being. But you can still bring home two buckets per person from the beach to run from home.
Great video! Amazing scenery out there... Like, WOW!

When it was best about five years ago, we were getting a quarter to a half gram of gold per 5 gallon bucket

Well done Gannon.
The real gold out there grows in the grass during fall you can tell cause of the cops
Yep just grow them in your garden wood chips! It’s easy!

Hi, I live in Castle Rock, WA. How do I get involved in this type of gold mining? I've been wanting to do this for years.
Thank you for your time.

'tis life
Why didn’t you just add your numbers lol?
Because it's just so much more fun to see it on the scale! Thanks for watching can't wait to make it down to the cape to make some more videos
Are you on Facebook y chance
Rarely. Unfortunately beach mining is closed to all motorized methods including electrical ones. But you can take sand home to run.
Right on!! Thank you I found you on Facebook from my friend Jamie Lant
All most enough to pay for gas.
