I might be misinterpreting what he said(I probably am). But when Zajef said that Xingqiu could be used to play comfy, that means that when people don’t really feel like dealing with overkill c6 bullshit, that they can play xingqiu and enjoy the game without feeling the need to speed run.
I just take everything Zajef says with a grain of salt since his biases clearly shows each time he reviews a character. A character's design would sometimes also affect his reviews, regardless of how good their kit is, he would find a fault and blow it up if he doesn't like their design (ex. Chevreuse).
I still remember the take of zajef suggesting a team of Wriothesley Baizhu furina Xianging (em with kitain) and the first thing that went in my mind was, my dad is gonna come back with the milk before their burst
This team was literally showcased in a CN speedrun video or whatever those videos are about. And yea, favge is the best option, Xiangling dmg doesn’t matter, just 240+ er is the important part.

Talk to the people who do the runs often times they reset 100 times and hyperinvest/try very hard just to have fun with a fast time. It’s not a normal player clear. Also those runs are all slower then proper Wrio teams so….it’s still not good?
What’s weird is that zajef and many other tc consider old 4* at c6 and new 4* at c0 even though these scenarios are few and far between for new players. You are just as likely to have XQ c6 than faruzan c6 for most players that didn’t start day 1. And these low investment theory crafts barely apply to day 1 players since it’s unlikely people never pull cons/weapon.
New players should build National because you'll have the C4 Xiangling, C6 Xingqiu with fav or sac refines and a C1 Bennett the moment you open your account🔥🔥🔥
This made me think. Which 4 stars should new players actually invest in? Under the C0 r1 4star conditions, Fischl seems really good, since she works so well in many teams and isn't reliant on constellations. If playing a pyro carry however, Xingqiu is probably still the best option just for his hydro application+IR. At that point he becomes a low investment unit that focuses on ER like more supportive characters such as Faruzan or DMC.
@@FliponYT tbf both Xingqiu and Bennett are still great at C0, they're just better with some constellations. You do have an argument to not use Xiangling before C4 tho

You would think the most "comfy" and "chill" thing to do in the game would destroy every enemy in front of you with a C6 yelan but zajef would disagree apparently
IMO the idea of hypercarry in general is a bit blurry bc of the different definitions surrounding it. Like if your definition of hypercarry is >70% or >75% damage contribution, Neuvillette in many of his teams does not quite fit that threshold. He tends to hover around 60% of the team's total damage thanks to often being played with characters like Furina or somebody like Fischl who often will hog around 20-30% damage contribution from him. I do think Zaj underestimated Neuvillette's contribution, since I faintly remember him saying he would likely only be around 40-50% of the teams damage before, but Neuv is still not quite to the level of Xiao or Wanderer in terms of damage contribution. Ofc that means nothing when it comes to actual damage output- Xiao was a hypercarry even when he was really mediocre before XY and Faruzan, whereas Alhaitham never was a hypercarry thanks to Quickbloom hogging about 30-50% damage contribution even though Alhaitham was (and still generally is) a unit with higher team total damage output.
@@ChAnTAxR I was ecactly wondering about what are people on here. Of course Neuvi is not a hypercarry. He is made to play with reactions and other DPS units. In case of Furina - even if focus on her as a buffer - there is a big difference in her DPS in other teams and Neuvi - Furi -> double hydro... to the point Furina's DPS elevates those teams significantly. I guess you can make vape team where Neuvi will be like hypercarry, but overall nahh. Zagenda77 ramblings were funny, but people fighting over Neuvi's hypercarry status are more funny in this case.
Prophet77 says Aquila is best, but preaches “just use Fav”. I’m with you on Skyward. With it I can just build a DPS Bennet without worrying about ER and save those ER heavy pieces for someone who really needs that Nobless item.
I think the reason he puts Aquila over Skyward is that he funnels energy multiple times and uses National w/o a dedicated driver like Childe which makes him disregards any other dps who wants Bennett to build extra ER on their team to not extend the team rotation.
I like Aquila on Bennett because I'm able to get 250 er on him without an ER weapon and I enjoy big Atk buff. But yeah I would recommend just using the Skyward blade if you got it because it makes him much easier to build to allow you to focus on your main DPS.
14:38 IIRC, the context of that tierlist is that he was deciding that if they added a way to select standard 5 star weapons, which you should pick (since there were some rumors floating around that they may be added to the shop, which probably just ended up being the chronicled wish, or maybe a complete lie that happened to get something right) side note, but another bad take in that tierlist was putting skyward spine in bottom tier because it's a the catch sidegrade and the catch is free... but like one of the most popular raiden teams includes raiden and xiangling, who both want the catch. so having a second the catch is very good actually.

