    I bought a 64gb scribe with premium pen for £380 ish last week, been using it the last two days and love it. Good for notes at work and reading my techy books. Mine also has a gap, I have read that this is by design, one theory is that if dropped on it's corner there would be no (or little) energy transfer to the screen so it would act as protection for breakage

      I have the gap too. Twice as big a gap along the side opposite the larger bezel. Always been a bit worrisome, but still seems sturdy as a unit. It’s weird that it’s offset, but I was told that this is within the acceptable manufacture variation. Seems odd for a premium device. Made me think it might be intentional as a passive heat-sink, but interesting to think it might be a bumper zone

      Hi. Can u help me with some info, please? If u want?
      question 1: how does an ink tablet cope with 1000+ pages pdfs books with images and 2 columns of small text (med student)?
      can I jump fast from page 25 to page 1025 for example? I need this a lot. How fast it can be in searching words in documents?
      q2: can I see detailed images like an anatomy atlas details?
      q3: does it support power points? Word documents? I have a lot of courses like this. Also taking notes on them?
      I am asking this because I also can't invest in a very very expensive product.

    I just bought my Kindle Scribe 32GB with the premium pen three weeks ago. I also have the Supernote. The Kindle writes so much better than the Supernote IMO, and the Supernote is really good. I like the recent updates which admittedly should have come with the original version. I have been able to transfer pdf's with no trouble so far. I like the box for making notes on books. It keeps the page clean. The Kindle flip case is not my favorite. I am looking to get a more book type case/folio for it.

    Really enjoyed watching this informative replay.
    Like you said, I think in terms of price-to-value AND as a newcomer to e-ink, this is an insane option for a FIRST device compared to the reMarkable 2 (which I was considering heavily) and the Supernote A5X. If I just don’t download e-books or audio books it’ll be super solid (already have a Kindle Paper White). I’m realizing that we shouldn’t need to break the bank to experience e-ink for the first time, and that the reMarkable’s and the Supernote’s will always be there when we want to make that jump to a “more premium” device.
    How is the writing-to-text conversion compared to the other competitors?

      Thanks so much. In terms of accuracy, it's pretty much the same, they all use the same OCR package. But it isn't the best implementation as you have to do the whole notebook every time, so it can sometimes take a little while. But as you say, value wise, you're getting something great for less than £300. Difficult to beat right now.

      I have the same exact debate in my head. I don't know what to do. remarkable is so expensive. but i also wonder....it's 300 bucks or less that could go towards my remarkable that i'm spending on a kindle scribe......and then reselling the kindle scribe later might be difficult i guess...so it's money i won't ever get back. what do you think?

    • @thechrisluu1
      @thechrisluu1 10 месяцев назад

      Hi @@JuanDavid-bg4yz , I have an update.
      I actually returned the Scribe and picked up a Supernote A5X.
      As someone who works in the film/social media content world, I tried the Scribe to use it for meeting notes and to have work documents (call sheets, schedule, etc.) on me while on set. Aside from that I used it to read as I found myself growing to like reading on bigger screens. I returned it because it was pretty awkward to bring out due to the horizontal length, and somehow during my use either the screen or pen got damaged. In retrospect, it may have been because I was swapping the nibs with third party titanium nibs continuously or non-visible impact damage, but there were 2 spots on the screen that wrote a lot thicker than I wrote it. I would write lightly on those spots and it would still write as if I pressed down hard on my pen. This happened within 2 weeks of daily use so I just returned it.
      When considering the next device I was torn between the reMarkable 2 and the Supernote, but ultimately chose the Supernote based on my needs (and the fact that the company did a drop test and it survived). In terms of your position, I suggest 2 things:
      1) Get the Scribe on sale to see if you like e-ink technology if you haven't tried it before with a cheaper product and a return policy of 30 days
      or
      2) If you really want the reMarkable 2 and know that you'll love it based on your research, I think you should just save for it. They also have that 100 day return policy, which is more like 90 days after you factor in shipping time and whatnot. I recently saw that reMarkable does Black Friday for about $70 off original price (idk if it's up still but it's worth checking right now), but I'm sure you can go on the reMarkable subreddit and ask for a referral code discount if you choose to buy it later on.
      It's great that all of these companies have return policies, so make sure to keep those in mind when evaluating your usage experience, and to plan accordingly if you decide to return it. Checking the subreddit for more info on return policies would also be good.
      Hope this helps!

    I finally bit the bullet, and bought one during this last run of sales. So, by trading in one of my DXs, the base configuration was $200 (I’m in the U.S) + tax.
    Here’s the kicker….i realized that I actually would prefer the Premium Pen, so I asked Amazon if I could just trade in the Basic Pen, and pay the extra $30, that I would’ve paid if I bought that package. They ended up just giving me a credit to buy the Premium Pen, and all I had to pay was $5 for tax. Pretty sweet deal. Amazon really came through on that one.

    How do you find reading on this compared to boox tab ultra c? Really leaning towards the latter, as it uses android, which makes it by far more open and easier to add new materials, and some level of seamless operations between other android devices (fold4/s9 ultra/book3). But this device does sound intriguing, too, albeit a tad difference in some use cases.
    Or would you look at this one as more of a different type of eReader, more for strictly reading/pdfs/notes?

    • @KitBetts-Masters
      @KitBetts-Masters  Год назад

      Yeah, exactly. I think for reading more paperback type books, (not just fiction but just generally those intended for print around that size) Kindle is the better reader. But TUC isn't Boox' best reader even. It's just the best at like everything else!

    • @ManiZach
      @ManiZach Год назад

      @KitBetts-Masters Yeah, thats kind of what drew me into TUCs direction. Since, I work with OLED screens daily for work, and use OLED screen phone, and a OLED tablet for re-search, reading, and others... Plus even a bit of gaming at that. If I could switch out the tablet, for minor processing needs, then I can at least get some relief, and hell. Can probably use it as a second monitor for lesser tasks on my PC/laptop, less eye strain all around!Also, can probably use it before bed time too, for some healthier sleeping habits. I might get both then... Either that kindle, or kobo sage. Thanks
