I know this video is 6 months old. But I need to talk about it. This is the food I make and I enjoy watching how other people do it. I have subscribed and already love your channel!
I live on the gulf coast of Tx, just SE of Houston. We absolutely love our Tex-Mex dishes around here !! This Tex-Mex dish you made had my mouth watering !!! Looks absolutely delicious !! I can't wait to try and make it myself ! Thank you for the wonderful recipes,,your awesome videos, and especially your marvelous personality !!!
I made this tex mex skillet for dinner tonight, and oh boy, did my husband love it!! I'll definitely be adding this to my repitour. Thank you for all of your wonderful dishes ❤
OMG Talli Faye, l can't stop drooling over this recipe!!! You know I told you that my momma & her side of the family was from Texas, & this is the sort of Mexican food we learned to cook from her. Coupled w/your Tex-Mex Rice dish, you are set to go. Thank so much for sharing this recipe! I can't wait to make it. I am curious though as whether the flavor would change dramatically if I used fresh garlic instead of garlic powder. Your suggestion? Love your channel. Tell your family hello from Pensacola, Florida. God bless.
Hi Miss Talli Faye I did miss your vids. Glad you are back. This one looks great. I would use all mild stuff tho. Reminds me of tamale casserole my mom made growing up. It had whole olives in it! MMM. Karla in Cali.
Mmmm this looks great, can’t wait to try it. How do you store your used cooking oil? And how many times do you reuse your cooking oil? It’s too expensive to waste just after one use! Thanks for the information Talli Faye.
It depends on what I’ve cooked in the oil… I do save and reuse most of it…. I’ve got two big jugs that I take it up in after I strain it… I have a designated fish frying oil and the other is meats and veggies that are coated in flour… if it has a cornmeal crust I add it to the fish oil…. If I’ve used it two or three times I start over 😊
Recipe looks delicious, well worth a good dinner for sure. I have a question though, when you put tomato products in your cast iron skillet, do you ever get a metallic taste in the food? Why I ask, one time I made something, can't remember what it was, old brain here...anyhow, whatever it was, tasted of metal. Since then I have not used cast iron for anything that contains tomato anything. I do have a enamel lined cast iron skillet that I could do this recipe in. Thanks for this recipe and all the others I have enjoyed watching.🥰
I know it will do that metallic thing but I think it’s when you do something with say like a lot of liquid and tomatoes 🍅 for more soup liquids…. You can make this in any dish you prefer though if you have reservations about the metallic thingy😊♥️

I think the fresh garlic would be good in it!.. Maybe be a little careful as to not overpower all the other delicious flavors goin on 😊♥️😊
I definitely am going to give this a try

@@inthekitchenwithtallifaye4724 yes, it probably was spaghetti sauce or something of that nature, the taste was awful. 😆
A good one, I'm sure!