Xiangling doesn’t need that much er on that team and is triggering some overloads, r5 dragon’s bane is more than competitive, if given the option I’d rather pick another weapon

I'm actually glad you're trialing Zachef again. Honestly Zy0x's crimes usually have Zachef as an accomplice, or are literally unrelated to theorycrafting (ahem Duality of man, not making an updated Diluc guide). Also Xingqiu can never be the best defensive option since he LITERALLY kills your eyes with how ugly he is. So much so that you don't even want to play the game.
It is something I noticed from him ever since he tried comparing Wanderer to Sucrose... I appreciate his push to get people to use more F2P friendly teams, but that is the equivalent of appreciating a nuke for getting rid of the rodent infestation. He pushes his agenda WAY too much, going beyond defeating the point of his channel. He either has become a parody of himself, or he always was like this. It is very disappointing.

I believe the context was his usage in electrocharge teams compared to sucrose, but at the same time he is comparing a pure damage dealer with a reaction spamming support. Even if their teams involve the same reactions, the playstyles and build still wildly vary.

Zajef for a long time said Baizhu was a sidegrade to Yaoyao, but I had C4 yaoyao and C0 Baizhu and he blew Yaoyao out of the water, I think with baizhus rerun he changed his stance, but I suck at the game and even i could tell how much better Baizhu did, and I cant even use excell.
I dont like many of zajeff 5star takes, but in this case he was right. Back in 3.6, Baizhu was only a sidegrade to yao yao in 1-2 teams namely keqing and cyno aggravate. Any other teams he is just an onfield dendro applicator who could heal but you would still use nahida because she does more dmg. But with release of furina, baizhu actually had a purpose. The main difference between yaoyao and baizhu is just comfyness, the dmg doesnt really go up, but with furina... baizhu's strong heals actually have a purpose.
People basically don't know how his burst works and if you can get C2/C6 Baizhu you actually want his shield to break often, if all his shield broken during burst duration he's basically Dendro XQ/Yelan at C6. There is basically a table how Baizhu's Dendro application works during burst between C0, C2, and C6. C0 is already mini XQ to begin with...

For real... At the start of Sumeru I was listening to Zacheff and then correcting my Fren they should use Shinchow instead of Yelan in burgeon and then I realised... wait a minute... Yelan - frontloaded AoE hydro application... is GREAT. When I see people thoughtlessly repeating that Xingqiu has 'best application'... like... there can't even be anything like this, cause you want different application for different purposes.
ig it depends on abyss cycles, but if you play smth like Nilou triple hydro that defensive utility for Nahida is clutch. I preferred him over Yelan on 4.2 abyss and that was me finally busting him out in 6 months.
One nitpick I have is that when you showed the zhongli and XQ clip against the tulpa you showed zhongli without Bennet burst Pyro infusion and XQ while your in Bennett burst Aka you got vaporized for double damage on XQ
I can attest to having reduced trust in Zajef after he acted like Wriothesley was the worst DPS in the game. Compared to literally everyone else’s reaction which was basically “he has issues, but is fine.” He spent multiple videos (pre-release, first impressions) complaining about Wriothesley, (not to mention some of his issues came across as “feelscrafting” to me, IIRC more than once “this doesn’t feel good” was said in his first impressions vid without elaboration but I could be misremembering as it’s been a long while since I watched it) and then when solutions to certain issues were found he followed up with… a community post? Didn’t even bother making a post release or proper follow up video, just left it with a minimal effort community post with a reduced reach, meaning the vast majority of his audience would be left with the impression that Wrio’s issues was the final say. It was far from objective coverage and knocked Zajef off my “go-to” list of people to refer to, and takes like the ones covered in this Court solidified that for me shortly thereafter.

the yaoyao propaganda from these two is ridiculous, i love her too but when i got baizhu i literally stopped using her/never had a reason to use her over baizhu. Like everything improved. Yeah she is good and a good 4* option, but kirara is also there w better app and constellations imo.
I tried using Yao Yao for her healing instead of Nahida but i found that shes just is too inconsistant with her dendro app resulting in not many aggravates. I might try Kirara when i get her c4.

