I was also diagnosed with FAI at 19 years old and have had hip pain since I was 17. I am a very active person since I was a little kid playing sports all year round. The biggest problem that set me back was I was also a video gamer. After physical activity I would usually park my self at my computer for hours on end leaving my but to die and my quads to get stronger . Not realizing this but I was causing myself major issues with my hip and muscle imbalances. Still to this day I find it every difficult to turn my quads off. My quads are constantly tight and pull everything out of wack. I was glad to hear this story because your not the only one with this problem
    Thanks,
    Sam

Going to a physiotherapist might help you! My quads were just like yours and now I can feel my legs again! They gave me lots of sport massages!

I am around 70 years old and an avid tennis player, very healthy and active. But, 2 years ago my hip started hurting and I went had X-rays and they say I am bone on bone, bone spurs and osteoarthritis. I would like some type of regenerative medicine or activity or something to help heal my hip, because I do not want hip surgery hip replacement

I blasted my hips with electrical muscle stimulation and gave up running. So far it's been 5 years and I'm still taking it easy and have minimal pain. I'm waiting for better medical technology.

Unfortunately surgeons want to schedule surgery even if you tell them the pain level has been greatly reduced. They look at the X-ray or the MRI and thats there determination that they want to get you into surgery. Thanks Matt for the great videos

The clip ends with Stuart saying, "Keep you posted". How are you doing Stuart?
I am so on the fence with a bone spur that has developed. I have do many strengthening exercises of the lumbar chain. I just fear that the spur that is not the original shape of my ball is causing further damage to my socket. Of course the hip stability through proper strength and flexibility of the surrounding muscles and ligaments is important., I just do not know if I also need to remove (Shave) the irritant so that true healing and strengthening can happen.

Please do not compare your condition to this person, everyone is different, for example, size, dimensions and lifestyles. It may be helpful for him to strengthen the muscles that he has been advised or has identified. I am sure it makes his life easier but also adds to the delay of the hip replacement surgery.
I would suggest that you seek and consult with a few reputable physio specialists so they can give you the right advise for exercising over a 3,6,9 or 12 months period so that you can actually develop a better workaround for the hip pain.
Also remember at some point all the recommended exercises will not regenerate the cartilage or slow the damage to your hip joints; it’s a bit like taking a temporary painkiller which may help to reduce the inflammation but does not change the damage to the bone and other tissues causing the pain - these will continue to degenerate.
You don't want to get to a point that you have damaged your pelvis so much that hip surgery is going to be complex and require many screws or supporting devices in order to keep the replacement cup inside the hip firm and secure.

    Cycling don't help the hip...
Yes raising the saddle higher does help...
When I was young I use to drop the saddle so that I can build more thigh muscles ... but not good for hip.

I was very fit and flexible, up until 2 yrs ago. I had a limp, and went to my physio, gave me exercises, and advised a cane. Worse thing I ever did, as I became reliant on a walking aid, now my legs are very weak, I cannot walk on my own 😭 Specialist said I have tight hips, but I have no hip pain, I have extreme knee pain. I'm on the trial list, for stemcell.

how do we tell if our glutes or other muscle groups are not firing??

    • @clublulu399
      @clublulu399 Год назад

Firing is not the right word to use but rather weak/atrophied muscles. I have basically what this guy has with my left glutes drastically different in mass and strength.
To your question it’s about doing some exercises with both legs and gauging a feel for mobility and strength. In a perfect world both sides should yield same results

I don't understand this nothing this guy says is right well maybe some things but the more you move the hip joint to get this exercise the worse your hip joints gets you may get more muscle but you're wearing out your hip joint and it's going to make things worse there's not muscle in your hip joint there's cartilage and you're going to wear it out riding a bike that's the worst thing you can do yeah don't listen to this guy at all

Hi, my name is Gabriele, I'm Italian, (I translate via Google) I saw the video uploaded 9 years ago, I wanted to know how Mr. Stuart is, if he has undergone hip replacement surgery or is he postponing it. I am now 51 years old and have been suffering from arthrosis of the left hip for 5 years due to FAI found by x-ray and magnetic resonance imaging The pain symptoms are the same as Mr. Stuart's. I had a medical examination with three orthopedic surgeons. the first one told me I needed surgery. the second told me it depends on the quality of life and that the operation could be performed in a year or 10 years. when the third doctor examined me and saw the x-ray, he told me that I was miraculous at walking and told me that I would dream of having hip replacement surgery. in these 5 years I have done various exercises, I have also done regenerative infiltrations with PRP and mesenchymal cells from abdominal fat. Result..... null unfortunately my question is the following.... Can our body really regenerate cartilage as many say in general on the web and on social media? or is it just our illusion.... my experience at the moment says no because I have had no benefit with either exercises or regenerative medicine. I was counting on regenerative medicine a lot because I believe in medical research.
