Her hair is because the rubber band that held her high ponytail broke. Over time, the rubberbands degrade, so I just reset mine with a new rubber band and she looks just like the packaging!
Omg i had this doll when i was a kid i loved her ❤❤❤❤i had another one of these that was a set with a guy and a girl doll and a motorcycle for them with helmets
I had to re-style my Happy D because the original hair band always dries up and breaks. It's easy to reset and looks super cute, just like you'd expect from the promo shots
I know this a really late comment, but I’m so glad someone finally stepped up and think that these dolls not stereotypical. Your absolutely right this was the style back in the late 90s to early 2000s. Not just in the urban/hip pop culture but in general. Being born in the 90s this style was definitely a thing until like the mid 2000s. But other than that I loved the doll line. My sister had all of them when we were younger and I want to start collecting them as well.
I really hope you can get all the ones you want back! I’ve seen their prices vary so if you wait a bit you could get some for great deals like I did ❤️
LOL, the background is not disgusting at all, my window blinds have dust on them!! Anyway, that doll is quite pretty. I like the articulation. I do remember these dolls from way back, but I never purchased them because I always decided to buy a bratz instead!
oh my gosh i think i remember pics from that wave, i think it stuck out so much in my mind because one of the boy dolls comes with a wig change if im remembering it correctly?
These dolls always remind me of this show that i *think* was called " city guys " and the theme song was something terrible like " c, i , t , y- you can SEE why these guys are called.... city guys " and one of the few sets that they reused and reused was this like outside of an inner city school brick wall that looks just like the boxing on these dolls so the two are just connected in my mind and I'm almost positive they're from the same era. The interactive boxing here is really similar to something the snap stars doll boxes have where they have the green screen fold out and the bendable green screen stand that plugs into the neck. I also love the hair texture and would have been equally sad to have seen that little friar tuck hair halo bald spot
Jpopluvr1000, I don't feel as bad because I accidentally broke the pinky fingers off of both of my kiyoni brown dolls. It seems to be that the plastic is very fragile.
This reminds me of when I was younger. I was in the city with my grandma and she bought me my first My Scene Nolee and the store also had HappyD´s outfit and other fashionpacks from Flavas...but they never had the dolls.....
For context, the rising sun flag is a Japanese military flag that was flown in world war 2, and is specifically associated with imperialism and war crimes committed in South Korea and other East Asian countries. Not something you want on your doll shoes imho....
This doll is so Christina Aguilera 2001 with the braids.
latinfatuation No it wasn’t lol it was based off black women just like Christina’s braids
But the black dolls didn’t have braids they looked way better than the blonde omr
Damn thought the same

She's soo cool, LOVE the 90s style even though they came out in the 2000s. Lmao. 🙌🙌🙌
1997-2003 was a whole era.
I really like Flavas dolls ❤️ They are so detailed, each is so unique. It's a pity that they were discontinued 😔
They are actually really awesome dolls I think they look kinda of like Barbie dolls to me ❤️💖
The original commercial song is STILL stuck in my head! "What's your flava, tell me what's your flava."
I haven’t forgotten it!!
It's actually a song by Craig David called What's your Flava?😅

Happy D was my favorite! I have her with the Cruella De Vil like hair.
The idea of her package becoming a stand with scenario is amazing
They added "Tawny" in the last wave, "Flavas Choice Awards" in 2004!
oh my gosh i think i remember pics from that wave, i think it stuck out so much in my mind because one of the boy dolls comes with a wig change if im remembering it correctly?
I remember wanting one of these so bad as a kid!
Why does this doll remind me of the gangster bitch barbie SNL skit. 😂😂
Oh my god!!!!!!!! I remember these!!! ❤️❤️❤️