Zajef is a theorycrafting streamer so his streams are full of takes, at least most of them are good unlike other streamers who only give advice sometimes and still have even more horrible takes
Xingqiu defensive utility dont matter unless you use him for beidou taser, big enemy hits will bust through Beidou's hp during her parry without him. Other than that you'll prob just suck at dodging, with Xingqiu or not big enemies that deals massive damage will bust you in one combo anyway you shouldnt brawl with them. The only reason you use Xingqiu is if you want the amount of hydro application he provides.
It not even skill issue, if you have to dodge multiple times, you are losing dmg, simple as that. Dodging at unoptimal times on Hu Tao for example would result in you losing 1-3 charge which is way worse than gaming 50% dmg
Surely Xinqui's hydro application and defensive utility can withstand these court allegations. It's just so good, better than C6 Yelan surely I'd say definitely not coping

@ChAnTAxR We're thinking VERY DIFFERENT freeze teams lol. My team is Kaeya (Main DPS), Xingqiu, Chongyun, and Kazuha. So... yeah. I used Kokomi for a bit, but her radius is smaller than Chongyun's so she's not incredibly useful, even if she provides healing. The others aren't really worth considering because I'm not reinvesting into an Ayaka or Ganyu because my Kaeya is level 90 lol. Well, maybe Ganyu, because I have both Venti and Ayato and that would be funny.

I am a newer player and my only c6 characters are Faruzan and Gaming. 2 newer characters. As for the best 4 stars. My Xingqiu is c2, Xiangling is c0, Fischl is c0, Bennett is c2 and i don't have Sucrose or Kuki at all. But i do have Kazuha and Raiden. You simply cant relay on the fact that you will get a certain 4 star when theres a good chance you wont get them at all.
Man I remember his pre-tc Furina where he claims that Xingqiu teams are "effectively 400% tankier" than Furina teams because XQ gives you 50% damage reduction and Furina keeps you at 50% hp all the time... Literally discards the fact that healers will top your characters up every rotation, healers usually have DoT healing after their teamwide burst heal, and you need some other defensive utility anyways to reliably reduce or get back chip damage over time with XQ. Truly a salesman of all time.

@@ChAnTAxR Abyss has two sides. If you remove wrio from hyperfridge and add an instructor collei (or instructor DMC) you get a team that deals more damage and requires even less investment. At the same time your wrio is free to be used for other side. Intentionally griefing your hyperbloom by putting a subpar unit there isn't helping any "low investment" account clear. If you don't own many 5 starts very often the thing you can do is play hyperbloom one side and wrio another, low investment accounts don't have the luxury of putting all the eggs in one basket. Also it is not true that Zajeff focuses on low investment, at the time of wrio release nahida last rerun was on 3.6, there is no universe where suggesting hyperfridge is a sensible recommendation, no low investment even had nahida in the first place. And the moment you don't have nahida the gap between double dendro hyperbloom and hyperfridge becomes even larger.

Still there is a lot to say about Zachef, but nevertheless this court was a great step in the good direction.
I always use Yelan over Xingqiu , but I will admit that I have often thought if it would be better to use Xingqui bc of Zajeff. And yes the only time I use him is in Nilou bloom teams with an em build. I like Zajeffs videos and I think he has a lot of good takes aswell, but I can definitely see the point you are making here.

