Laughing at the "chilli fried rice". That was a good guess tho. Anytime you see jerk chicken with brownish color rice its called "rice and peas". Thanks for sharing. We will be visiting half moon cay next year. So excited
You have to rent the chairs- but you rent two at a time ( don’t rent two as an excursion- you then get 4 chairs) It is not very expensive- pre COvid it was around $14 for one “excursion” (2 chairs) This gives you privacy and a place to store your stuff like towels. They also have lockers you can rent if you bring any valuables. I usually rent one for wallet and room key or possibly a camera when you are swimming. You can also rent snorkeling equipment. There is pretty good snorkeling on the left side of the beach past the kids water park.
Hello, is there a water park for the kids like Royal Caribbean’s perfect day at coco cay? A carnival rep tried to tell me it was but I cannot find any evidence of it. They even sent me to an off brand website that had a picture of RC perfect day listed under carnival. Thank you.
I've never heard of this island before. I know about Castaway Cay for Disney Cruise Line and Coco Cay for Royal Carribbean but this is the first I've heard of this place. How long have they had it?
@@IntheLoopPodcast "but it isn’t used as often as coco cay or castaway cay" Why do you think that? HAL and CCL both use Half Moon Cay, as HAL actually owns it. Pretty sure it's used about the same amount. FYI, notice the HAL logo on the "I wish I could stay here forever" sign, and the Club HAL on the map.
Holland America has owned Half Moon Cay for a long time (actually longer than Disney has Castaway Cay). And before that, supposedly NCL (Norwegian) owned it. NCL was also the first cruise line to "own a private island". Many cruise lines have private islands now. Pretty much all major cruise lines do. The Carnival Corp has four. Princess Cays is very similar to Half Moon Cay.
How the whole wine situation played out in my head: Him: "It MAY be allowed... ehhh..." Her: "It's definitely not allowed" Him: "Well, nobody stopped us-" Her: *Shuts it down immediately* "No" LLOOOOL. Thanks for the video!
How have you felt re: "the ongoing global health situation" and cruises and travel. Have there been incidences of people getting ill? Even with vaccines and testing, I've known numerous breakthroughs. Would love to experience things like this but feels risky for me. Glad you are having fun and sharing experiences at least I can live vicariously
@@angelmardi4335 I know people that died of Covid before the vaccine. So yes I definitely believe it. Thousands of people died. I laugh at you for not believing it.
does anyone know if I will be able to use zoom while at the cruise ship at Moon Cay? I have court that day that I am scheduled to be at Moon Cay. It says we have internet coverage at covered locations.
I used to work at an amusement park, and things like packing your own drinks might not be permitted, but I would never enforce it if folks were discrete. that being said, there will always be folks that don't agree with me and you should be prepared to lose anything you bring in with you. It might not be the staff's fault, there might be a camera and they may have already been warned.
I can confirm that beaches in Freeport look similar to this in that they are snow white sand and crystal blue water. We have stayed numerous times at Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach which is on Fortuna Beach and they have small reefs accessible from shore with a plethora of fish and other sea life.

Good to know will be cruising here in October
I will be there in October.
Thank you for this brought back some great memories
On a quest to watch all of the cruise videos?
That "slide" into the ocean 🤣
Do you need to book an excursion to go to the beach? Or carnival provides the free boats shuttles for everyone to just het there?
No excursion needed to go to the beach and carnival does provide the free water shuttles for everyone to get to the beach.

I believe there might be a small scale splash pad area (but I’m not sure if it is open) and it isn’t nearly as large as the one at coco cay
I was just on this ship and went here August 18th-22nd this year…can’t wait to go back
Enjoyed your video! What are you using to record?

Carnival purchased the island in 1996
You have to rent the half moon clamshells.

I was more concerned before I got my vaccine back in March, now I’m not very concerned about it
Eh... Y'all seriously don't believe it, do ya? Hahaha 😂🙄

I would probably stay on the ship during the time you need wifi, but I don’t have a ton of experience with the wifi onboard carnival cruise line

We went there back 2017
Princess Cays seems less crowded...
Nice job , nice video , can you do freeport beaches? Grand turk please

I like your video and I hope you make more videos
That's not a Barbque. That's a weenie roast!
I love your vids
Cay not Key. Dang!
That's for the plebs.
Straw market takes American cash.
Whats bs is you gotta pay for your drinks on shore. Royal you don't at cocoa cay!
Or if you want to pay they have a Lobster Shack
I love Half Moon Cay! I played basketball on that court in 100 degrees weather. #dniceadventures on RUclips to see the video.
Cheap looking buns lol wow