Hu Tao applies more hydro than Xl so I didn't think it was worth mentioning. Regarding the combos, it's like a 50/50 whether you lose vapes on N2C so I just went with N1C. And doing N1C on Yelan is still higher dps than N2C on XQ as: Yelan's personal damage is higher She enables shorter rots She buffs Hu Tao. Hopefully that cleared up anything
Because of zajeff I'm still Kazuhaless :/ I knew he's a good unit, but all I heard that he's about as good as Sucrose or she's better. Therefore I didn't pull for him, because he's not a waifu and not a "really meta" (cuz Sucrose is apparently better y'know). After suffering in lack of good grouper when he was needed, perfect anemo for mono teams and getting to know more about meta, I'm quite upset that I still didn't pull for him. Oh, yeah, also after zy0x tweeted laughing that some people still don't have Kazuha. I know it's a joke, but didn't you yourself were saying how much Sucrose is better?

Just look how many more teams Kazu has, including now with Neuvi or Lyney. Sucrose is great on paper with her buffs, while in practice... ehhh... her burst is very unreliable. You need to spend more time on-field with her, but it's almost never worth it. Her grouping... not only weak, but can be even problematic, like against vishaps. I have pulled some 5 star characters (+5 star weapons), and i also have good 4 stars pretty well built... Yet i feel like somethings missing when i bench these two
@@MarionFRBeen playing Sucrose and Kazaha on the same teams and I find myself enjoying Sucrose more and more. People have so many misconceptions about Sucrose burst; you don’t even need to use it for her to be great. I consider them sidegrades at the end of the day

I dont know where the brains of veterans who use Raiden to trigger hyperbloom is located. Its understandable for new players, they prob only have hyperbloom team and a raiden without her other team members.
@@eurekadiaz3771 It's pretty simple really. Raiden's E has some AoE to its hits, and Cores often are near enemies as it triggers off of Dendro Hydro reactions on enemies. It's also a bit easier to build due to really only needing to check EM rather than lets say their atk, crit rate, crit damage, energy recharge, and so on. Sure, Raiden has more ceiling to its damage with her other build, but you cannot deny the efficacy of Hyperbloom itself and the fact that it procs fairly often while other electros not named Kuki have a bit of a harder time doing Hyperbloom, procs Hyperbloom fairly infrequently, or is not as optimal/good than running either Raiden or Kuki.

Em raiden is nice thanks to the good aoe and u can kill everything far from you with no problems. Not that hard to understand if you play this game for more than 1 year, not everything is about big pp dmg.

I like zajef his videos i almost watches everyone of them but his xq takes i never fully understood like when comparing xq to yelan he likes to say defensive utility but like u said u don’t need it if the enemies are dead and when it comes to zhongli it isn’t that good😂. I just take everything Zajef says with a grain of salt since his biases clearly shows each time he reviews a character. A character's design would sometimes also affect his reviews, regardless of how good their kit is, he would find a fault and blow it up if he doesn't like their design (ex. Chevreuse).

What’s weird is that zajef and many other tc consider old 4* at c6 and new 4* at c0 even though these scenarios are few and far between for new players. You are just as likely to have XQ c6 than faruzan c6 for most players that didn’t start day 1. And these low investment theory crafts barely apply to day 1 players since it’s unlikely people never pull cons/weapon.
New players should build National because you'll have the C4 Xiangling, C6 Xingqiu with fav or sac refines and a C1 Bennett the moment you open your account🔥🔥🔥
This made me think. Which 4 stars should new players actually invest in? Under the C0 r1 4star conditions, Fischl seems really good, since she works so well in many teams and isn't reliant on constellations. If playing a pyro carry however, Xingqiu is probably still the best option just for his hydro application+IR. At that point he becomes a low investment unit that focuses on ER like more supportive characters such as Faruzan or DMC.

IMO the idea of hypercarry in general is a bit blurry bc of the different definitions surrounding it. Like if your definition of hypercarry is >70% or >75% damage contribution, Neuvillette in many of his teams does not quite fit that threshold. He tends to hover around 60% of the team's total damage thanks to often being played with characters like Furina or somebody like Fischl who often will hog around 20-30% damage contribution from him.
I do think Zaj underestimated Neuvillette's contribution, since I faintly remember him saying he would likely only be around 40-50% of the teams damage before, but Neuv is still not quite to the level of Xiao or Wanderer in terms of damage contribution. Ofc that means nothing when it comes to actual damage output- Xiao was a hypercarry even when he was really mediocre before XY and Faruzan, whereas Alhaitham never was a hypercarry thanks to Quickbloom hogging about 30-50% damage contribution even though Alhaitham was (and still generally is) a unit with higher team total damage output.

In case of Furina - even if focus on her as a buffer - there is a big difference in her DPS in other teams and Neuvi - Furi -> double hydro... to the point Furina's DPS elevates those teams significantly. I guess you can make vape team where Neuvi will be like hypercarry, but overall nahh. Zagenda77 ramblings were funny, but people fighting over Neuvi's hypercarry status are more funny in this case.
Prophet77 says Aquila is best, but preaches “just use Fav”. I’m with you on Skyward. With it I can just build a DPS Bennet without worrying about ER and save those ER heavy pieces for someone who really needs that Nobless item.
I think the reason he puts Aquila over Skyward is that he funnels energy multiple times and uses National w/o a dedicated driver like Childe which makes him disregards any other dps who wants Bennett to build extra ER on their team to not extend the team rotation.
I like Aquila on Bennett because I'm able to get 250 er on him without an ER weapon and I enjoy big Atk buff. But yeah I would recommend just using the Skyward blade if you got it because it makes him much easier to build to allow you to focus on your main DPS.
14:38 IIRC, the context of that tierlist is that he was deciding that if they added a way to select standard 5 star weapons, which you should pick (since there were some rumors floating around that they may be added to the shop, which probably just ended up being the chronicled wish, or maybe a complete lie that happened to get something right)
side note, but another bad take in that tierlist was putting skyward spine in bottom tier because it's a the catch sidegrade and the catch is free... but like one of the most popular raiden teams includes raiden and xiangling, who both want the catch. so having a second the catch is very good actually.

I dont like many of zajeff 5star takes, but in this case he was right. Back in 3.6, Baizhu was only a sidegrade to yao yao in 1-2 teams namely keqing and cyno aggravate. Any other teams he is just an onfield dendro applicator who could heal but you would still use nahida because she does more dmg. But with release of furina, baizhu actually had a purpose. The main difference between yaoyao and baizhu is just comfyness, the dmg doesnt really go up, but with furina... baizhu's strong heals actually have a purpose.
People basically don't know how his burst works and if you can get C2/C6 Baizhu you actually want his shield to break often, if all his shield broken during burst duration he's basically Dendro XQ/Yelan at C6.
There is basically a table how Baizhu's Dendro application works during burst between C0, C2, and C6. C0 is already mini XQ to begin with...

I can attest to having reduced trust in Zajef after he acted like Wriothesley was the worst DPS in the game. Compared to literally everyone else’s reaction which was basically “he has issues, but is fine.” He spent multiple videos (pre-release, first impressions) complaining about Wriothesley, (not to mention some of his issues came across as “feelscrafting” to me, IIRC more than once “this doesn’t feel good” was said in his first impressions vid without elaboration but I could be misremembering as it’s been a long while since I watched it) and then when solutions to certain issues were found he followed up with… a community post? Didn’t even bother making a post release or proper follow up video, just left it with a minimal effort community post with a reduced reach, meaning the vast majority of his audience would be left with the impression that Wrio’s issues was the final say. It was far from objective coverage and knocked Zajef off my “go-to” list of people to refer to, and takes like the ones covered in this Court solidified that for me shortly thereafter.

Xingqiu defensive utility dont matter unless you use him for beidou taser, big enemy hits will bust through Beidou's hp during her parry without him.
Other than that you'll prob just suck at dodging, with Xingqiu or not big enemies that deals massive damage will bust you in one combo anyway you shouldnt brawl with them.
The only reason you use Xingqiu is if you want the amount of hydro application he provides.
It not even skill issue, if you have to dodge multiple times, you are losing dmg, simple as that.
Dodging at unoptimal times on Hu Tao for example would result in you losing 1-3 charge which is way worse than gaming 50% dmg

@ChAnTAxR We're thinking VERY DIFFERENT freeze teams lol. My team is Kaeya (Main DPS), Xingqiu, Chongyun, and Kazuha. So... yeah. I used Kokomi for a bit, but her radius is smaller than Chongyun's so she's not incredibly useful, even if she provides healing. The others aren't really worth considering because I'm not reinvesting into an Ayaka or Ganyu because my Kaeya is level 90 lol. Well, maybe Ganyu, because I have both Venti and Ayato and that would be funny.

I am a newer player and my only c6 characters are Faruzan and Gaming. 2 newer characters. As for the best 4 stars. My Xingqiu is c2, Xiangling is c0, Fischl is c0, Bennett is c2 and i don't have Sucrose or Kuki at all. But i do have Kazuha and Raiden. You simply cant relay on the fact that you will get a certain 4 star when theres a good chance you wont get them at all.
Man I remember his pre-tc Furina where he claims that Xingqiu teams are "effectively 400% tankier" than Furina teams because XQ gives you 50% damage reduction and Furina keeps you at 50% hp all the time... Literally discards the fact that healers will top your characters up every rotation, healers usually have DoT healing after their teamwide burst heal, and you need some other defensive utility anyways to reliably reduce or get back chip damage over time with XQ. Truly a salesman of all time.

@@ChAnTAxR Abyss has two sides. If you remove wrio from hyperfridge and add an instructor collei (or instructor DMC) you get a team that deals more damage and requires even less investment. At the same time your wrio is free to be used for other side.
Intentionally griefing your hyperbloom by putting a subpar unit there isn't helping any "low investment" account clear. If you don't own many 5 starts very often the thing you can do is play hyperbloom one side and wrio another, low investment accounts don't have the luxury of putting all the eggs in one basket.
Also it is not true that Zajeff focuses on low investment, at the time of wrio release nahida last rerun was on 3.6, there is no universe where suggesting hyperfridge is a sensible recommendation, no low investment even had nahida in the first place. And the moment you don't have nahida the gap between double dendro hyperbloom and hyperfridge becomes even larger.

I always use Yelan over Xingqiu , but I will admit that I have often thought if it would be better to use Xingqui bc of Zajeff. And yes the only time I use him is in Nilou bloom teams with an em build. I like Zajeffs videos and I think he has a lot of good takes aswell, but I can definitely see the point you are making here.

Regarding the combos, it's like a 50/50 whether you lose vapes on N2C so I just went with N1C. And doing N1C on Yelan is still higher dps than N2C on XQ as:
Yelan's personal damage is higher
She enables shorter rots
She buffs Hu Tao.

Because of zajeff I'm still Kazuhaless :/ I knew he's a good unit, but all I heard that he's about as good as Sucrose or she's better. Therefore I didn't pull for him, because he's not a waifu and not a "really meta" (cuz Sucrose is apparently better y'know). After suffering in lack of good grouper when he was needed, perfect anemo for mono teams and getting to know more about meta, I'm quite upset that I still didn't pull for him.
Oh, yeah, also after zy0x tweeted laughing that some people still don't have Kazuha. I know it's a joke, but didn't you yourself were saying how much Sucrose is better?

Just look how many more teams Kazu has, including now with Neuvi or Lyney. Sucrose is great on paper with her buffs, while in practice... ehhh... her burst is very unreliable. You need to spend more time on-field with her, but it's almost never worth it. Her grouping... not only weak, but can be even problematic, like against vishaps. I dont know where the brains of veterans who use Raiden to trigger hyperbloom is located. Its understandable for new players, they prob only have hyperbloom team and a raiden without her other team members.
@@eurekadiaz3771 It's pretty simple really. Raiden's E has some AoE to its hits, and Cores often are near enemies as it triggers off of Dendro Hydro reactions on enemies. It's also a bit easier to build due to really only needing to check EM rather than lets say their atk, crit rate, crit damage, energy recharge, and so on.
Sure, Raiden has more ceiling to its damage with her other build, but you cannot deny the efficacy of Hyperbloom itself and the fact that it procs fairly often while other electros not named Kuki have a bit of a harder time doing Hyperbloom, procs Hyperbloom fairly infrequently, or is not as optimal/good than running either Raiden or Kuki.

Em raiden is nice thanks to the good aoe and u can kill everything far from you with no problems. Not that hard to understand if you play this game for more than 1 year, not everything is about big pp dmg.
